  • As RFID/USN technology is used in the latest industry trend, the information analysis paradigm shifts to intelligence service environment. The intelligent service includes autonomic operation, which select activity by defining itself to the status of industry facilities. Furthermore, information analysis based on IT used to frequently data mining for detecting the meaning information and deriving new pattern. This paper suggest self-classifying of context-aware by applying data mining in gas facilities for serving the intelligent gas safety management. We modify data algorithm for fitting the domain of gas safety, construct context-aware model by using the proposed algorithm, and demonstrate our method. As the accuracy of our model is improved over 90%, the our approach can apply to intelligent gas safety management based on RFID/USN environments.

  • In addition to classic cholinergic and adrenergic pathways, the existence of a third division of autonomic control in the human airways has been proved. It is called a nonadrenergic noncholinergic(NANC) nervous system, and difficult to study in the absence of specific blockers. Neuropeptides are certainly suggested to be transmitters of this NANC nervous system. It is very frustrating to understand the pathophysiologic role of these peptides in the absence of any specific antagonists. However, further studies of neuropeptides might eventually lead to novel forms of treatment for bronchial asthma. Another study of the interaction between different components of the autonomic nervous system, either in ganglionic neurotransmission or by presynaptic modulation of neurotransmitters at the end-organ will elute neural control in airway disease, particularly in asthma. Studies of how autonomic control may be disordered in airway disease should lead to improvements in clinical management. Epithelial damage due to airway inflammation in asthma may induce bronchial hyperresponsiveness. Axon reflex mechanism is one of possible mechanisms in bronchial hyperresponsiveness. Epithelial damage may expose sensory nerve terminals and C-fiber nrve endings are stimulated by inflammatory mediators. Bi-directional communication between the nerves and mast cells may have important roles in allergic process. The psychological factors and conditioning of allergic reactions is suggested that mast cell activation might be partly regulated by the central nervous system via the peripheral nerves. Studies in animal models, in huamn airways in vitro and in patients with airway disease will uncover the interaction between allergic disease processes and psychologic factors or neural mechainsms.

  • A middleware in grid computing environment is required to support seamless on-demand services over diverse resource situations in order to meet various user requirements [1]. Since grid computing applications need situation-aware middleware services in this environment. In this paper, we propose a semantic middleware architecture to support dynamic software component reconfiguration based fault and service ontology to provide fault-tolerance in a grid computing environment. Our middleware includes autonomic management to detect faults, analyze causes of them, and plan semantically meaningful strategies to recover from the failure using pre-defined fault and service ontology trees. We implemented a referenced prototype, Web-service based Application Execution Environment(Wapee), as a proof-of-concept, and showed the efficiency in runtime recovery.

  • Acute pandysautonomic neuropathy(APN) is an uncommon clinical entitiy involving vasomotor, sudomotor, pupilomotor, secretomotor and other autonomic systems. Both sympathetic or parasympathetic fibers are involved with relative preservation of somatic sensory and motor function. Although APN shares several clinical features with GBS, it is not clear whether APN is a subvariety of GBS. We report two young patients with APN. Patient 1 was a 18-year-old girl with recurrent fainting spells. Patient 2 was a 23-year-old man sufferring from unexplained nausea and vomiting. Both had a history of previous upper respiratory infection. They presented with gastroparesis, anhydrosis and orthostatic hypotension. Mild numbness and tingling sense was present, but motor power was intact. Neurologic examination showed bilateral tonic pupil, decreased pain and vibration sense, and absent tendon reflexes. Nerve conduction study indicated diffuse sensorimotor polyneuropathy. Nerve biopsy in patient 2 revealed axonal degeneration. After conservative management, gastrointestinal symptoms were improved in patient 2, however, patient 1 suffered from the symptoms lasting more than several months. These cases suggest that post-infectious dysautonomic symptoms in young patient may indicate the diagnosis of APN. Although the natural course is generally benign, accurate diagnosis and proper management may be mandatory for the better clinical outcome.

  • Pediatric kidney transplantation is the best option since it can achieve near normal glomerular filtration rate, adequate fluid balance, and autonomic endocrine function of the kidney in end-stage kidney disease. However, pediatric kidney transplantation is difficult because children are developing and growing, management and complications of pediatric kidney transplantation are different from those of adults. This review covers the current status of pediatric kidney transplantation in Korea, key considerations that must be taken before kidney transplantation in children, and management strategy of immunosuppression and common complications.

