The importance of automatic discrimination image data has evolved as a research topic over recent years. We have used forward neural network as a classifier using sound data features within image data, our initial tests have shown encouraging results that indicate the viability of our approach.
Tumors of the brain are the deadliest, with a life expectancy of only a few years for those with the most advanced forms. Diagnosing a brain tumor is critical to developing a treatment plan to help patients with the disease live longer. A misdiagnosis of brain tumors will lead to incorrect medical treatment, decreasing a patient's chance of survival. Radiologists classify brain tumors via biopsy, which takes a long time. As a result, the doctor will need an automatic classification system to identify brain tumors. Image classification is one application of the deep learning method in computer vision. One of the deep learning's most powerful algorithms is the convolutional neural network (CNN). This paper will introduce a novel deep learning structure and image gradient to classify brain tumors. Meningioma, glioma, and pituitary tumors are the three most popular forms of brain cancer represented in the Figshare dataset, which contains 3,064 T1-weighted brain images from 233 patients. According to the numerical results, our method is more accurate than other approaches.
An automatic approach and strategy for extracting building information from aerial images using combined image analysis and interpretation techniques is described in this paper. A dense DSM is obtained by stereo image matching. Multi-band classification, DSM, texture segmentation and Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) are used to reveal building interest areas. Then, based on the derived approximate building areas, a shape modelling algorithm based on the level set formulation of curve and surface motion has been used to precisely delineate the building boundaries. Data fusion, based on the Dempster-Shafer technique, is used to interpret simultaneously knowledge from several data sources of the same region, to find the intersection of propositions on extracted information derived from several datasets, together with their associated probabilities. A number of test areas, which include buildings with different sizes, shape and roof colour have been investigated. The tests are encouraging and demonstrate that the system is effective for building extraction, and the determination of more accurate elevations of the terrain surface.

Plants are important for humanity. They intervene in several areas of human life: medicine, nutrition, cosmetics, decoration, etc. The large number of varieties of these plants requires an efficient solution to identify them for proper use. The ease of recognition of these plants undoubtedly depends on the classification of these species into family; however, finding the relevant characteristics to achieve better automatic classification is still a huge challenge for researchers in the field. In this paper, we have developed a new automatic plant classification technique based on artificial neural networks. Our model uses leaf texture characteristics as parameters for plant family identification. The results of our model gave a perfect classification of three plant families of the Ivorian flora, with a determination coefficient (R2) of 0.99; an error rate (RMSE) of 1.348e-14, a sensitivity of 84.85%, a specificity of 100%, a precision of 100% and an accuracy (Accuracy) of 100%. The same technique was applied on Flavia: the international basis of plants and showed a perfect identification regression (R2) of 0.98, an error rate (RMSE) of 1.136e-14, a sensitivity of 84.85%, a specificity of 100%, a precision of 100% and a trueness (Accuracy) of 100%. These results show that our technique is efficient and can guide the botanist to establish a model for many plants to avoid identification problems.
The use of increased computing power, machine learning, and deep learning techniques have dramatically increased in various sectors. In particular, image detection algorithms are broadly used in forestry and remote sensing areas to identify forest types and tree species. However, in South Korea, machine learning has rarely, if ever, been applied in forestry image detection, especially to classify tree species. This study integrates the application of machine learning and forest image detection; specifically, we compared the ability of two machine learning data collection methods, namely image data captured by forest experts (D1) and web-crawling (D2), to automate the classification of five trees species. In addition, two methods of characterization to train/test the system were investigated. The results indicated a significant difference in classification accuracy between D1 and D2: the classification accuracy of D1 was higher than that of D2. In order to increase the classification accuracy of D2, additional data filtering techniques were required to reduce the noise of uncensored image data.

In order to design the automatic processing system of image document, the pattern segmentation of image document and classification methods are presented. The contour extraction using first order differential operator of Gauassian distribution fucntions, the image segmentation using the chain code, and the pattern classication using the second order moments and two=dimensional Rf distance(in transform domain) are implemented. The resuts applied in specially documantated image shows to classify the characters, fingerprints, seals etc well. And the utility of the used algorithms is verified.
Concrete is an important material in most of civil constructions. Many properties of concrete can be determined through analysis of concrete images. Image segmentation is the first step for the most of these analyses. An automated system for segmentation of concrete images into microstructures using texture analysis is proposed. The performance of five different classifiers has been evaluated and the results show that using an Artificial Neural Network classifier is the best choice for an automatic image segmentation of concrete.
Numerous investigations have explored the integration of machine leaning algorithms with high-resolution drone image for object detection in urban settings. However, a prevalent limitation in vehicle extraction studies involves the reliance on bounding boxes rather than instance segmentation. This limitation hinders the precise determination of vehicle direction and exact boundaries. Instance segmentation, while providing detailed object boundaries, necessitates labour intensive labelling for individual objects, prompting the need for research on automating unsupervised instance segmentation in vehicle extraction. In this study, a novel approach was proposed for vehicle extraction utilizing unsupervised SVM classification applied to vehicle bounding boxes in drone images. The method aims to address the challenges associated with bounding box-based approaches and provide a more accurate representation of vehicle boundaries. The study showed promising results, demonstrating an 89% accuracy in vehicle extraction. Notably, the proposed technique proved effective even when dealing with significant variations in spectral characteristics within the vehicles. This research contributes to advancing the field by offering a viable solution for automatic and unsupervised instance segmentation in the context of vehicle extraction from image.
The spectral information based image analysis, visual interpretation and automatic classification have been widely carried out so far for remote sensing data processing. Yet recently, many researchers have tried to extract the spatial information which cannot be expressed directly in the image itself. Using the texture and wavelet scheme, we made a wavelet-based texture fusion image which includes the advantages of each scheme. Moreover, using these schemes, we carried out image classification for the urban spatial analysis and the geological structure analysis around the caldera area. These two case studies showed that image classification accuracy of texture image and wavelet-based texture fusion image is better than that of using only raw image. In case of the urban area using high resolution image, as both texture and wavelet based texture fusion image are added to the original image, the classification accuracy is the highest. Because detailed spatial information is applied to the urban area where detail pixel variation is very significant. In case of the geological structure analysis using middle and low resolution image, the images added by only texture image showed the highest classification accuracy. It is interpreted to be necessary to simplify the information such as elevation variation, thermal distribution, on the occasion of analyzing the relatively larger geological structure like a caldera. Therefore, in the image analysis using spatial information, each spatial information analysis method should be carefully selected by considering the characteristics of the satellite images and the purpose of study.
An automatic visual classification system is introduced which provides for measuring the length and diameter of coilform cores and dividing them into 5 different classed in terms of how far their length be from the desired length. This task is fully automated by controlling two STEP motors and by using image processing techniques. The classification procedure is broken into three logical parts, First, cores in the form of randomly stacked bundle are lined up one by one so as to be well captured by a camera. The second part involves capturing core image. Then, it enters the measuring process. Finally, this machine would retain all the information relating to the length. According to the final result, cores are sent to the corresponding bin. This considerably simplifies the selecting task and facilitates a greatly improved reliablity in precision. The average classifying capability is about 2 pieces per second.
