Structural and Morphological Behavior of TiO2 Rutile Obtained by Hydrolysis Reaction of Na2Ti3O7

  • The structural transformation behavior of $Na_2Ti_3O_7$ by hydrolysis was investigated in mild and strong acidic aqueous medium. Compared with $K_2Ti_4O_9,\;Na_2Ti_3O_7$ exhibits quite different structural and morphological transformation behavior despite their similar layered structural characteristics. $TiO_2(B)$ obtained by heat treatment of $H_2Ti_3O_7\;at\;350^{\circ}C$ transforms to rutile $H_2Ti_3O_7\;at\;900^{\circ}C$. This temperature is much lower than $1200{\circ}C$, the temperature for anatase to rutile transition when $K_2Ti_4O_9$ is used as a starting titanate. A rectangular rod shape and size of $TiO_2(B)$ particles obtained from $Na_2Ti_3O_7$ is also different from a fibrous structure of $TiO_2(B)$ prepared using $K_2Ti_4O_9$. Rutile crystals of 100 nm diameter with a corn-like morphology and large surface area are directly obtained when the hydrolysis of $Na_2Ti_3O_7$ is carried out at $100^{\circ}C$ in a strong acid solution. The structure of starting titanates and the hydrolysis conditions are an important factor to decide the particle size and morphology of $TiO_2(B)\;and\;TiO_2$.

Preparation of Ag2Se-Graphene-TiO2 Nanocomposite and its Photocatalytic Degradation (Rh B)

  • Here, utilizing rhodamine B (RhB) as standard color dye, we examined the photo degradation proficiency of $Ag_2Se-Graphene-TiO_2$ nanocomposites under visible light irradiation; samples were prepared by ultrasonication techniques and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopic investigation and UV-Vis absorbance spectra examination. Our outcomes demonstrate that the $Ag_2Se-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite showed significant photodegradation efficiency as compared with those of $TiO_2-G$ and $Ag_2Se-G$, with around 85.2% of Rhodamine B (RhB) degraded after 180 min. It is concluded that the $Ag_2Se-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite is a competent candidate for dye pollutants.

Ultrasonic Synthesis of CoSe2-Graphene-TiO2 Ternary Composites for High Photocatalytic Degradation Performance

  • In this study, we examined the photo-degradation efficiency of $CoSe_2$-Graphene-$TiO_2$ ($CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$) nanocomposites under visible light irradiation using rhodamine B (RhB) as standard dye. $CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposites were synthesized by ultrasonication and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopic analysis and UV-Vis absorbance spectra analysis. Our results show that the $CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite exhibited significant photo degradation efficiency compared to pure $TiO_2$ and $CoSe_2-G$, approximately 85.2% of the rhodamine (Rh B) degraded after 2.5 h. It is concluded that the $CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite is a promising candidate for use in dye pollutants.

광전기촉매 공정과 전기/UV 공정을 이용한 Rhodamine B의 색 제거 (Decolorization of a Rhodamine B Using Photoelectrocatalytic and Electrolytic/UV Process)

  • The feasibility study of the application of the photoelectrocatalytic and electrolytic/UV decolorization of Rhodamine B (RhB) was investigated in the photoelectrocatalytic and electrolytic/UV process with $TiO_2$ photoelectrode and DSA (dimensionally stable anode) electrode. Three types of $TiO_2$ photoelectrode were used. Thermal oxidation electrode (Th-$TiO_2$) was made by oxidation of titanium metal sheet; sol-gel electrode (5G-$TiO_2$) and powder electrode (P-$TiO_2$) were made by coating and then heating a layer of titania sol-gel and slurry $TiO_2$ on titanium sheet. DSA electrodes were Ti and Ru/Ti electrode. The relative performance for RhB decolorization of each of the photoelecoodes and DSA electrodes is: Ru/Ti > Ti > SG-$TiO_2$ > Th-$TiO_2$. It was observed that photoelectrocatalytic decolorization of RhB is similar to the sum of the photocatalytic and electrolytic decolorization. Therefore the synergetic effect was not showed in pthotoelectrocatalytic reaction. $Na_{2}SO_{4}$ and NaCl showed different decolorization effect between pthotoelectrocatalytic and electrolytic/UV reaction. In the presence of the NaCl, RhB decolorization of Ru/Ti DSA electrode was higher than that of the other photoelectrode and Ti electrode. Optimum current, NaCl dosage and UV lamp power of the electrolytic/UV process (using Ru/Ti electrode) were 0.75 A, 0.5 g/L and 16 W, respectively.

