For a locally compact Abelian group G, and a commutative Banach algebra B, let $L^1$(G, B) be the Banach algebra of all Bochner integrable functions. We show that if G is noncompact and B is a semiprime Banach algebras in which every minimal prime ideal is cnotained in a regular maximal ideal, then $L^1$(G, B) contains no nontrivial separating idal. As a consequence we deduce some automatic continuity results for $L^1$(G, B).

Let M(X) be the space of all pointwise multipliers of Banach space X. We will show that, for each $\alpha>1$, $M(\mathfrak{B}_\alpha)=M(\mathfrak{B}_{\alpha,0})=H^\infty{(B)}$. We will also show that, for each $0<{\alpha}<1$, $M(\mathfrak{B}_\alpha)$ and $M(\mathfrak{B}_{\alpha,0})$ are Banach algebras. It is established that certain inclusion relationships exist between the weighted Bloch spaces and holomorphic Besov spaces.

Chromosomal aberration tests in vitro using Chinese hamster lung(CHL) cells were carried out to evaluate the possible role of the MeOH extract of Ecklonia stolonifera in modulating the chromosomal damage induced by Mitomycin C(MMC) and Benzo(a)pyrene(B(a)P), respectively. The MeOH extract of Ecklonia stolonifera(260$\mu\textrm{g}$/ml) reduced significantly the incidence of chromosomal aberration induced by treatment with B(a)P by 80%. The suppressive effect was much stronger than that of $\beta$-carotene, which is well known antimu-tagen. However, there was no marked decrease in the chromosomal aberration induced by MMC. In the tests involving chromosomal aberration induced by the treatment of the MeOH extract of Exklonia stlolnifera alone, there was no significant increase in comparison with the negative control. The results would seem to indicate that. at least under the conditions examined, the MeOH extract of Ecklonis stolonifera decreased the chromosomal aberrations induced by B(a)P in the CHL cells, but had little effect on the chromosomal aberration induced by MMC.

사료용 옥수수 “DK 7545” 교잡종은 미국의 Dekalb plant Genetics Co., “Garst 8285”는 Garst Seeds Co., 그리고 GW 737은 Crosbyton Co.에서 각각 육성한 품종들이다. 이들 품종들의 수입 사료작물 지역적응성을 검정하기 위하여, 수원과 천안 2개 지역에서, 3개년 동안 생산력을 검정한 결과, 그 우수성이 인정되어 2002년 농협중앙회 수입적응성 심의위원회에서 신규보급품종으로 결정되었으며 이들 교잡종들의 주요 재배특성은 다음과 같다. 1. DK 7545 가. 본 품종은 중만열 양질 다수성 사료용 옥수수 교잡종으로서 평균 출웅기는 7월 11일, 출웅 소요일수는 78일로 광안옥과 같으며, 간장은 231cm, 착수고는 127cm이며 도복은 비교적 강하다. 나. 이삭의 색은 황색을 띄고 이삭의 열수가 19열로 많은 편이고 호마엽고병에는 강한 편이며 흑조 위축병에는 천안지역에서 0~4.1%까지 발생되었으나 수량에는 큰 영향을 미치지 않았으며 조명나방에는 비교적 강하고 후기 녹색도 정도는 광안옥과 거의 같은 수준이다. 다. 본 품종의 건물 수량성은 19.6톤, TDN 수량은 13.4톤으로 광안옥보다 6~9% 증수되었으며 웅수비율은 43.7%이었다. 2. Garst 8285 가. 본 품종의 평균출웅기 및 출웅 소요일수는 광안옥과 같은 중만도 양질 다수성 사일리지용 옥수수 교잡종이며 득장은 259cm, 착수고는 146cm로 높은 편이며 도복이 강하고 후기 녹색도가 우수한 편이다. 나. 호마엽고병, 흑조 위축병 그리고 조명나방의 보장저항성은 대체로 표준품종 광안옥과 거의 같은 수준이다. 다. ha당 건물수량성은 21,735kg, TDN 수량은 14,627kg으로 광안옥보다 각각 21% 및 16% 증수되었으며 웅수비율은 44.2%였다. 3. GW 737 가. 본 품종의 평균 출웅기는 7월 13일로 광안옥보다 2일 늦으며 출웅 소요일수는 80일의 중만영 양질 다수성 사료용 옥수수 교잡종이다. 다. 호마엽고병, 흑조 위축병에는 강한 편이며, 조방나방에는 비교적 강하다. 라. ha당 건물수량은 18,025kg, TDN 수량은 15,164kg으로 광안옥보다 각각 26% 및 20%나 증수되는 초다수성 사료용 옥수수 교잡종이다.

