  • This paper analyzes fault tolerance under a stator turn fault, according to the winding configuration. Improvement of torque characteristics and fault tolerance can be achieved by winding configuration without additional methods. And, torque characteristics and fault tolerance according to the winding configuration can be usually analyzed by analytical method. But, when the stator turn fault generates, compare to the steady-state, analysis of torque characteristics and fault tolerance using the analytical method is not accurate because it does not reflect influence in mutual inductance and magnetic non-linearity. Therefore, analysis of torque characteristics and fault tolerance has to be performed by using the numerical method under fault condition. This paper develops fault characteristics according to the winding configuration using the FEM-base model considered magnetic non-linearity. And, this paper suggests fault tolerance improvement according to the winding configuration, by the comparison of 8/12 and 10/12 models, under fault condition.

턴-오프 특성이 향상된 Shorted Anode 수평형 MOS 제어 다이리스터 (A shorted anode lateral MOS controlled thyristor with improved turn-off characteristics)

  • A new lateral MOS controlled thyristor, named Shorted Anode LMCT(SA-LMCT), is proposed and analyzed by a two-dimensional device simulation. The device structure employs the implanted n+ layer which shorts the p+ anode together by a common metal electrode and provides a electron conduction path during turn-off period. The turn-off is achieved by not only diverting the hole current through the p+ cathode short but also providing the electron conduction path from the n-base into the n+ anode electrode. In addition, the modified shorted anode LMCT, which has an n+ short junction located inside the p+ anode junction, is also presented. It is shown that the modified SA-LMCT enjoys the advantage of no snap-back behavior in the forward characteristics with little sacrificing of the forward voltage drop. The simulation result shows that the turn-off times of SA-LMCT can be reduced by one-forth and the maximum controllable current density may be increased by 45 times at the expense of 0.34 V forward voltage drop as compared with conventional LMCT. Estimation of Allowable Path-deviation Time in Free-space Optical Communication Links Using Various Aircraft Trajectories

  • The allowable path-deviation time of aircraft in a free-space optical communication system has been estimated from various trajectories, using different values of aircraft speeds and turn rates. We assumed the existence of a link between the aircraft and a ground base station. First, the transmitter beam's divergence angle was calculated through two different approaches, one based on a simple optical-link equation, and the other based on an attenuation coefficient. From the calculations, the discrepancy between the two approaches was negligible when the link distance was approximately 110 km, and was under 5% when the link distance ranged from 80 to 140 km. Subsequently, the allowable path-deviation time of the aircraft within the tracking-error tolerance of the system was estimated, using different aircraft speeds, turn rates, and link distances. The results indicated that the allowable path-deviation time was primarily determined by the aircraft's speed and turn rate. For example, the allowable path-deviation time was estimated to be ~3.5 s for an aircraft speed of 166.68 km/h, a turn rate of $90^{\circ}/min$, and a link distance of 100 km. Furthermore, for a constant aircraft speed and turn rate, the path-deviation time was observed to be almost unchanged when the link distance ranged from 80 to 140 km.

향상된 전기적 특성을 갖는 IGBT에 관한 연구 (A novel IGBT with improved electrical characteristics)

  • 본 연구는 IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor)의 전기적 특성을 향상시키기 위해 새로운 구조의 IGBT를 제안하였다. 첫 번째 구조는 기존 IGBT 구조의 P-베이스 영역 우측 부분에 N+영역을 추가한 방법으로 기존 구조에 비해 빠른 Turn-off 시간과 낮은 전도 손실을 갖는 구조이다. 또한, 두 번째 구조는 게이트 우측 하단에 P+를 형성함으로써 Latching 전류를 향상시킨 구조이다. 시뮬레이션 결과 제안된 첫 번째 구조는 빠른 Turn-off 시간(3.4us), 낮은 순방향 전압강하(3.08V)의 특성을 보였으며, 두 번째 구조는 높은 Latching 전류(369A/?? ) 특성을 보였다. 따라서 본 논문은 제안된 두 가지의 구조를 하나로 결합한 구조로써 기존 IGBT보다 향상된 특성을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하였다.

