Canonical correlation analysis based fault diagnosis method for structural monitoring sensor networks

  • The health conditions of in-service civil infrastructures can be evaluated by employing structural health monitoring technology. A reliable health evaluation result depends heavily on the quality of the data collected from the structural monitoring sensor network. Hence, the problem of sensor fault diagnosis has gained considerable attention in recent years. In this paper, an innovative sensor fault diagnosis method that focuses on fault detection and isolation stages has been proposed. The dynamic or auto-regressive characteristic is firstly utilized to build a multivariable statistical model that measures the correlations of the currently collected structural responses and the future possible ones in combination with the canonical correlation analysis. Two different fault detection statistics are then defined based on the above multivariable statistical model for deciding whether a fault or failure occurred in the sensor network. After that, two corresponding fault isolation indices are deduced through the contribution analysis methodology to identify the faulty sensor. Case studies, using a benchmark structure developed for bridge health monitoring, are considered in the research and demonstrate the superiority of the new proposed sensor fault diagnosis method over the traditional principal component analysis-based and the dynamic principal component analysis-based methods.

Effective Demand Lifting through Pre-Launch Movie Marketing Activities

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine empirically how to balance advertising expenditure before and after launch with regard to the direction of word of mouth in the motion picture industry. The vector auto-regression model is applied to assess the dynamic impact of advertising and word of mouth on sales. Empirical data, including advertising, word of mouth, and sales (the number of entries) of 83 movies are used for analysis. The research results show that for a movie having more positive word of mouth in the pre- and post-launch periods, it is worthwhile to spend the advertising budget in the pre-launch period only and to spare it in post-launch period. However, it is worthwhile to spare the advertising budget in the pre-launch period for movies having less positive word of mouth before and after launch, and to concentrate spending in post-launch period instead. Mangers who handle products and services facing shortened lifecycles, such as games, eBooks, and digital music contents, need to check the quality of pre-launch word of mouth for their advertising budget decisions in the pre- and post-launch periods and spend more of the advertising budget in the post- (pre-) launch period if pre-launch word of mouth is negative (positive). For products and services with a shortened lifecycle, it is recommended to spend more of the advertising budget in the post- (pre-) launch period if pre-launch word of mouth is negative (positive).

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between Art management and Cultural activities in China from the K-wave case. Research design, data, and methodology: This study used the method of the cases study survey, with the K-wave case in as the survey objects, 3 valid survey sample case were collected in this paper. Results: The two dimensions of art management and cultural activities differently influences from the K-wave, and the influence of availability on customer satisfaction is not significant. Conclusion: The results of this study will provide useful reference for the Art management and Cultural activities in China from the K-wave case. And improve the development of art management and cultural activities in China by improving the K-wave of service quality. Art management can shape urban commercial space in a beneficial way, create a good consumption atmosphere, and enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the city. The introduction of art elements into urban commercial space can create a strong cultural atmosphere, so that the city presents a smart look. Art management has a positive impact on K-Wave production and operation activities, which can promote the shaping of art commercial space, the promotion of urban cultural atmosphere.

  • Recently, the introduction of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) has been attempted to solve the limitation of only the sensor of the vehicle itself. For example, vehicles traveling at intersections can drive more safely through C-ITS. By using V2X communication of WAVE and LTE, the driver can receive the status and time of traffic lights. However, LTE has a larger transmission delay time than WAVE, so timimg data may not match in real time. In this paper, using the SPaT message, it was confirmed that LTE has a larger C-ITS service transmission delay time than WAVE. Finally, it was confirmed that the timing data of SPaT provided by LTE corrected by the algorithm is similar to SPaT provided by WAVE. It was confirmed that safer intersection driving is possible based on real-time.

  • For the commercialization and standardization of autonomous vehicles, demand for rigorous safety criteria has been increased over the world. In Korea, the number of extraordinary service permission for automated vehicles has risen since Hyundai Motor Company got its initial license in March 2016. Nevertheless, licensing standards and evaluation factors are still insufficient for operating on public roadways. To assure driving safety, it is significant to verify whether or not the vehicle's decision is similar to human driving. This paper validates the safety of the autonomous vehicle by drawing scenario-based comparisons between manual driving and autonomous driving. In consideration of real traffic situations and safety priority, seven scenarios were chosen and classified into basic and advanced scenarios. All scenarios and safety factors are constructed based on existing ADAS requirements and investigated via a computer simulation and actual experiment. The input data was collected by an experimental vehicle test on the SNU FMTC test track located at Siheung. Then the offline simulation was conducted to verify the output was appropriate and comparable to the manual driving data.

