디지탈 이미지 프로세싱을 이용한 자동두께 측정장치 개발 (Development for Automatic Thickness Measurment System by Digital Image Processing)

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop an automatic measuring system based on the digital image processing which can be applied to the in-process measurement of the characteristics of the thin thickness. The derivative operators is used for edge detection in gray level image. This concept can be easiliy illustrated with the aid of object shows an image of a simple light object on a dark background, the gray level profile along a horizontal scan line of the image, and the first and second derivatives of the profile. The first derivative of an edge modeled in this manner is () in all regions of constant gray level, and assumes a constant value during a gray level transition. The experimental results indicate that the developed qutomatic inspection system can be applied in real situation.

  • Nowadays, our societies use digital technology in new architectural shape and space design to transcend three dimension limit so the boundary of the imagination world and actuality world has been collapsed. Traditional spatial value has been collapsed. Also indetermination and temporary assumption in time, fluidness and dematerialized, simultaneity and reiteration in image are relative with this circumstances. In architectural shape, media characteristics which secede from traditional characteristics of place tectonic value have occurred. Therefore, indifference and interests in shape, inter-permeation in interior and exterior space, homogeneous equivalence spatial extension have occurred. The purpose in this study examines dematerialized in contemporary space design and light materials and also investigates general and architectural background. The results of this study are as follows. First, circumstances of human have changed from physically limited boundary to unfixed, nonphysical, lightness and vague things. Second, casting off volume in shape and also dissembling exclusive and constructive Third, interior and exterior space by transparency intimates media possibility of information screen. Fourth, seek information and organic response, ambivalent transformation, accumulation of image and new mutual understanding system.

키덜트(Kidult)족의 의복행동 (Clothing Behavior of Kidult Group)

  • This study is a review of the clothing behavior of kidult group that is a new minority group in 21st century. Kidult is the compound word of kid and adult and refers the persons who have become adults but with the inclination to focus on childlike culture and consumption. As the background of the appearance of the kidult group these days, the prevalence of throwback fashions, high valuation of appearance, the phenomenon to prefer light things caused by economic depression, the individualism that does not care about others and the ageless phenomenon that the consumptions are mind age oriented, may be pointed out. The most prominent cloth behavioral characters of the kidult group are that they enjoy bounding color combinations such as candy color and. that cute t-shirts, crop pants and volume skirts of girlish look are easily found. Also, they enjoy toy-like ornaments and illustrated clothes or accessories and the school uniform fashion implying nostalgia for girl-hood and lovely make-up indicate the kidult inclination.

  • Ga0.47In0.53As PIN photodiodes(PD) having various areas have been fabricated by liquid phase epitaxial techniques. Ternary melt has been baked out at 675\ulcorner in H2 atmosphere for 20 hours before growth, which resulted in reduction of background carrier concentration of grown epi-layer. Also, lattice mismatch has been controlled within 0.01%. The room temperature performance of 10**-4cm\ulcornerarea PIN PD at a bias voltage of -5V were` quantum efficiency(with no antireflection coating)=60% for 1.3\ulcorner light source, dark current\ulcorner5nA, and capacitance\ulcornerpE. Frequency response measurement of packaged PIN PD has shown that cut-off frequency (f-3dB) was 961MHz. This PD has shown a good eye pattern when it was incorporated in a 565Mbps optical receiver.

  • This paper describes an image processing method for inspecting the surface outlook of high speed moving plates. Noise free image and a new real time processing methods are required to inspect the surface outlook of the high speed moving plates in real time. It is difficult to get a noise free image due to a signal noise, a light noise and background image in typical industrial factory. Thus, pre-processing techniques should be required to get a good image and produce so many time steps to proceed the image data.   • This article aims to introduce the synchrotron radiation for its utilization in the casting and solidification fields as an unique tool for observation of real time phenomena of molten metal during solidification. General features of the synchrotron radiation were briefly introduced for readers in the casting and solidification fields, with no background regarding to synchrotron radiation. And basic principles of imaging technologies using synchrotron light for in-situ observation of molten metal were explained together with exemplary research works, which were reported on the casting and solidification fields in recent years. As a practical guide, real time observation of Al-Si casting alloy was introduced with experimental facilities, image acquisition, and processing together with representative results.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 지식정보사회가 요구하는 전문사서직의 한 유형으로서 교수사서제의 의의와 적용의 문제 그리고 그 발전 요소들을 논의하는데 있다. 대학사서에게 교수지위를 부여하게 된 배경과 발전과정을 개관하고, 현재 교수지위를 부여하고 있는 미국의 현황을 중심으로 교수사서제가 대학도서관의 발전에 미치는 긍정적, 부정적 영향을 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 대학도서관의 교수사서제가 적용, 발전되기 위해서 검토되어야 할 문제점들을 교수사서의 직위체계, 자격, 평가 그리고 교육의 측면에서 논의하였다.

POLARIZATION AND POLARIMETRY: A REVIEW

  • Polarization is a basic property of light and is fundamentally linked to the internal geometry of a source of radiation. Polarimetry complements photometric, spectroscopic, and imaging analyses of sources of radiation and has made possible multiple astrophysical discoveries. In this article I review (i) the physical basics of polarization: electromagnetic waves, photons, and parameterizations; (ii) astrophysical sources of polarization: scattering, synchrotron radiation, active media, and the Zeeman, Goldreich-Kylafis, and Hanle effects, as well as interactions between polarization and matter (like birefringence, Faraday rotation, or the Chandrasekhar-Fermi effect); (iii) observational methodology: on-sky geometry, influence of atmosphere and instrumental polarization, polarization statistics, and observational techniques for radio, optical, and $X/{\gamma}$ wavelengths; and (iv) science cases for astronomical polarimetry: solar and stellar physics, planetary system bodies, interstellar matter, astrobiology, astronomical masers, pulsars, galactic magnetic fields, gamma-ray bursts, active galactic nuclei, and cosmic microwave background radiation.

View Point Tracking for Parallax Barrier Display Using a Low Cost 3D Imager

  • We present an eye tracking system using a low cost 3D CMOS imager for 3D displays that ensures a correct auto stereoscopic view of position- dependent stereoscopic 3D images. The tracker is capable of segmenting the foreground objects (viewer) from background objects using their relative distance from the camera. The tracker is a novel 3D CMOS Image Sensor based on Time of Flight (TOF) principle using innovating photon gating techniques. The basic feature incorporates real time depth imaging by capturing the shape of a light-pulse front as it is reflected from a three dimensional object. The basic architecture and main building blocks of a real time depth CMOS pixel are described. For this application, we use a stereoscopic type of display using parallax barrier elements that is described as well.
