용량성 프로브와 광전송회로를 이용한 광대역 전압측정장치 (A Study on the Development of a Lightning Warning System by the Measurement of Electric Field at the Ground)

  • A reliable voltage measurement system is necessary to monitor status of power facilities in substations, which is easy to set up and is not influenced by electromagnetic interference in and around substation. In this paper, we described a voltage measurement system (VMS) which is composed of a capacitive voltage probe, an impedance converter, and an optical linker. To get a wide-band characteristic of the VMS, a high speed impedance converter was used, and the output impedance of the VMS was set at $50{\Omega}$ to match any types of observing instruments. The frequency bandwidth of the VMS. which was estimated by a step pulse, was ranges from 11.42 Hz to 13.65 MHz, and the VMS showed a good response characteristic in a high frequency domain such as impulse voltages as well as a commercial frequency voltage.

과실 경도측정을 위한 비접촉 초음파 변환기 연구 (Study on Non-contact Ultrasonic Transducer for Measurement of Fruit Firmness)

  • This study was conducted to develop an non-contact ultrasonic transducer for measurement of fruit firmness. The center frequency of non-contact ultrasonic transducer was 500 kHz. As an active element of non-contact ultrasonic transducer, the 1-3 piezoelectric composite material was selected. That material has high piezoelectric properties such as electro-mechanical coupling factor, $k_t$ and piezoelectric voltage constant, $d_{33}$ and also that material has low acoustical impedance which enables to matching the acoustical impedances between piezoelectric material and air. As a front matching material between 1-3 piezoelectric composite material and air, various kinds of paper with different thickness were tested. To control the dead-zone of the fabricated non-contact ultrasonic transducer, the backing material composed of epoxy resin and tungsten powder were made and evaluated. The fabricated non-contact ultrasonic transducer for fruit showed that the cneter frequency, bandwidth and beamwidth were approximately 480 kHz, 30 % and 12 mm, respectively. It was concluded that non-contact measurement of apple firmness would be possible by using the fabricated non-contact ultrasonic transducer.

DFT를 이용한 계통연계 인버터 시스템의 고정밀 계측 (High Precise Measurement of Grid-Connected Inverter using DFT)

  • A precise measurement of the grid voltage is one of the essential techniques, which is required to connect a renewable energy to the grid. In general, when a filter is used to eliminate unnecessary harmonics and noises, a signal is distorted by phase delay, amplitude attenuation, and other distortions. And the response characteristic of a controller is directly affected by bandwidth of cut-off frequency of the filter. To alleviate this problems, we propose an effective algorithm based on DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) instead of approaching the filter application. The proposed algorithm ensures high precise measurement of the grid voltage because it can extract the fundamental and harmonics from the raw signal without any distortions. The high performance of the proposed algorithm is verified by PSIM simulation and experiments of Grid-Connected VSI.

  • 본 연구에서는 인공 관절치환술 시 삽입되는 라이너의 잔존 두께 측정과 비구컵과의 결합 상태를 판별 할 수 있는 생체 삽입형 보철물 두께 측정 시스템 개발을 위한 생체 삽입형 초음파 변환자의 개발, 잔존 두께측정 알고리즘 및 최적화된 초음파 운용 방법에 대한 연구를 진행했다. 세부적으로, 비슷한 민감도와 대역폭을 갖는 8MHz 와 20MHz의 중심주파수를 갖는 초음파 변환자를 제작하여 상용 폴리에틸렌 재질의 인공 고관절 라이너의 다양한 두께를 측정함으로써 신호대잡음비와 축방향 해상도 비교 분석을 진행하여 체내 초음파 운용 방식 최적화 연구를 진행하였다.

Long Range UHF RFID Tag with a Rectangular Metallic Cavity Structure

  • A long range UHF RFID tag with a rectangular metallic cavity structure is proposed for various applications with metallic objects. The proposed tag consists of a rectangular metallic cavity structure and a folded dipole antenna which is located on top of the cavity. The tag is designed for Korean UHF RFID band(910~914 MHz) and the bandwidth, which satisfies the -10 dB input reflection coefficient requirement, is approximately 1.3 %(904~916 MHz). Measurement demonstrates that the proposed tag shows long reading range up to 15 m when it is placed on a metallic plate.

  • For imaging of concrete specimens using radar, principles of radar and signal processing are discussed. Experimental data obtained from radar measurement of two different concrete specimens at two different frequency bandwidths of 2~3.4 GHz, 3.4~5.8 GHz and these two frequencies are combined to show better imaging. A signal processing scheme has been implemented to visualize the concrete specimens. Through combined frequency, imaging results of concrete specimens were improved.

  • The real time monitoring of the power systems covering wide area are essential for the stable operation and control of the power system. Synchronized phasor measurement is a key for the precise monitoring and control of the power systems. In this paper, to suggest an appropriate network topology of Power Infrastructure Defense System(PIDS) and to estimate the maximum network bandwidth with using the network analyzer, we simulate a PIDS and analyze the network traffic.

  • 본 실험에서는 RF 소자들과 650 nm InGaAIP FP LD를 사용하고 이득스위칭에 의하여 선폭이 35psec 되는 극초단 광펄스를 생성하였다. 또한 이렇게 생성된 극초단 광펄스를 이용하여 언덕형 굴절률 분포를 가지는 다중모드 광섬유의 대역폭을 빠른 푸리에 변환(Fast Fourier Transform)으로 계산하였다 따라서 본 실험에서 이용된 언덕형 굴절률 분포를 갖는 다중모드 광섬유의 대역폭은 670 MHz.km로 측정되었다.

  • In this paper we designed and measured HTS antenna array for Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) system. HTS antennas fabricated in this work were a four-element, 11.67 ㎓z, high-Tc superconducting (HTS) microstrip antenna array with corporate feed network and circular polarization for direct broadcas- ting satellite (DBS) system. Our antennas was designed and built on a 0.5 mm thick YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) /MgO substrate. The measurement results showed good axial ratio, wide bandwidth a remarkable improvement over their metal counterpart.