This study was conducted to demonstrate the practical use of the buffer index curve as a criterion of silage quality evaluation, Forty five samples of the ensiled Italian ryegrass were collected from farms in Okayama, Japan. Silages were devided into 4 groups by the pattern of buffer index curve. Heavy wilting silages (A group) showed no peak on buffer index curve and Flieg's score of 95.6. However, moderate or weak wilting silages (B group) with moisture content of 63.3 showed a peak at pH 4.0 and a Flieg's score of 67.8. Both of A and B groups were regarded as a good quality silage. Silages (C group) with a peak at pH 4.5 were of a medium quality with Flieg's score of 45.3. Poorly preserved silages (D group) with Flieg's score of 12.0 had a peak at pH 5.0. There was a high positive correlationship (p<0.01) between the peak value of buffer index curve and the organic acid content.

Hypoxia-inducible factor-$1{\alpha}/{\beta}$ (HIF-$1{\alpha}/{\beta}$) is a heterodimeric transcriptional activator that mediates gene expression in response to hypoxia. HIF-$1{\alpha}$ has been noted as an effective therapeutic target for ischemic diseases such as myocardiac infarction, stroke and cancer. By using a yeast two-hybrid system and a random peptide library, we found a 16-mer peptide named F29 that directly interacts with the bHLH-PAS domain of HIF-$1{\alpha}$. We found that F29 facilitates the interaction of the HIF-$1{\alpha/\beta}$ heterodimer with its target DNA sequence, hypoxia-responsive element (HRE). The transient transfection of an F29-expressing plasmid increases the expression of both an HRE-driven luciferase gene and the endogenous HIF-1 target gene, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Taken together, we conclude that F29 increases the DNA-binding ability of HIF-$1{\alpha}$, leading to increased expression of its target gene VEGF. Our results suggest that F29 can be a lead compound that directly targets HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and increases its activity.

Re(O)(PPh3)2Cl3과 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluoroaniline (C6F5NH2)의 반응으로 Re(NC6F5)(PPh3)2Cl3 생성물을 얻었다. 이 화합물의 구조를 1H-NMR, 원소분석, 그리고 X-ray 회절법으로 규명하였다. 화합물을 사방정계로 (Pna21, a=18.763Å, b=14.737(2)Å, c=16.707(3)Å, Z=4) 결정화되었다. 최소자승법으로 구조를 정밀화한 결과 신뢰도는 R(wR2) = 0.0455(0.1148)였다.

In this paper, vibration characteristics in terms of the airfoil cross-sectional shape was examined by using the EDISON co-rotational plane beam-transient analysis. Assuming aircraft wing as a cantilevered beam with a constant cross-sectional shape, natural frequencies of each airfoil shape was compared while varying airfoil maximum thickness and maximum camber length, using Fast Fourier Transformation(FFT). When the airfoil maximum thickness was varied, natural frequency showed peak value at 18% chord, and decreased afterwards. When the airfoil maximum camber length was varied, natural frequency either increased or decreased at 6% chord, while at 8% the natural frequency showed its maximum. Applying such trends to B-737 wing airfoil, an improved B-737_mod airfoil shape was obtained with regard to the vibration characteristics.
