공동주택 발코니 PV 연계 가정용 BESS의 에너지 절감 효과 분석 (Analysis of Energy Saving Effect of the Residential BESS Connected to the Balcony-PV in Apartment Houses)

  • The government mandates gradually zero energy building and Photovoltaic power generation systems installed in buildings are emerging as the most realistic alternative to increase the independence rate of building energy. In this study, we propose a method to reduce the power consumption of households by increasing the PV capacity of balconies and applying the method used the charged electric power stored in batteries after sunset. In order to evaluate the electric power energy savings of the residential BESS, a balcony PV 1.2 kW and a battery pack 2 kWh were installed for 9 houses in 4 apartments in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The BESS is charged when the balcony PV is generated electric power, and when solar power generation is finished, it supplies power to the electric appliances connected to the load. As a result of installing the solar PV module 1.2 kW and 2 kWh class BESS for 3 households located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, the average electric power consumption saving rate was 40%. The reduction in electricity consumption in the case of zero generation surplus power by maximizing the utilization rate of BESS has been improved to about 53%. Therefore, in order to increase the self-sufficiency rate of electric energy in apartment houses, it is effective to increase the solar photovoltaic capacity of the balcony and apply the residential BESS. In the future, it is believed that the balcony PV and home BESS will play a key role in achieving mandatory zero-energy housing.

  • 본 논문은 독립형 마이크로그리드에서 BESS와 디젤발전기 연계운전 시, LCL 필터와 상호간섭에 의해 전류제어에 영향을 미치는 디젤발전기의 동기인덕턴스를 고려한 전류제어 안정도를 해석하고, 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 검증하였다. BESS-계통 연계, BESS-디젤발전기 연계 및 댐핑기법이 적용된 BESS-디젤발전기 연계에 대한 3가지 운전조건에서 이산시간 영역의 근궤적법을 이용한 전류제어 안정도를 비교하고 해석하였다. 50kW BESS와 디젤발전기로 구성된 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통해 검증하였으며, 실험결과로부터 전류 THD는 2.2%로 안정한 전류제어를 수행하였다.

  • 본 논문은 POSCO ICT가 개발한 2MVA/500kWh급 BESS(Battery Energy Storage System)의 가파도 마이크로그리드 적용사례와 실증결과에 대해 기술하였다. 이를 위해 가파도 마이크로그리드 구성과 BESS 역할을 설명하였고, 적용된 기술을 소개하였다. 또한 시험항목과 의의를 서술하고, 시험결과를 통해 계통망의 전력품질 및 BESS 제어성능을 검증하였다.

BESS 모델링 및 전기철도 급전계통에의 전압보상 적용 (BESS Modeling and Application to Voltage Compensation of Electric Railway System)

  • The load of electric railroad can generate voltage fluctuation in the electric railway system because of high speed of the electric railroad and frequent movement and stop. This voltage fluctuation of electric railway system can cause not only voltage imbalance but also harmonic in the utility grid. Therefore the electric railroad system is in need of the reactive power compensation, such as static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) and static var compensator (SVC). Especially, the battery energy storage system (BESS) can control the real and reactive power at the same time. In this paper, the electric railway system using BESS has been modeled to show its voltage compensation effect using Matlab/Simulink.

  • This paper presents the method to determine the battery capacity for controlling the wind power with BESS for stabilizing the output of HanGeong wind farm in accordance with grid codes for distributed generators in Jeju Island. To find appropriate capacity of BESS, three kinds of simulations are carried out : There are focused on smoothing control, the frequency fluctuation and the renewable energy resources standards, respectively. As the simulation result, maximum C-rates of BESS for the wind farm are calculated as 2C, 5C and 2C that are for each method and battery capacities have 25%, 20% and 10% of total capacity of HanGeong wind farm. Finally, simulations for this paper are carried out by using PSCAD/EMTDC.

