Effects of Massage and Attachment Promotion Program on Social Maturity, Child Autism and Attachment of Children with Autism and Their Mothers

  • Purpose: The aims of this study were to evaluate effects of massage therapy and the attachment promotion program with autistic children. Method: A quasi-experimental design was conducted with a convenience sample of 44 autistic children. The experimental group (n= 23) attended the massage therapy and the attachment promotion program for 4 months. The control group (n=21) only had the attachment promotion program. Measurements were made twice for both groups using the social maturity scale and child autism rating scale. Recording of mother-child attachment was done for 15 minutes in only the experimental group twice using video equipment. Results: After 4 months of interventions, there was significant difference on social maturity (F=9.01, p=.005) between the groups. However, there was no significant difference on CARS ((F=2.47, p=.124). The total scores of mother-child attachment between pre- and post-interventions showed a significant difference (Z=-3.42, p=.001). Conclusion: The results showed that massage therapy and the attachment promotion program might be an effective way for providing a chance to increase social maturation and to increase attachment between mother and autistic child.

  • Social deficits are the most critical and core deficits of the children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder(ASD) and they are qualitatively as well as qualitatively different from typically developing children. It is proposed that the attachment between the mother and the autistic child should be promoted foremost and early as possible, to improve social deficits, just like early social developments in normal children depend largely on interactions between the mother and the child who are attached to each other we have developed an interventional program, 'Attachment Promotion Therapy', largely based on the attachment theory. The Attachment promotion Therapy mandates the participation of both the mother and the autistic child, and consists of mutually enjoying play activities, close physical contacts and parental training on intense mother-child interactions, focusing on improving maternal sensitivity, responsiveness, and nurturing behaviors during their interactions. The program was found to be effective in improving attachment behaviors, attachment security and acquiring joint attention skills. Attachment Promotion Therapy is therefore proposed here as the important earliest intervention method for children with ASD and could become the base for many other educational and therapeutic interventions.

Linking Emotional Brand Attachment and Sales Promotion to Post-Purchase Cognitive Dissonance: The Mediating Role of Impulse Buying Behavior

  • The primary objective of this research is to develop a better understanding of consumer's post-purchase psychological state by examining the influence of sales promotion and emotional brand attachment on post-purchase cognitive dissonance, taking into account the mediating role of impulse buying behavior. The current study addresses several gaps in literature. Firstly, it is hard to find the direct impact of sales promotion and emotional brand attachment on post-purchase cognitive dissonance. Secondly, to the best of our knowledge, few studies have investigated the mediating role of impulse buying behavior in consumer research. A sample of 256 respondents was collected from Pakistani retail consumers. The statistical findings of this study show that sales promotion has a significant positive effect on the impulse buying behavior and post-purchase cognitive dissonance. Furthermore, results indicate that emotional brand attachment has a negative influence on impulse buying behavior but has a significant positive impact on post-purchase cognitive dissonance. Meanwhile, impulse buying behavior is a potential mediator between sales promotion, emotional brand attachment, and post-purchase cognitive dissonance relationships. The moderating role of Gender describes that the positive relationship between sales promotion and post-purchase cognitive dissonance will be stronger for women as compared to men at a higher level of sales promotion.

  • The effects of the Attachment Promotion Therapy (APT) program for the autistic children were reviewed by 8 papers. The program was consisted with play activity centered mother-child interaction, educational activity for parents, lecture, video-feedback, and support. APT program was effective to improve the attachment behaviors and attachment security. And the mother's behaviors to her child became more child-centered, positively responsive, expressive supportively. Ninety six point seven percent of the mothers were satisfied with the APT program. They described that it was helpful to understand their children's developmental limitation and strength, to learn how to play with their children, to make supportive social network among the mothers, to minimize familial conflicts, and to make them much more comfortable with their children. They thought the APT Program was to be a steppingstone of the further educational program. APT program is an effective early intervention to promote social development and decrease autistic problems.

태담과 촉각 자극의 모-태아 상호작용 증진 프로그램이 모-태아 애착에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Mother-fetus Interaction Promotion Program of Talking and Tactile Stimulation on Maternal-fetal Attachment)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect on mother-fetus attachment through mother-fetus interaction promotion program of talking and tactual stimulation aimed at enhancing sensitivity of primipara Non-equivalent control group posttest design was used. Fifty primiparas (26 mothers for intervention group and 24 mothers for control group) were recruited from three general hospital and an OBGY clinic located in Gang Nung city. Data was collected from January 30th to December 20th in 2001. For the intervention group, programed education which focused on mother-fetus interaction promotion of talking and tactile stimulation in the 1st trimester. Telephone counselling was provided with interval of two weeks. For two groups, home visiting for data collection of mother-fetus attachment was conducted at 36 to 38 weeks of gestational age. The data were analyzed using chi-square test and Fisher' Exact test to test the equivalence of two groups, and the effect of intervention program was determined with t- test. The result was as follow: The significant difference was found in mother-fetus attachment between two groups(t= 2.772, P= 0.0079). It indicated that intervention program was effective in improving mother-fetus attachment. In conclusion, this study has shown that the applied nursing intervention aimed at enhancing sensitivity of primiparas to fetus's movement promoted mother-fetus attachment. Therefore, this study suggests that this nursing intervention to increase maternal sensitivity to the fetus's movement should be broadly applied to primiparas, which can be beneficial for formation of mother-infant relationship, and for promotion of the social, affective, and cognitive developments of their children.