지방근막 역전 피판을 이용한 발과 발목의 재건 (Adipofacial Turn-Over Flap for Reconstruction of the Foot and Ankle)

  • Purpose: Various kinds of local flap or free flap have been used for coverage for soft tissue defects with bone exposure over the ankle and dorsum of foot. Adipofascial flaps, nourished by vascular plexuses of the subcutaneous tissue and deep fascia originating from the local perforators of the major vessels, appear particularly to be indicated for the reconstruction of these areas. Our experience with this flap on the dorsum of foot and ankle has also been quite encouraging. Methods: The design of the flap is determined by the size and the location of the defect. The base of the flap is chosen depending on the availability of the soft tissue around the defect. The ratio of the area of the flap to the area of the base wound be more reliable to predict the survival of the turnover flap by the conventional length-to-width ratio. Nineteen patients with defect over the dorsum of the foot and ankle were resurfaced with adipofascial turn-over flaps and skin graft. Results: The average age of the patients was 38.2 years(3 - 81 years). The flap size was from $2{\times}3cm$ to $8{\times}5cm$. The average follow-up time was 6 months. All flaps survived completely except one case who suffered distal necrosis of the flap. The additional skin graft was required for partial skin loss in the five cases. Other functional impairment was not noted. Conclusion: Dissection of the local adipofascial turnover flap is quite easy, quick, requires less time and sacrifice of surrounding muscle itself, and maintains major arteries. In most cases, donor-site morbidity is minimal with an acceptable scar, and both functional and esthetical results were satisfactory. Therefore, Adipofascial flap could be an option for the difficult wounds around the foot and ankle.

고전압 역도통 Gate Commutated Thyristor (RC-GCT) 소자의 공정 및 구조 설계 (Process and Structure Design for High Power Reverse-Conducting Gate Commutated Thyristors (RC- GCTs))

  • The basic design structure of RC-GCTs (Reserve-Conducting Gate-Commutated Thyristors) is firstly given in this paper. The bulk of wafer is punch-through (PT) type with high resistivity and narrow N-base width. The photo-mask was designed upon the turn-off characteristics of GCT and solution of separation between GCT and diode part. The center part of Si wafer is free-wheeling diode (FWD) and outer is GCT part which has 240 fingers totally. The switching performance of GCT was investigated by Dessis of ISE. The basic manufacture process of 2500V-4500V RC-GCTs was given in this work. Additionally, the local carrier lifetime control by 5Mev proton irradiation was adopted so as to not only to have the softness of reverse recovering for FWD but for reduction of turn-off losses of GCT as well.

  • This study conducted an analysis of the distribution and status of baby boomer households and trends of turn to farming and returning home. At the same time, the density analysis of land price increase data, building data, and floating population data was conducted in Jeollanam-do County. The established base areas were superimposed to distinguish the regional centers according to the number of superimposed indicators. It is intended to present management measures according to the degree of activation of the center. An area where three bases overlap can be designated as a center activation area, and a place where two regions overlap can be designated as a center semi-activation area. Using the analysis of regional centers at the county level, hierarchies of the centers were classified and management measures were presented. Based on these findings, this study addresses meaningful applicability for regional and medium- and long-term plans.

  • In this paper, a winding fault diagnosis method base on MCSA(Motor Current Signature Analysis) for BLDC motor is proposed. This method is programmed by LabVIEW for winding fault diagnosis. For winding fault diagnosis, two types of winding fault(shorted turn at one pole, shorted turn at two pole in same phase) are put intentionally in on phase. The motor current is collected by hole sensor, and transformed by the Park's transform, and then the Park's Vector Pattern are obtained, Usually this pattern is formed an ellipse, so a proper threshold value of distortion ratio(the ratio of the shortest axis and longest axis of ellipse) is suggested for winding faults diagnosis.

  • This paper proposed LC resonant current fed high frequency inverter for high frequency induction heating using leakage inductance of transformer and, its described operating principle. The analysis of circuit presented by using normalized parameter in considering leakage inductance of transformer and, discussed characteristic evaluation of inverter circuit in detail. The proposed inverter is operating ZVS to reduce turn-on and turn-off loss of switching devices so, raised an efficiency. And, the experimental apparatus was made on base characteristic evaluation of theoretical analysis to discuss possibility on high frequency source and confirmed a rightfulness theoretical analysis. A result of study, the proposed inverter is higher utilizing factor using on leakage inductance of transformer and show possibility, which is application on high frequency power system.
