  • In this note, we prove that an Artinian local ring is G-semisimple (resp., SG-semisimple, 2-SG-semisimple) if and only if its maximal ideal is G-projective (resp., SG-projective, 2-SG-projective). As a corollary, we obtain the global statement of the above. We also give some examples of local G-semisimple rings whose maximal ideals are n-generated for some positive integer n.

  • A ring R is called right pure-injective if it is injective with respect to pure exact sequences. According to a well known result of L. Melkersson, every commutative Artinian ring is pure-injective, but the converse is not true, even if R is a commutative Noetherian local ring. In this paper, a series of conditions under which right pure-injective rings are either right Artinian rings or quasi-Frobenius rings are given. Also, some of our results extend previously known results for quasi-Frobenius rings.

  • In this paper we study exponential growth of Betti numbers over artinian local rings. By the Change of Tor Formula the results in the paper extend to the asymptotic behavior of Betti numbers over Cohen-Macaulay local rings. Using the length function of an artinian ring we calculate an upper bound for the number of generators of modules, this is then used to maximize the number of generators of sygyzy modules. Finally, applying a filtration of an ideal, which we call a Loewy series of an ideal, we derive an invariant B(R) of an artinian local ring R, such that if B(R)>1, then the sequence $b^{R}$$_{i}$ (M) of Betti numbers is strictly increasing and has strong exponential growth for any finitely generated non-free R-module M (Theorem 2.7).).

  • The aim of the Paper is to Obtain information about the flat covers and minimal flat resolutions of Artinian modules over a Noetherian ring. Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring and let A be an Artinian R-module. We prove that the flat cover of a is of the form $\prod_{p\epsilonAtt_R(A)}T-p$, where $Tp$ is the completion of a free R$_{p}$-module. Also, we construct a minimal flat resolution for R/xR-module 0: $_AX$ from a given minimal flat resolution of A, when n is a non-unit and non-zero divisor of R such that A = $\chiA$. This result leads to a description of the structure of a minimal flat resolution for ${H^n}_{\underline{m}}(R)$, nth local cohomology module of R with respect to the ideal $\underline{m}$, over a local Cohen-Macaulay ring (R, $\underline{m}$) of dimension n.

  • Yu showed that every right (left) primitive factor ring of weakly right (left) duo rings is a division ring. It is not difficult to show that each weakly right (left) duo ring is abelian and has the classical right (left) quotient ring. In this note we first provide a left duo ring (but not weakly right duo) in spite of it being left Noetherian and local. Thus we observe conditions under which weakly one-sided duo rings may be two-sided. We prove that a weakly one-sided duo ring R is weakly duo under each of the following conditions: (1) R is semilocal with nil Jacobson radical; (2) R is locally finite. Based on the preceding case (1) we study a kind of composition length of a right or left Artinian weakly duo ring R, obtaining that i(R) is finite and $\alpha^{i(R)}R\;=\;R\alpha^{i(R)\;=\;R\alpha^{i(R)}R\;for\;all\;\alpha\;{\in}\;R$, where i(R) is the index (of nilpotency) of R. Note that one-sided Artinian rings and locally finite rings are strongly $\pi-regular$. Thus we also observe connections between strongly $\pi-regular$ weakly right duo rings and related rings, constructing available examples.

  • Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring, I and J two ideals of R, and M a finitely generated R-module. We prove that $$Ext^i{_R}(R/I,H^t{_{I,J}}(M))$$ is finitely generated for i = 0, 1 where t=inf{$i{\in}\mathbb{N}_0:H^2{_{I,J}}(M)$ is not finitely generated}. Also, we prove that $H^i{_{I+J}}(H^t{_{I,J}}(M))$ is Artinian when dim(R/I + J) = 0 and i = 0, 1.

  • IF R is a left Artinian ring with identity, G is the group of units of R and X is the set of nonzero, nonunits of R, then G acts naturally on X by conjugation. It is shown that if the conjugate action on X by G is trivial, that is, gx = xg for all $g \in G$ and all $x \in X$, then R is a commutative ring. It is also shown that if the conjegate action on X by G is transitive, then R is a local ring and $J^2 = (0)$ where J is the Jacobson radical of R. In addition, if G is a simple group, then R is isomorphic to $Z_2 [x]/(x^2 + 1) or Z_4$.

  • Let a and b be two ideals of a commutative Noetherian ring R, M a finitely generated R-module and i an integer. In this paper we study formal local cohomology modules with respect to a pair of ideals. We denote the i-th a-formal local cohomology module M with respect to b by ${\mathfrak{F}}^i_{a,b}(M)$. We show that if ${\mathfrak{F}}^i_{a,b}(M)$ is artinian, then $a{\subseteq}{\sqrt{(0:{\mathfrak{F}}^i_{a,b}(M))$. Also, we show that ${\mathfrak{F}}^{\text{dim }M}_{a,b}(M)$ is artinian and we determine the set $Att_R\;{\mathfrak{F}}^{\text{dim }M}_{a,b}(M)$.

  • Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring, I an ideal of R, M and N two R-modules. We characterize the least integer i such that $H^i_I(M,N)$ is not weakly Artinian by using the notion of weakly filter regular sequences. Also, a local-global principle for minimax generalized local cohomology modules is shown and the result generalizes the corresponding result for local cohomology modules.