취업모를 위한 모유수유증진 프로그램의 효과 (Effects of a Breast Feeding Promotion Program for Working Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of a breast feeding promotion program for working women on breast feeding continuation, mother-infant attachment, and maternal sensitivity. Methods: The design of this study is nonequivalent control group design with repeated measures. Results: There were significant differences in breast feeding continuation between two groups at each time point except 2 days and 1 week after delivery. The scores of mother-infant attachment and maternal sensitivity of experimental group were higher than those of the control group, but there were no significant differences between two groups. Conclusion: Although some modifications in contents and administration will be required to increase the effectiveness of the program, breast feeding promotion program for working women can be an effective nursing intervention which can facilitate breast feeding continuation and mother-infant relationships.

  • 최근 소셜 플랫폼 마케팅 환경은 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 이러한 환경에서 기업은 브랜드와 서비스를 홍보하기 위해 소셜 플랫폼 인플루언서에 대한 의존도가 높아지고 있다. 이처럼 소셜 인플루언서에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있음에도 불구하고 소셜 플랫폼 인플루언서 특성이 소비자 애착과 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향을 탐구하는 실증적 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 소셜 플랫폼 인플루언서 특성, 소비자 애착 및 브랜드 충성도 간의 관계를 살펴보았다. 중국 소비자를 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 진행하였으며, 총 360부의 데이터를 분석에 사용하였다. 분석에는 SPSS와 AMOS 프로그램을 사용하였다. 연구 결과 소셜 플랫폼 인플루언서 특성 중 애착에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인은 신뢰성, 전문성과 친밀성으로 나타났으며, 소셜 플랫폼 인플루언서에 대한 애착도가 높을수록 브랜드 충성도가 높아짐을 확인하였다.

  • 자폐아동을 위해 개발된 모-아애착증진 프로그램의 효과를 평가하고자 참여군과 비참여군의 변화를 비교하였다. 대상자는 S대학교병원 애착증진 프로그램에 참여하는 자폐아동과 어머니 7쌍, 참여하지 않는 자폐아동과 어머니 4쌍이었다. 6개월 간격으로 2회, 비디오 촬영법 등을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며 Wilcoxon Rank(Sign) Sum Test로 모-아애착, 양육행위, 자폐적인 행동 특성의 변화를 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 참여군의 애착행동의 변화는 같은 기간 비참여군의 애착행동의 변화보다 유의하게 컸으며 일치성을 제외한 근접성, 상호성, 정감성에서 양적으로나 질적으로 긍정적 변화를 보였다(p<.05). 접촉유지, 차별적, 애정적 행동이 크게 증가하였으나 공감적, 일치적, 합동주시 행동의 변화는 적었고 아동간에 개별차가 컸다. 아동의 성장발달을 위한 어머니의 양육행위도 참여군에서 크게 증가하였으나 그룹간 차이는 유의하지 않았다(p<.05). 애착행동의 증진은 또한 자폐적 행동 특성에 긍정적 영향을 미쳐 모-아애착 증진 프로그램이 자폐아동들의 사회적 행동의 증진 뿐만 아니라 문제 행동의 개선에도 유용한 조기중재 프로그램으로서의 가능성을 보였다.

발달증진프로그램이 발달지연 아동 어머니의 양육 스트레스에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Mother-Child Development Promotion Program for the Child with Developmental Delay on Mother's Depressive Mood and Parenting Stress)

  • Objectives : We investigated the parenting stress and depressive mood of mothers with developmentally-delayed children and the effects of participation in a mother-child development promotion program on same. Methods : Subjects were the mothers of 20 developmentally-delayed children. The severity of the mothers' parenting stress was evaluated via the Korean version of the Parenting Stress Index, Short Form (K-PSI-SF) and the severity of their depressive symptoms were evalueted by the Korean version of the Beck Depression Inventory (K-BDI). Results : The mean K-PSI-SF score and mean K-BDI score for these mothers were 93.35 (SD=10.47) and 23.25 (SD=10.42), respectively. These scores correspond to high parenting stress and moderate depression. The mothers who participated in a mother-child attachment- promotion program showed significant decreases in their K-PSI-SF and KBDI scores. Conclusion : Our data suggest that a mother-child attachment promotion program with emphasis on child development is effective in reducing parenting stress and depressive mood in mothers of developmentally-delayed children.

간호사의 성인애착유형에 따른 조직몰입, 직무만족 및 직무스트레스 (Nurses' Organizational Commitment, Job Satisfaction and Job Stress according to their Adult Attachment Styles)

  • Purpose: This study was done to compare organizational commitment, job satisfaction and job stress according to nurses' adult attachment styles. Methods: Data were collected by self-report questionnaires measuring Adult attachment style, Organizational commitment, Job satisfaction and Job stress from a convenience sample of 253 shift nurses in a hospital. Results: There were security style (31.2%), dismissing-avoidance (18.6%), preoccupation (17.8%) and fearful-avoidance (32.4%) among 4 attachment styles in these shift nurses. Their organizational commitment level (M=3.2), job satisfaction (M=2.7) and job stress (M=3.3) were revealed. Subjects who were in security attachment style showed significantly higher scores of organizational commitment (F=5.09, p=.002) and job satisfaction (F=13.02, p<.001) than subjects in fearful-avoidance attachment style. Meanwhile, this study showed that subjects who were in fearful-avoidance attachment style recorded significantly higher scores of job stress than subjects in any other attachment style (F=3.15, p=.026). Conclusion: This study demonstrated a relevant difference in organizational commitment, job satisfaction and job stress in accordance with the attachment style of shift nurses. These results indicate the need for attachment promotion program for shift nurses. And nurses' attachment styles should be considered in future interventions to enhance quality of nursing care.
