Device-to-Device (D2D) communication is a technology component for long-term evolution-advanced (LTE-A). In D2D communication, users in close proximity to each other can communicate directly without going through a base station; such direct communication can improve spectral efficiency. Although D2D communication brings improvement in spectral efficiency, it also causes interference to the cellular network as a result of spectrum sharing. In particularly, D2D communication can generate interference for each D2D pair when the common wireless medium in a co-located limited area is accessed. Even though the interference management for between the D2D pair and cellular networks has been proposed, the interference reducing methods have still not been fully studied for the D2D pairs. In this paper, we investigate the problem of D2D pair coexistence in which interference is considered between D2D pairs. Using a signal to interference model for a target D2D pair, we provide an analysis of the aggregated throughput of a dense D2D network. For a target D2D pair, we assume that the desired signal and interference signals obey multipath fading and shadow fading. Through analysis, we demonstrate the effect of cluster size such as the number of D2D pairs and the size of the considered area on the network performance. The analytical results are compared with computer simulations. Our work can be used for a rough guideline for controlling the system throughput in a dense D2D network environment.
The base of a signed digraph S is the minimum number k such that for any vertices u, v of S, there is a pair of walks of length k from u to v with different signs. Let K be a signed complete graph of order n, which is a signed digraph obtained by assigning +1 or -1 to each arc of the n-th order complete graph $K_n$ considered as a digraph. In this paper we show that for $n{\geq}3$ the base of a primitive non-powerful signed complete graph K of order n is 2, 3 or 4.
Benzopyrene is known to be one of the most powerful carcinogens which can build intercalated motif between base pairs in damaged DNA. The dimension of benzopyrene itself is much bigger than any of the DNA bases and thus the question whether the lesion of some base pair by insertion of benzopyrene can happen with or without a dramatic distortion of the helical structure is a highly interesting theme. In this work we used a molecular mechanics simulation using AMBER program package to go into the conformational characteristics. The condition of the insertion process of the benzopyrene motif from minor groove of the starting structure between the base pairs in the internal area of double helix was investigated using the molecular dynamics simulation at elevated temperature.
Isospecific propylene polymerization behavior of meta- and para-Lewis base (E) functionalized unbridged zirconocenes ($[1-(E_n-Ph)-3,4-Me_2C_5H_2]_2ZrCl_2$, E = $NMe_2$, OMe; n = 1 or 2) was investigated under bulk conditions. Catalytic activity of the zirconocenes, and molecular weight and isotacticity of polypropylenes are found to be dependent on the position and number of the Lewis base functional groups in the zirconocenes. All the crude polypropylenes possess a broad molecular weight distribution and multi-melting transitions, indicating an involvement of multi-catalytic active species in the polymerization. The highest [mmmm] value of an isotactic portion of the polypropylenes reached 89%, which is higher than that (85%) from the well-known $C_2$-symmetric EBIZr (rac-$Et(Ind)_2ZrCl_2$) catalyst. These results support that the in situ generated, rigid rac-like cation-anion pair through the Lewis acid-base interactions between the functional groups of zirconocenes and methylaluminoxane anion is effective in the formation of isotactic polypropylene under bulk propylene polymerization conditions.
Seonjeong-jeon, the semi-great hall in Changdeok Palace, was constructed in a highly formal and conservative style and accommodated official ceremonies. However, the contemporary modification of the building has distorted or eliminated features including the two side doors on the front, the floor coverings, and the throne base (Jwa-tap) that consisted the most significant part of the throne. Seonjeong-jeon originally had three doors that stood between each pair of columns on the front side, respectively. The courtiers accessed the building through the side doors, while the central door was exclusively designated for the king. However, the renovation in 1999 ignored the political context of the architectural form of the building and changed the side doors into windows, damaging the traditional structure inherited from the early Joseon Dynasty. Although the building currently has traditional wooden floor structure (Woomul-maru), it was originally covered with square brick tiles (Bang-jeon) before the Japanese occupation, following the customs of early Joseon Dynasty. The throne was placed to the north of the central door and consisted of the throne base and a decorative roof (Dang-ga). A canvas (Jang-ja), which featured the royal symbolic painting of Sun, Moon, and Five Peaks, was also installed between the two columns that connected the base and the roof. Nevertheless, only the columns and the blank canvas remain nowadays after the removal of the base.