  • In order to verify autonomous driving scenarios and safety, a lot of driving and accident data is needed, so various organizations are conducting classification and analysis of traffic accident types. In this study, it was determined that accident recording devices such as EDR (Event Data Recorder) and DSSAD (Data Storage System for Automated Driving) would become an objective standard for analyzing the causes of autonomous vehicle accidents, and traffic accidents that occurred from 2015 to 2020 were analyzed. Using the database system of IGLAD (Initiative for the Global Harmonization of Accident Data), approximately 360 accident data of EDR-equipped vehicles were classified and their characteristics were analyzed by comparing them with accident types of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System)-equipped vehicles. It will be used to develop autonomous vehicle accident investigation guidelines in the future.

The first like a men power reduction, inorder to meet and satisfying with cost reduction policy of the holding firms and secondly, escalation and expention of business networks or facilities inorder to meet and satis~'ing with customers continuously seeking for prompt, acurate, and helpfulness service nearly like one similar to a door to door service. Accordingly, the firms eventually poured mere sweaty money into procuring such devices for upgrading. On the contrary, however, regardless the escalation monetary expenditure may be, inorder to promote quality of the same devices are keen necessary because present days customer groups were tended to receives ample service almost like door to door service without moving too$$\mu$h apart from the immediate spot where they belongs tl or veryspot of where actually they spend instead of deep consideration of natures, quality or sttractiveness of service medias what they can received from. Under the present circumstance, the financial business firms, however, would highly suffering and recei\ulcornerves pressures from imblalance natures ofincoming and out go of the business budget due to excessive inc1ease of managerial expences. For these reasons, therefor, in order to solves, compensates, improves, and developes most effective fina\ulcornerncial service for customers can use under most pleasant environment, the establishment of adequate standardization of such service devices based on the foregoing environmental circumstances. This analytical study, therefor, mainly aimed and emphasized based on pre- estimatimation of proper de\ulcornervlopment and use of the unattended servicing devices such as Cash Dispenser and Auto Teller Machine bygeneralization, automating. and innovation of design to meet compactness and door to door like convenient service for customers which can be achieved by performing constant comparative analysis and continual study toward development of such devices those of which produced by Five (5) major domestic producers aro~nd the country.

  • To obtain visible and traceable information from the supply chain, HW/SW standards for the EPC global network, which process electronic product code (EPC) data read from Radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, are regarded as the de facto industry standard. Supply chain participants install information service systems and provide logistics information to partners by following the EPCglobal architecture framework. Although quality of service (QoS) is essential for providing dependable and scalable services as pointed out by Auto-ID Lab, only a few models for the performance analysis of QoS-related work have been developed in the context of EPC information service systems. Specifically, doing so allows alternative design choices to be tested in an easy and cost-effective manner and can highlight potential performance problems in designs long before any construction costs are incurred. Thus, in this study we construct a model of an EPC information service system for the purposes of performance analysis and designing a dependable system. We also develop a set of building blocks for analytical performance models. To illustrate how the model works, we determine the characteristics of an EPC information service system and then select a combination of these proven modeling concepts. We construct a performance model that considers the response time and shows how to derive meaningful performance values. Finally, we compare the analytical results to measurements of the EPC information service system.

  • 기존의 유비쿼터스 상거래에 대한 연구는, 대부분이 상품을 판매하는 매장 공간을 배경으로 하는 연구인 반면, 서비스 공간에서의 유비쿼터스 상거래에 대한 연구는 드물게 이루어져왔다. 본 논문은 서비스 공간에서의 유비쿼터스상거래 사례(맥도날드의 터치오더 서비스)를 분석하고, 현실 사례의 한계를 극복하는 방법으로서, 서비스 공간에서 새로운 가치창출을 할 수 있는 유비쿼터스 상거래 비즈니스 모델인 Media Embedded Place 비즈니스 모델을 소개하였다. Media Embedded Place 비즈니스 모델은 비교적 이동성이 없는 테이블이나 게시판과 같은 사물에 태그를 부착하여 서비스를 제공하거나 상거래를 발생시키고 그 대가로 공간을 제공한 사업자가 인센티브를 취하는 비즈니스 모델을 일컫는데, 이 모델을 위한 시나리오와 애플리케이션들을 분석하고, Tag-Evaluation 모델을 이용한 수익성 분석 사례를 설명하였다.
