A basic assumption in standard applications of control charts is that the observations are statistically independent. However, this assumption is often violated from processes in many industries. The presence of autocorrelation has a serious impact on the performance of control charts, causing a dramatic increase in the frequency of false alarms. This paper considers a process in which the observations can be modeled as a first order autoregressive(AR(1)) process, and develops (equation omitted) charts with the variable sample size(VSS) scheme for monitoring the mean of this process.

At the moment, Korea has faced a big challenge to an economic crisis due to higher exchange rate against foreign currency. In order to escape from this type of economic crisis quickly, our professional engineers have to do every endeavor to develop the basic material industries so that we could produce our product with a competitive price. If we were not victorious in this of borderless game, we would be hungry again very shortly.

Refractory industry in technologically advanced countries has long been on gradual decline due to leveled-off steel production and decreasing unit consumption of refractories for steel. Notable technological achievements by refractory industry that contributed significantly to steel production are briefly reviewed covering from blast furnace, basic oxygen furnace to continuous casting. Future possibility to revitalize the refractory industry is discussed on the basis of the review, taking into account opportunities available in environment and energy related sector of industries.

As development of Information Technology and Internet are available, many industries are creating a lot of values through extension from physical space to virtual reality. However, use of Information Technology and Internet in real estate appraisal is unprepared. As a result, There is necessity of appraisal information system development based on GIS and Internet for pratical use of Information Technology. Therefore, in this study, presented development model which present a basic design of appraisal information system to fulfill information request in appraisal and use GIS and Internet.

In this paper , the basic strategic method to induce the entrants and to raise the morale of students for the maritime college has been discussed, and it is pointed out that the values of higher maritime education in the developed society have a tendency to be highly evaluated from the point of not only maintaining the national shipping but also controlling the quality of the shipping industries and marine environment. Consequently, the new maritime educational program has to be developed so that the student may make a decision to choose hir course for the future job on the base of traditional maritime training.

Transmission capacity is becoming higher according to the increase of power demand. But construction of T/L is very difficult due to the securing of ROW and environmental problems. Then in order to consider efficient utilization of T/L, this paper suggests basic design methods of low-loss conductors.

The establishment and application of risk management system is one of the current issues in world-wide leading companies. Poor risk management might bring large-scale accident in construction industry by its features(large scale, diversity). Standardization system and standard for risk should be managed timely. In this paper, we do comparative analysis of standardization systems and standards concerned on risk, so thus present basic data for safety reinforcement and risk zero in the construction life cycle process.

Vacuum growth of thin films via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) methods has been extensively used in modern semiconductor and flat panel display industries. The CVD processes have a wide range of variation and are categorized according to their working conditions, power sources, precursor materials, and so forth. Basic components and process steps common to all CVD branches are discussed. In addition, characteristics and applications of two major CVD techniques - LPCVD and PECVD - are reviewed briefly.

This paper is described the review of several selected accelerators and the use of accelerators in various purposes. The electrostatic accelerators and RF accelerators have been developed before the second world war for the purpose of basic research of physics mainly. RF driven accelerators have been achieved higher energy and applied in medical and industrial use after 1980's. Accelerators have improved incorporating new technologies : axial and horizontal injection, stripping extraction, superconducting RF, computer control, superconducting magnet etc.. Also recent key technologies as BT and NT make the expansion of applications of the accelerators.

Korea Railway aims to be the most important public transportation for nationwide basic industries in 21st century. It is urgently necessary for us to construct economical railway network and to strengthen(strengthen) its competitive power in advance. In this paper the economical construction of railway network in Germany will be introduced. They lay emphasis on train speed and higher efficiency of railroad track.
