  • Purpose - While sustainability is based on the argument that the world's resources are finite and their demand will ultimately surpass supply, entrepreneurship on the other hand argues that there are inherent opportunities to address this through conserving, recycling, switching to more renewable resources and making effective use of available finite resources. Research design, data, and methodology - In response to the lack of scientific information on the outcomes of entrepreneurship in rural Nigeria, this paper surveys the benefits (social, economic and environmental) of women engagement in waste plastic bags recycling in Adamawa State of Nigeria. A descriptive research design was adopted and data was collected from 26 respondents with the use of a semi-structured questionnaire, which was analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in frequency tables. Results - Results indicated that 21 women have gained employment, who would have remained unemployed; 80.8% of who make profits below 10000 Naira per month and collectively, they recycle 179.3kg of waste polythene bag per month. Conclusions - It was recommended that the women should be further their education; adequate records of costs and sales should be kept; and savings should be encouraged among them.

  • The industrial ecosystem around the Internet services has been evolving since the Internet was first introduced. The Net Neutrality issue best represents the process of the evolution and presents an inevitable challenge that the industry should overcome. This paper deals with this structural change with the Two-Sided Market framework and provides a System Dynamics(SD) model to evaluate the economic implications of the net neutrality policy. In particular, our approach analyzes the policy impacts when two competing platforms (network providers) play a role of the platform in a typical two-sided market, which connects Content Providers(CPs) with users. Previous studies show that the indirect network externality between these two markets makes the entire system tip to one platform. When the multi-homing in the CP market is allowed as in our model, however, their argument may lose its validity. To examine the system behavior, conducted here is SD simulations of our model. The simulation results show that co-existence of the competing platforms persists with the network effects over a certain threshold. The net neutrality policy seems to lower the threshold based on our experimental outcomes.

  • The argument concerning the choice of effect measure for epidemiologic data or clinic data has been renewed. But the relationships among effect measures can be confusing if effect measures are expressed by conventional mathematical functions alone. In this article, risk difference(RD), relative risk(RR), and odds ratios(OR) for binary data are presented by radar diagram instead of mathematical functions and the relationships among them are showed using radar diagram. This radar diagram is offered flexible conceptual tool to understand effect measures, DR, RR, and OR for binary data.

  • The change into the knowledge based information society requires a transformation of educational paradigm. Accordingly, intelligent learning and distance education are attracting a fair amount of attention. To apply the instructional learning method in this field, we need to consider a individualization of learning, as it were, abstraction of fact and path through learning, which is based on learner's traits, this focus entails a argument for individualized reasoning strategy. Therefore, in this paper, we design a learner's cognitive union, which is based on X-Neuronet(eXtended Neuronet), represent learner's hierarchical knowledge is able to self-learn, and grows adaptive union by proprietor. Additionally, we propose a individualized reasoning strategy, which relies upon learner's cognitive union, and verify the validity.

  • When codebooks designed by a clustering algorithm using training sets, a time-averaged distortion, which is called the inside-training-set- distortion (ITSD), is usually calculated in each iteration of the algorithm, since the input probability function is unknown in general. The algorithm stops if the ITSD no more significantly decreases. Then, in order to test the trained codebook, the outside-training-set-distortion (OTSD) is to be calculated by a time-averaged approximation using the test set. Hence codebooks that yield small values of the OTSD are regarded as good codebooks. In other words, the calculation of the OTSD is a criterion to testing a trained codebook. But, such an argument is not always true if some conditions are not satisfied. Moreover, in order to obtain an approximation of the OTSD using the test set, it is known that a large test set is requared in general. But, large test set causes heavy calculation com0plexity. In this paper, from the analyses in [16], it has been revealed that the enough size of the test set is only the same as that of the codebook when codebook size is large. Then a simple method to testing trained codebooks is addressed. Experimental results on synthetic data and real images supporting the analysis are also provided and discussed.