  • Recently, there has been constituted the government regulations and the normative methods to control the safety management activities in construction fields, but almost of these regulations are ineffective, because of some characteristics safety management have. The needs of the times make government regulations and the normative methods change to autonomic management methods. In this context, it is significant certainly to improve the standard of safety management that is used as a tool to protect the workers from the accidents or industrial disasters in the construction field. In this research, it will be showed that the outside regulations and safety management systems of the head office have their limits to reflect the safety managements of field participants. Then, it will be presented the improved model of self-control safety management activities which is essential for success safety management.

  • Objectives Obesity is the major risk factor of the heart disease and the metabolic disease. The autonomic nervous system is a key contributor in the regulation of energy balance, so the blunted activity may contribute to the maintenance of the obese state. So we evaluated the function of the autonomic nervous system in young overweight and obese women with heart rate variability. Methods The subjects were 26 overweight and obese young women(BMI〉$23kg/m^2$) and 25 lean women who visited Kangnam Kyunghee hospital for obesity management from March 2006 to April 2008. Bioimpedance Analysis (BIA), short-term spectral analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) were performed. Results HRV of obese young group was lower than the lean young group, but there is no statistical significance. BMI had significantly a negative correlation with Low Frequency(LF) of HRV. LF power is mediated by sympathetic nervous system activity. These results indicate a decrease of sympathetic modulation in overweight and obese young women. Conclusions Overweight and obese young women have decreased sympathetic nervous system activity. In clinical practice, an assessement of HRV would be noninvasive and sensitive methods for sympathetic nervous system of young overweight and obese women.

  • This study investigates the relationship between a mother's self-differentiation and the rearing reviews focused on the mediating effect for the early adjustment of 1 to 2 years old at a nursery. First, the results based on the difference between the child-rearing attitudes of the level of self-differentiation show significance in the affectional-autonomic attitude in the top quarter of the total level of self-differentiation. Second, the level of the self-differentiation depends on the early adjustment results from the significant differences in the sub-elements; except for the emotional fusion that results in the higher the level of mother's self-differentiation that leads to higher early adjustment. Third, the impact of affectional-autonomic and affectional-controlling attitude reflected the positive influence of the entire early adjustment based on the effect of the child-rearing attitude. Finally, the results on whether the mothers' parenting attitudes influences the self-differentiation and the transition of the infant would mediate the early adjustment-relationship as shown in the mediating effect of parenting attitudes. Each type of mediation effect showed an affectional-autonomic and affectional-controlling attitude. In this study, the mother's self-differentiation and the infant nursery process shows the early adjustment associated with variables, the mother's level of self-differentiation, and the parenting attitude that effects the early adjustment that examined the mediation effect in the relations of self-differentiation and the early adjustment of child-rearing attitudes.

  • This study was designed to identify how the incidence and severity of premenstrual. syndrome (PMS) correlate with the nutrient intakes and exercise habit of women. The subjects of this study were 299 women residing in Busan metropolitan city. Each subject was asked to complete a menstrual discomfort questionnaire (MDQ) for PMS and nutrient intakes. PMS symptom scores of women in their twenties ranked in order of severity were: behavioral change (2.45), followed by pain (2.36) and water retention (2.28), negative effects (2.20), autonomic reaction (1.91), arousal (1.87), decreased concentration (1.76) and decreased control (1.74). For Women in their thirties, the symptom of pain was the most dominant (2.93) followed by autonomic reaction (2.69) and behavioral change (2.54), and for those in their forties, negative effect (3.06) was highest, followed by pain (2.97) and autonomic reaction (2.86). The overall symptoms of PMS significantly increased with age (20': 2.07 points, 30': 2.34 points, 40': 2.47 points). There was no correlation of the BMI of the subjects with the symptoms of PMS, but there was a significant negative correlation between the symptoms of PMS and exercise frequency for women in their thirties and forties. Subjects in their twenties exhibited a significant negative correlation for PMS symptoms with the intake of carbohydrate (p < 0.05), calcium (p < 0.05) and vitamin E (p < 0.05). For subjects in their thirties, PMS symptoms were negatively correlated with the intake of calcium (p < 0.05) and vitamin C (p < 0.05); and in women in their forties, calcium (p < 0.01) and carbohydrate (p < 0.05) intakes were negatively correlated with PMS symptoms. This suggests that PMS represents the clinical manifestation of a nutrient deficiency state, especially calcium. Therefore, we concluded that nutrient supplementation and exercise management are likely to be of benefit in relieving PMS symptoms.