The manipulability analysis of the parallel-type rolling mill proposed in Hong et al. [1] is re-visited. The parallel rolling mill uses two Stewart platforms in opposite direction for the generation of 6 degree-of-freedom motions of each roll. The objective of this new parallel rolling mill is to permit an integrated control of the strip thickness, strip shape, pair crossing angle, uniform wear of rolls, and tension of the strip. New forward/inverse kinematics problems, in contrast with [1], are formulated. The forward kinematics problem is defined as the problem of finding the roll-gap and the pair-crossing angle of two work rolls for given lengths of twelve legs. On the other hand, the inverse kinematics problem is defined as the problem of finding the lengths of twelve legs when the roll-gap, the pair-crossing angle, and the position and orientation of one work roll are given. The method of manipulability analysis used in this paper follows the spirit of [1]. But, because the rolling force and moment exerted from both upper and lower rolls have been included in the manipulability analysis, more accurate results than the use of a single platform can be achieved. Two. kinematic parameters, the radius of the base and the angle between two neighboring joints, are optimally designed by maximizing the global manipulability measure in the entire workspace.

Presented in this paper is a scheme for constructing ball rolling blends of a non-uniform B-spline surface(NUBS) patches. Ball rolling blending is a popular technique for blending between parametric surfaces. Along the "common edge" of a pair of "base surfaces" to be blended, a sequence of "ball positions" is sampled. The radius of the ball may vary along the line. At each sampling point, a ball center point and a pair of ball contact points are computed by applying a Jacobian inversion method. Using ball contact points, the constructing scheme of blend NUBS patches consists three steps; 1) determination of intermediate control vertices; 2) determination of boundary vectors; 3) determination of B-spline control vertices. The proposed blending scheme has been tested in a Omega CAM system and found to be working satisfactorily.
A species-specific 760 base pair(bp) BamHI to EcoRI DNA fragment(fMG-2) of lipoprotein gene was isolated from a Mycoplasma gallisepticum(M gallisepticum) genomic library. Based on the DNA sequence data of fMG-2, a pair of 25bp primers was synthesized. When used in the polymerase chain reaction(PCR), 732bp DNA products were amplified from 6 standard strains and 10 field isolates of M gallisepticum, but not from 2 Mycoplasma synoviae and 7 other Mycoplasma species. The lower detection limit was 100fg of the genomic DNA. Identity of the PCR products was confirmed by comparison of patterns of restriction endonuclease analysis with AseI, DraI, EcoRV and SspI.
Active micro-vibration control of a structure, which simulates a stepper device, is performed using a pair of piezolectric actuators. The control aims at reducing the translational and rotational vibrations of the upper plate when the base is subject to seismic disturbance and the upper plate undergoes impulsive transient motion. Using the experimentally determined model, derivative control scheme is adopted so that the damping of the closed-loop system is effectively increased. It is found that the predicted control performance is in good agreement with the experimental results. Finally, the limit cycle phenomenon due to the controller voltage saturation is compared with the simulation.
We propose a new pH-sensing scheme using a methylene blue adsorption on an optical fiber cladding surface. Interactions between the silica and hydroxyl ions of a base solution induce the surface of the silica negatively charged. The charged surface attracts the positively charged chromophores of methylene blue. As the pH of the solution is reduced, the electrostatic attraction will also be reduced. This electrostatic attraction can change the transmitted light intensity of the cladding mode, since the boundary condition changes. We also carried out a simulation to verify the effect from external refractive index change around a long-period fiber grating. Our results confirm that the wavelength shift by external refractive index change is negligible compared to the transmitted light intensity variation of the cladding mode. By using a long-period grating pair, we can detect the cladding mode transmittance variations. Experimentally, we showed the possibility of pH sensing in the $1.5{\mu}m$ infrared region.