높은 반사율과 저유전율이 요구되는 PDP의 후면 유전체 층의 전기적 특성 (Electrical properties of the lower dielectrics layer of PDP required high reflectance and low dielectric constants)

  • 본 논문에서는 $SiO_2-ZnO-B_2O_3$ 계 및 $P_2O_5$-ZnO-BaO 계의 반사율과 유전특성을 $TiO_2$의 양에 따라 조사하였다. 반사율은 $TiO_2$ 함량이 증가함에 따랴 감소하였다 여기서 $P_2O_5$-ZnO-BaO계는 $SiO_2-ZnO-B_2O_3$ 계보다 더 낮은 반사율을 나타내었으며, 유전상수는 $P_2O_5$-ZnO-BaO 계가 $SiO_2-ZnO-B_2O_3$ 계보다 높았다. 두 계 모두 유전상수는 $TiO_2$의 양에 따라 증가하는 특성을 보였다. 이 결과는 높은 반사율과 항복특성이 요구되는 PDP디스플레이의 후면 유전층에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

  • The effects of B2O3 addition on the sintering behavior and th microwave dielectric properties of $(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ ceramics were investigated. By addition of $B_2O_3$, increases the density of the ceramics increases and grain growth enhances, It was densified to over 94% of $(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ theoretical density by the addition of 0.15-1.0wt% B2O3 and stable microwave dielectric properties observed by the addition of 0.2-0.4wt% $B_2O_3.\;(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ ceramics sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ exhibits maximum dielectric constants of 24-25 quality factor($Q{\times}f$) of more than 70000 and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency of $0\;ppm/^{\circ}C$ by adding of 0.15-0.4wt% $B_2O_3$.

$Bi_4$$Ti_3$$O_{12}$ 박막에서 Bi-O 결합과 전기 물성에 대한 Ta 치환의 영향 (The Effect of Ta-substitution on the Bi-O Bonding and the Electrical Properties of $Bi_4$$Ti_3$$O_{12}$ Thin Films)

  • 본 연구에서는 알콕사이드를 전구물질로 하는 졸겔공정을 이용하여 Bi 과잉 12 mol%의 조성인 B $i_4$ $Ti_3$ $O_{12}$ 박막과 B $i_4$ $Ti_{3-x}$T $a_{x}$ $O_{12}$(x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3) 박막을 제조하였다. XPS 분석에 따르면 Ta 치환 x=0.2에서 Bi 4f의 photoemission 곡선이 낮은 결합에너지로 이동하였고 피크 강도가 감소하는 현상이 관측되었다. 이는 x=0.1과 0.2 사이에서 Bi-O 결합이 길어져 인장상태 하에 있었음을 나타내었다. B $i_4$ $Ti_3$ $O_{12}$(BIT) 박막의 유전상수와 유전손실은 100 kHz에서 340, 0.05이었고, B $i_4$ $Ti_{3-x}$T $a_{x}$ $O_{12}$ 박막에서 이들 값은 x=0.1에서 가장 높았으며, 각각 480, 0.13이었다. B $i_4$ $Ti_3$ $O_{12}$ 박막의 잔류분극과 항전계는 1.24$\mu$C/$ extrm{cm}^2$, 31.4 kV/cm 이었으나, Ta 치환 x=0.2에서 이들 값은 각각 19.7$\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$, 49.5 kV/cm 에 이르렀다. 또한, B $i_4$ $Ti_3$ $O_{12}$ 박막의 누설전류 밀도는 ~$10^{-6}$ A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 정도이었으며, Ta 치환은 누설전류를 감소시켜 Ta 치환 x=0.2 이상에서 BIT 박막에 비해 한 차수 정도 낮아졌다. Ta 치환에 따른 B $i_4$ $Ti_3$ $O_{12}$ 전기 물성에서 변화는 Bi-O 결합에서 관측된 인장상태로의 전이와 연관성이 있었으며, 덧붙여 치환에서 생성된 전자에 의한 정공보상이 이에 영향을 끼쳤다. 정공보상이 이에 영향을 끼쳤다.끼쳤다.