BESS가 연계된 배전계통에서 새로운 재폐로 기법 (New Reclosing Technique in Distribution System with Battery Energy Storage System)

  • The study concerning about the grid connection of the large-capacity battery energy storage system(BESS) is increasing. However, the protection study which is necessary to maintain the reliability of distribution system has been hardly performed. Therefore, this paper analyzes the effect of reclosing among protection issues in distribution system with BESS and proposes the new relcosing method. To verify the proposed method, the BESS, distribution system, and proposed method are modeled by using EMTP/ATPDraw and the various simulations according to the fault clearing time are performed. The simulation results show that the reclosing in distribution system with BESS is successfully performed by proposed method and the operation of BESS is not affected from reclosing.

  • 본 논문은 연료비를 최소화 할 수 있는 2차전지 전력저장장치(BESS: Battery Energy Storage System)와 풍력-디젤 복합발전시스템으로 구성되는 독립형 마이크로그리드을 모델링하는 방법과 그 운전제어 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 먼저, 부하변동 및 풍속변동에 따른 주파수와 전압을 일정하게 제어할 수 있는 양방향 DC/AC 컨버터의 BESS를 모델링하고, 디젤발전기는 공급전력의 부족 및 BESS의 충전시에만 가동하도록 하는 운전제어알고리즘을 제안한다. 그리고, 제안된 모델링 방법과 운전제어알고리즘을 독립형 마이크로그리드에 적용한 결과, 풍속 및 부하변화에 대하여 주파수와 전압변동이 적정범위내로 유지할 수 있음을 증명할 수 있었다.

가파도 마이크로그리드 신재생 에너지 전원 구성 방안 (Renewable Energy Configuration Plan of Micro Grid in Gapa Island)

  • This paper presents a renewable energy configuration plan of Micro grid in Gapa Island. To analyze the characteristics of Micro grid, BESS (Battery Energy Storage System), PMSG (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator) and SCIG (Squirrel Cage Induction Generator) are first modelled. The PMSG and SCIG will operate with basis on the real power curve. when the total power demand is larger than the total power generation, the BESS will be operated and the SOC (State Of Charge) is reduced. If the value of SOC could drop down to limited value, the system may be broken because of the voltage drop of BESS. To solve this problem, a DG (Diesel Generator) is used to charge the BESS and keep the voltage value of BESS with in a allowance limit. This paper represents simulation result when PMSG, SCIG connected to the Micro grid installed in Gapa Island. The simulation is carry out by using PSCAD/EMTDC program with actual line constant and transformer parameter in Gapa Island.

수익률을 고려한 수용가측 전자전력저장시스템의 최적용량 선정 (Determination of Optimal sizes of Battery Energy Storage System Considering Rate-Of-Return for Customers-side)

  • This paper discusses the optimal sizes of BESS. The goal must be optimized electricity charge of the customers-side with choosing the time-of-use rates. Therefore the cost is minimized by BESS installed the customers-side. Feasible ROR that means the ratio of capital costs to economic effect owned the optimal BESS sizes is determined the suitable domestic condition based on the battery cost and power converter system cost. Payback period times can be presented by BESS through the ROR. Multi-Pass Dynamic Programming(MPDP) algorithm is applied to the customer for the optimal sizes determination in this paper. It is to solve the optimal solution under the constraints. To investigate the efficiencies of the constraints, it is applied the typical load curve to the high-voltage customer owned Time-Of-Use(TOU) whether BESS is installed or not. Well, The result is obtained that feasible BESS sizes can be achieved the suitable customers-side of meter through the ROR.

독립형 하이브리드 가로등의 BESS 연구 (A Study on the BESS of Stand-alone Hybrid Streetlight)

  • In this paper, we study the BESS of a standalone hybrid street light. The proposed BESS proposed a BESS with the function of efficiently charging irregularly generated power from two or more generators. AC generated by wind power is converted to DC using an AC / DC converter and then to a voltage that can charge the battery through the DC / DC converter. The lack of voltage and current, which is a disadvantage of the MPPT method used in solar power generation, is compensated by the DC value of wind power generation. The compensation method is to convert the DC generated from solar power into a voltage suitable for charging the battery through a DC / DC converter, and then connect the DC generated in wind power in parallel to compensate for the insufficient current to charge the battery in a short time. Allow this to begin. By securing the maximum charging time, the usage time of the stand-alone hybrid street light is huge. Experimental results show that the battery has a short charging time and can be efficiently applied to battery-dependent standalone hybrid street lights.
