  • The goal of this study is to examine whether the genre characteristics of newspaper articles are appropriately reflected in Korean language textbooks. For the purpose of this study, two corpora were built with 17 textbook articles and 60 newspaper articles respectively. The average sentence length and frequency of vocabulary in each corpus were measured. It was found that the sentences of articles in textbooks tended to have longer sentence length and more complicated structures than the articles in newspapers. For instance, sentences in the textbook articles had more verbal endings, such as conjunctive and transforming endings. On the other hand, in case of vocabulary representing 'timeliness', there was a high frequency of adverbs and nouns which were related to year, month, and time in actual articles, while it is found to be very limited in textbooks. Also, typical translative styles such as '-ko itta', '-e ttareumyun' were more prominent in textbooks than in newspaper articles. In the case of abbreviated and omitted form of particles, this was a characteristic that appeared only in actual articles because of the constraint of space. It is significant that this paper offers suggestions for the development of reading materials for Korean language education by revealing that the genre typology of actual newspaper articles is not adequately reflected in current textbooks.

However from the 1990's, the amount, the world market share and the international competitiveness of clothing exports have declined. Based on these phenomena, the purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of export articles in Korean Clothing Trade focused on the 1990's. Statistical data of clothing articles(SITC 84 : Articles of apparel & clothing accessories) were used. The relative importance, trade orientation tendency and unit price of each export clothing articles were analyzed. The results of the study were as follows. On the relative importance, trade orientation tendency and unit price of each export clothing articles, outer garments or products that required complicated production process(e.g., coats, suits, ensembles, jackets, dress) had been decreased in the portion and weakened in the export orientation tendency. But one item in a set or casual wear like trousers, skirts, blouses, shirts, Jerseys, pullovers, T-shirts has been increased in the portion and risen in the unit price. These trends means that clothing exports of Korea were more focused on those category and the international competitiveness on those articles were advanced. From these results, this study can be contributed to establish the concrete clothing export articles strategies of Korean firms.

Results: Twenty-one articles(32%) did not report correct p-values, 33 articles(50%) used mean${\pm}$standard error(mean${\pm}$SE) and 11 articles(l7%) used mean${\pm}$standard deviation(mean${\pm}$SD). Fifty-two articles(95%) of 55 ones which were tested for normal distribution made an error in describing normal distribution. Seventeen articles misused t-test and 12 articles did not carry out the multiple comparison. Conclusions: The training of researchers with clinical statistics or the participation of statisticians in research design will reduce the significant errors in statistical interpretation of the results.

Results & Conclusions : The largest number of related articles was published in 2017(12 articles, 26.7%). 'Journal of Society of Preventive Korean Medicine' was the journal with the most published articles(16 articles, 35.6%). • In this study, we collected articles published in the Publication of the Korean Astronomical Society (PKAS) from 1984 to 2021, and performed quantitative analyses of their various aspects. PKAS is the journal where authors can publish research papers in Korean as well as English. It seems to have an advantage of the better accessibility to all people than other astronomy journals in English only. From 1984 to 2000, the number of articles published in PKAS has been steadily increased. From 2000, the number of published articles showed a tendency to decrease slightly every year. After 2010, the number of articles in PKAS has shown a sharp decline until now. Interestingly, in this period it is found that the topics published articles became various, in particular, many articles concerning historical astronomy began to be published. PKAS was selected as an accredited journal in 2018. This is a very positive situation, and we think the future direction of PKAS is encouraging. Considering these circumstances, the PKAS is suggested to reflect ideas of "interdisciplinary fusion" and "diversity" in publishing articles in the journal for its promising future.