  • As high speed internet users are tremendously increasing, three are keenly in need of development of high speed portable internet technology which can provide high quality wireless internet service cheaply even in the mobile. Unlike the FDD-CDMA, TDD-OFDMA has relatively poor wave environment with inducing interference, fading and delay because it agrees to multi-carrier modulation method and time-division radio telecommunication system. To solve this problem, it is necessary to develop repeater operating by digital signal processing method which have more strict wireless channel control and wave signal processing technology over TDD telecommunication equipments. This thesis is dealing with design and implementation of Digital RF Repeater which implemented 'Synchronization Acquisition Unit', 'TDD signal switching Unit', 'Feedback Signal Cancellation Unit'. Over this argument, we will develop digital RF repeater with more cheap, more adaptive in wave environment like oscillation control, adaptive wave monitoring and output increasing and having control function as a result it will be helpful for success in high speed portable internet service business.

  • Locking sheet is to display the contents of interlocking equipment for safe train drive in stations. It is being used as a basic information for interlocking equipment and for route control condition and the discussion for train operation between related parties. In spite of importance of this, there was no other way except depending on the work by hands from each stage(drawing, examination, discussion, approval) due to non-existing any tool. It is written it takes 30days from drawing to approval by procedures. However, it is required over the days in real time due to argument of each party. Furthermore on drawing of locking sheet, special conditions applied in accordance with situations of each station occasionally are different depending on the person in charge. Therefore, it is urgent to make up Logic Tree to accept special conditions of all stations. Automation Program for Drawing and Examination of Locking Sheet is to improve inefficient interlocking operation which was operated by hands in accordance with custom as automated system. The target of this program is to minimize the processing time and potential errors by personal work and set up standards for Logic Tree of special condition.

  • Loan monitoring is a fundamental element of credit control. The importance of loan monitoring is to reduce loan defaults and to increase loan repayment performance. The ex-post monitoring can also increase the loan quality and thus a concern to many creditors in the market economy. This study identifies the role of ex-post monitoring on loan repayment performance in the context of rural Vietnam. Employing primary data from rural areas of Vietnam, this study investigates the impacts of ex-post monitoring on loan repayment performance of individual borrowers in terms of on-time loan repayment and the rate of loan repayment. Descriptions of borrower demographics, loan information, and ex-post monitoring show the initial picture of borrowers and loans in Vietnam's rural areas. Quantitative estimations that use the Probit and the Tobit model confirm the argument that better ex-post monitoring would result in better loan repayment performance in both on-time repayment and repayment rate. Thus, some policy suggestions have been made to improve the monitoring system in each financial institution. The study also indicates that some other factors too affect loan repayment performance such as borrower's characteristics (education, agricultural working area, and income) as well as loan's characteristics (loan size, maturity, and loan purpose).

  • The Grand Stupa is mentioned in historical text as 'Rajakudakan', which means a royal building with a multitiered superstructure. This Grand Stupa is the principal construction of Wat Chedi Luang, and marks the center of the Chiang Mai City Plan. This study argues that the Grand Stupa was built in 1391 during Phaya Saen Mueang Ma's reign, possibly inspired by the construction of Ku Phaya in Bagan. Thereafter, in 1545, the Grand Stupa's superstructure collapsed after the great earthquake, resulted in the irreparable damage since then. Therefore, a survey using a 3D laser scanner is conducted to collect the most precise data on the current condition of the Grand Stupa, yielding an assumption of its reconstruction. Other simultaneous stupas or those that show a close architectural relationship (e.g. stupas in Wat Chiang Man and Wat Lok Moli and the stupa of King Tilokaraj in Wat Chet Yot in Chiang Mai) are also employed as research frameworks for the reconstruction. As a result, the architectural research on the Grands Stupa, compared with simultaneous stupas, yields a fruitful argument that the pre-collapse superstructure form of the Grand Stupa marks the most architectural similarity to the stupa of Wat Chiang Man.

  • While lots of new mobile applications are being developed, applications that provide positional information by using LBS (Location Based Service) have become popular. For instance, smart phones are able to find my location and a destination easily by using GPS, which installed in the instrument, and run the program. However, these existing positional information applications can find the location of only one user at a time. These programs are not able to find out accurate directions from current location to the destination. This paper suggests a case of system development which solved some of the problems in the implementation of existing applications using LBS. The suggested system to solve these issues, having multiple users to share positional information and showing directions, run by AR (Argument Reality). In daily use, this application would be very efficient for location people in the vicinity.