자전연소합성법에 의한 TiB2 분말의 제조에 있어 반응성에 대한 반응변수의 고찰 (The Investigation of Reaction Parameters on the Reactivity in the Preparation of TiB2 by SHS)

  • The preparation of $TiB_2$ by SHS in $B_2O_3-Mg-TiO_2$ system was investigated in this study. In the preparation of $TiB_2$, the effect on reactivity and reaction products of the initial pressure of inert gas in reactor, the content of Mg and $TiO_2$ in mixture was investigated. The minimum initial pressure of inert gas in reactor for SHS reaction in this system was 5atm, and as the pressure increased, the concentration of unreacted Mg decreased and combustion temperature increased. At the initial inert gas pressure in reactor of 50atm, the optimum composition for the preparation of pure $TiB_2$ was $B_2O_3+5Mg+TiO_2$. The $TiB_2$ synthesized in this condition had an irregular shape and the particle size of $1\~3{\mu}m$.

GF/C에 고정된 TiO2와 유동층 반응기를 이용한 Rhodamine B의 광촉매 탈색 (Photocatalytic Decolorization of Rhodamine B using Immobilized TiO2 onto GF/C and Fluidized Bed Reactor)

  • The photocatalytic oxidation of Rhodamine B (RhB) was studied using immobilized TiO$_2$ and fluidized bed reactor. Immobilized TiO$_2$ onto GF/C was employed as the photocatalyst and a 30 W germicidal lamp was used as the light source and the reactor volume was 4.8 L. The effects of parameters such as the amounts of photocatalyst, initial concentration, initial pH, air flow rate and anion additives (NO$_3$$\^$-/, SO$_4$$\^$2-/, Cl$\^$-/, CO$_3$$\^$2-/) competing for reaction. The results showed that the optimum dosage of the immobilized TiO$_2$ was 40.0 g/L. Initial removal rate of immobilized TiO$_2$ was expressed Langmuir - Hinshelwood equation.

YAG와 기공에 의한 $SiC-TiB_2$ 전도성세라믹 복합체의 특성 평가 (Estimation of the Properties for the $SiC-TiB_2$ Electroconductive Ceramic Composites by YAG and Porosity)

  • The mechanical and electrical properties of the hot-pressed and pressureless annealed SiC-39vo1.%TiB$_2$electroconductive ceramic composites were investigated as functions of the liquid additives of $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ and the sintering temperature. The result of phase analysis for the SiC-39vo1.%TiB$_2$ composites by XRD revealed $\alpha -SiC(6H),\; TiB_2,\; and YAG(Al_5Y_3O_{12})$ crystal phase. The relative density of SiC-39vo1.% $TiB_2$ composites was increased with increased $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ contents. The fracture toughness showed the highest value of $7.8 MPa.m_{1/2}$ for composites added with 12 wt% $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$additives at $1750^{\circk}C$. The electrical resistivity of the SiC-39vo1.%$TiB_2$composites was all positive temperature coefficient resistance(PTCR) in the temperature range of $25S^{\circ}C \;to\; 700^{\circ}C$.
