This study presents a development of internet-based consumer education program for children. We also investigate how this program affects on the children's consumer competency and how much children are interested in this program. This program consists of 6 domains: the concept of consumer. wants and scarcity. advertisement, tips on purchasing. consumer's rights. and consumer's problem imd solutions. In order to attract children. multimedia data such as pictures. drawings. and animations were included in designing the screens. The subjects of this study were 40 children at forth grade to participate in consumer education program. Surveys were conducted twice to collect data for consumer competency and children's interest in the program. According to the results of t-test. We found that consumer education has a positive effect on consumer knowledge and consumer-role attitude but has not a positive effect on consumer skill. We also found that children's interest on this program was very high.

The Purpose of This study is amid competition, High-quality human resources in food service industry make a lot of efforts. Especially, Work and Life Balance(WLB) is a considerable factor when modern workers decide and maintain the workplace and also it could be supposed as one strategic method that corporations could attract and maintain talented people. This study built a exploratory model that there is causal relationship of WLB(work and life balance) to employee's organizational commitment. Additionally this study examine the Moderating Effect of perceived value of work between WLB(work and life balance) and organizational commitment. This study utilized total 217 responses from workers of food service industrial employees and as analysis methods, it used descriptive statistic analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical analysis. Results of analysis are as follows. First this study found that the work-life balance could give significant effects to the organizational commitment. work-growth balance and work-leisure balance has positive significance effect with the organizational commitment but work-family balance was not statistically significant. Second, The significance of this study indicates that perceived value of work plays a role as moderating variable influencing the relationship between work and growth balance and employee organizational commitment. Lastly, this study suggested the implication of the result, the limitation and the direction of future study. The results of this study provide suggestion to the company.

This paper suggests a genuine method to estimate the agglomeration effects of Industrial Cluster focusing on the FOODPOLIS (KOREA NATIONAL FOOD CLUSTER). In this study, we will focus on two issues related to the clustering effect. First, Clusters affect productivity, and a cluster allows companies to operate more productively in inputs; accessing technology, human resource, information, services, and needed institutions. Second, we assume that the effects of Industrial Cluster can be estimated from measurement on differency of an added value between large-scale enterprises and smaller ones. To demonstrate effectiveness of this approach, the estimated effect was compared with that from the related study (A Mini-Cluster). Industry Clusters have been considered as critical factors for regional competitiveness and economic revitalization. For this, the government and local government should find a way and strategy to provide useful contents that can attract the participation of firms and to secure strategic positioning and competition strategies.
This study looks at a causal relationships between service quality and behavior intention(re-visiting, recommendation, loyalty) to attract customers and make them loyal customers in the context of Japanese restaurants. The study includes 250 consumers who have experience in Japanese restaurants located in Busan to conduct survey for empirical testing. To achieve the purpose of current study, frequency test, multiple/simple regression analysis, and factor analysis were conducted with SPSS 18.0 statistical program. Structure Equation Model analysis has been employed for hypothesis testing. Results showed that the service of employee has been recognized as an primary factor among elements of Japanese restaurants' service quality to satisfy customer, and employee's service is the strongest affecting factor to consumers' behavioral intention as well. In addition, the food quality identified as an the strongest factor that affects behavior intention, whereas physical environment is the lowest factor. It can be interpreted that the quality of food is very important element to make their consumers revisit or recommend the restaurant to others. In this study, especially, the service of the employee has been identified as an key factor to customer satisfaction and behavioral intention. Therefore, CEO or restaurateurs of Japanese restaurants have to consider the importance of service quality and food quality to make more patrons as well as their business success.

As competition increases, ski resort managers need to search for ways to attract previous visitors or to gain new visitors through word-of-mouth. This study examined the impact of skiers' perceived value, satisfaction and self-congruity on the revisit intention and the positive word-af-mouth intention. Total respondents were also segmented into a promotion-focus and prevention-focus individuals then later examined the differences in the effect of independent variables between groups in order to suggest a managerial direction that will enhance business competency of ski resorts. Results from regression analysis showed that all independent variables utilized in this study were good predictors of two dependent variables. Specially, satisfaction was a highly significant predictor. Promotion and prevention-focused individuals were also differed in evaluating the importance of independent variables for their revisit and word-of-mouth intention. It means that self-regulatory focus is an effective variable for segmentation. More specifically, satisfaction was the only variable influencing the revisit intention for promotion-focused individuals; whereas both satisfaction and self-congruity had significant effects on the revisit intention for prevention-focused individuals. All independent variables had significant effects on the word-of-mouth intention, except self-congruity for promotion-focused individuals. This research suggests several managerial implications on the findings based on the analysis and the characteristics of the visitors.

The operation of high-speed rail (HSR) has an effect on the agglomeration economies, and the impact is shown as a relocation of individual firm and worker to where business activity can be maximized. The proximity to the HSR station could be considered as a core district to maximize the industrial benefit through the HSR network. From this perspective, this study considers the agglomeration effect of HSR within the HSR station-area and analyzed the agglomerated spatial pattern through hotspot analysis by service industry in the cases of Korea and Japan using GIS. This study analyzed the service industry within 1km distance from 8 HSR stations of Korea and 4 Kyushu Shinkansen stations of Japan. The results suggest that the hotspot patterns are observed in the service industry within 1km distance from the HSR station of Korea and Japan, except for two HSR stations of Gupo station and Kagoshima-Chuo station. Leisure, amusement, association, and other specific service industries could be affected by HSR passengers and knowledge-spillovers through HSR station. Therefore, the observed hotspot districts near the HSR station-area could explain an agglomeration pattern of the service industry through a closeness to the HSR station. Further, we could expect that the impact of HSR affects the service industry, and the impact could attract business activities of the service-area to maximize their benefit from HSR travelers. With the result, it is required to build up a supportive policy to maximize the HSR's impact on the service industry when considering the HSR station-area development.
In order to overcome the disadvantages of banner ad, pop-up ad, interstitial ad, which are existing web advertisement forms, native ad is actively utilized. Native advertising is considered to be a useful advertising technique in that it can reduce users' rejection and attract attention. However, in recent years, there have been a lot of fake news and fake contents that have turned articles or video contents into advertisements. The purpose of this study is to understand how firms can coordinate and control native advertisements in a rational way. For this analysis, we conducted a survey of 308 social media users using quota sampling method. As a result of the verification, it was found that the more negative the perception of the evaluation of the advertisement, the less the level of persuasion about the advertisement and the negative impact on the website where the advertisement is exposed. In addition, this study examined the influence of the negative stimulus factors on the qualitative performance of the firm. As a result, it was found that source non-expert had the highest effect on skepticism on ad. Also, platform overflow has a direct effect on the evaluation of the website as well as the negative evaluation of the advertisement. Moreover, this study provides concrete implications for the subdivision market by verifying the differences between the paths according to the level of website involvement.
There often is information asymmetry between start-ups and the investors, which is because start-up companies in the early stages do not have track records. Meanwhile, since the government grants programs go through a fair and the intense competition process, the government grants can provide a more objective information for start-ups in the early stages and perform a signal function that guarantees a company's capabilities and potential. This study confirms the quantitative relationship between government grants and investment attraction by using the hurdler model. We found that, although there is the proportionate relationship between the scale of government grants and that of external funds, more than a certain amount of government grants is required for technology-based start-ups to exceed the stage of attracting their first external funds. Our findings suggest that it is necessary to consider the hurdles structure in the study of signaling theory perspective, as the mechanisms for determining whether or not to attract external funds are different from determining the level of external funds. In addition, differentiated policy support is needed to help early-stage technology start-ups go beyond the threshold of investment attraction-the creation of a 'threshold effect'.
Online reviews attract much attention because they play an essential role in consumer decision-making. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the review attributes that affect the perceived helpfulness of consumers. However, most previous studies on the helpfulness of online reviews mainly focus on quantitative factors such as review volume and reviewer attributes. Recently, some studies have investigated the impact of review content and linguistic style matching on consumers' purchase decision-making. Those studies show that consumers consider additional review attributes when evaluating reviews in decision-making. To fill the research gap with existing literature, we investigated the impact of review content and linguistic style matching on review helpfulness. Moreover, this study investigated how the reviewers' expertise moderates the effect of the review content and linguistic style matching on the review helpfulness. The empirical results show that positive affective content has a negative effect on the review helpfulness. The negative affective content and linguistic style matching positively affect review helpfulness. Review expertise relieved the impact of negative affective content and linguistic style matching on review helpfulness. According to the mechanism confirmed in this study, online e-commerce companies can achieve corporate sales growth by identifying factors affecting review helpfulness and reflecting them in their marketing strategies.
The impact of competition on pricing has been studied in the context of counterfactual merger analyses where expected optimal prices in a hypothetical monopoly are compared with observed prices in an oligopolistic market. Such analyses would typically assume static decision making by consumers and firms and thus have been applied mostly to data obtained from consumer packed goods such as cereal and soft drinks. However such static modeling approach is not suitable when decision makers are forward looking. When it comes to the markets for durable products with indirect network effects, consumer purchase decisions and firm pricing decisions are inherently dynamic as they take into account future states when making purchase and pricing decisions. Researchers need to take into account the dynamic aspects of decision making both in the consumer side and in the supplier side for such markets. Firms in a two-sided market typically subsidize one side of the market to exploit the indirect network effect. Such pricing behaviors would be more prevalent in competitive markets where firms would try to win over the battle for standard. While such qualitative expectation on the relationship between pricing behaviors and competitive structures could be easily formed, little empirical studies have measured the extent to which the distinct pricing structure in two-sided markets depends on the competitive structure of the market. This paper develops an empirical model to measure the impact of competition on optimal pricing of durable products under indirect network effects. In order to measure the impact of exogenously determined competition among firms on pricing, we compare the equilibrium prices in the observed oligopoly market to those in a hypothetical monopoly market. In computing the equilibrium prices, we account for the forward looking behaviors of consumers and supplier. We first estimate a demand function that accounts for consumers' forward-looking behaviors and indirect network effects. And then, for the supply side, the pricing equation is obtained as an outcome of the Markov Perfect Nash Equilibrium in pricing. In doing so, we utilize numerical dynamic programming techniques. We apply our model to a data set obtained from the U.S. video game console market. The video game console market is considered a prototypical case of two-sided markets in which the platform typically subsidizes one side of market to expand the installed base anticipating larger revenues in the other side of market resulting from the expanded installed base. The data consist of monthly observations of price, hardware unit sales and the number of compatible software titles for Sony PlayStation and Nintendo 64 from September 1996 to August 2002. Sony PlayStation was released to the market a year before Nintendo 64 was launched. We compute the expected equilibrium price path for Nintendo 64 and Playstation for both oligopoly and for monopoly. Our analysis reveals that the price level differs significantly between two competition structures. The merged monopoly is expected to set prices higher by 14.8% for Sony PlayStation and 21.8% for Nintendo 64 on average than the independent firms in an oligopoly would do. And such removal of competition would result in a reduction in consumer value by 43.1%. Higher prices are expected for the hypothetical monopoly because the merged firm does not need to engage in the battle for industry standard. This result is attributed to the distinct property of a two-sided market that competing firms tend to set low prices particularly at the initial period to attract consumers at the introductory stage and to reinforce their own networks and eventually finally to dominate the market.
