수중운동이 듀센 근이영양증 아동의 기능적 활동에 미치는 영향: 사례보고 (Effect of Aquatic Exercise on Functional Activity in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: Case Report)

  • PURPOSE: This study examined the effects of aquatic exercise on the functional activities of patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. METHODS: This study was a single-group experimental ABA design in three children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The study period was 20 weeks, consisting of 4 weeks of baseline, 12 weeks of intervention, and 4 weeks of maintenance, with 40 minutes of aquatic exercise once a week in the intervention. The Duchenne muscular dystrophy upper extremity patient-reported outcome scale and the expanded version of the Hammersmith Functional Motor Scale version of the Hammersmith Functional Movement Scale were used to determine the effects of aquatic exercise on the patient's functional activity. The measurements were taken five times: once at baseline, three times at intervention, and once at maintenance. The data collected in this study were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0, with a statistical significance level of α of .05, and the Friedman test, a non-parametric method was conducted. RESULTS: The functional activity scores improved significantly after 12 weeks of the intervention compared to the baseline and were maintained for up to 4 weeks after the intervention was complete. CONCLUSION: Aquatic exercise is an effective intervention for improving the functional activity of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and should be utilized in clinical practice.

수중회전조절운동이 20대 여성의 균형유지에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Aquatic Rotation Exercise on Balance Maintenance)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to examine the effects of a Halliwick rotation program on improving balance. Methods: Nine healthy females were randomly assigned to a Halliwick rotation program training as an aquatic group (n=9, age=$22.5{\pm}1.3$ years) or to a control group. The aquatic group trained using a Halliwick rotation program (3 times/week, 30 min/day) for 6 weeks. Balance was measured according to stance position: Hard Plate Open Eyes (HOE), Hard Plate Close Eyes (HCE), Soft Plate Open Eyes (SOE) and Soft Plate Close Eyes (SCE). This was done before the training and 3 and 6 weeks after the training. The data were analyzed with the SPSS Win 12.0 program using repeated measure ANOVA. Results: There were significant training-induced differences in SOE and POE (p<0.05), and in SCE and PCE (p<0.05) by Toe pad. There were significant training-induced differences in SOE and POE (p<0.05) by Heel pad after the aquatic rotation exercise program. Conclusion: The Halliwick rotation program can improve balance.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 12주간 수중걷기운동이 비만 노인 여성의 신체조성, hs-CRP, HOMA-IR 및 혈압에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 실시하였다. 체지방률 30% 이상인 비만 노인 여성 중 운동군(10명), 대조군(10명)으로 총 20명으로 실시하였으며, 모든 검사항목은 동일한 방법과 조건으로 신체조성, hs-CRP, HOMA-IR 및 혈압을 사전, 사후 총 2회 측정하였다. 수중걷기운동은 12주간, 주 3회, 1회 50분, RPE 11-14 강도로 실시하였다. 측정변인에 대해 평균값과 표준편차(M±SD)를 산출한 후 사전 운동군과 대조군의 신체적 특성과 각 측정변인에 대한 동질성 검정을 위하여 독립 t-test를, 집단 내의 사전·사후 평균치 변화에 대한 차이 검증은 종속 t-test를, 집단 간 차이에 대한 주효과 검정 및 집단 간 시기 간 상호작용 효과는 반복측정 분산분석을 이용하였다. 본 연구결과 운동군에서 신체조성, 체지방률(p<.05), 인슐린(p<.01), HOMA-IR(p<.01) 및 수축기 혈압(p<.05)이 유의하게 감소하였다. 따라서 수중걷기운동이 비만 노인 여성의 비만 및 심혈관질환의 개선에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

융복합적 수중운동이 유방암 환자의 어깨 기능, 폐기능과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Convergent Aquatic Exercise on Shoulder and Pulmonary Function and Quality of Life in Breast Cancer Patients)

  • 본 연구는 유방암 환자에게 수중 운동과 지상운동을 적용하여 비교 분석하고 암환자의 재활에 수중 운동의 효과를 규명하고자 시행하였다. 연구대상자는 유방암 환자 40명을 모집하여 수중 운동을 적용한 실험군 20명, 지상 운동을 적용한 대조군 20명으로 설정하였고, 수중운동과 지상운동을 각각 주 5회 8주간 중재한 후 어깨기능과 폐기능 삶의 질을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 그룹 간 어깨 기능장애는 실험군에서 대조군에 비해 더 큰 변화를 보여 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였고(p<.001), 노력성 폐활량과 1초간 노력성 호기량도 실험군에서 대조군에 비해 더 큰 변화를 보여 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.05)(p<.001). 삶의 질의 변화 비교에서도 실험군이 대조군에 비해 더 큰 변화를 보여 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.001). 본 연구 결과가 유방암 환자의 신체적 건강과 심리적, 사회적 건강을 회복시키고 관리함에 있어 효율적인 방법을 제시할 것으로 생각되며, 향후 연구를 발전시켜 폐암, 대장암 등의 환자들을 대상으로 한 연구와 다양한 수중운동 방법들의 적용으로 연구를 발전시켜 국내 유방 암 재활 치료의 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of aquatic exercise program combined with self-help group on pain, weight, body mass index, self-efficacy, quality of life in osteoarthritis patients. This program was carried out three times a week for 6 weeks by 4 small groups of patients among 21 patients in regular swimming pool. Data were analyzed by paired t-tests for pre and post comparison. Study results indicate that all patients participated aquatic exercise program improved Pain, body weight, body mass index, self-efficacy, and quality of life. These results Indicated that the aquatic exercise program combined the self-help group can be recommended to the osteoarthritis patients as well as the rheumatic arthritis patients.

12주간 수중운동이 낙상 경험 여성 노인들의 보행에 미치는 영향 (Effects of 12-week Aquatic Exercise on Gait in the Falls Experienced Elderly Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of after aquatic exercise on gait in the Falls Experienced elderly. There were one group : Fall Experienced Elderly Women(n=8). They were tested on their gait (Elapse time of each phase, Stance time of limb, Stride length, Velocity of segment). we took video and analyzed their movement using Ariel Performance Analysis System and compared gait parameters. For data analysis, mean and standard deviation scores were calculated, and correspondence sample t-test and pearson's correlation analysis were used. First, after exercise is short than before exercise on Elapse time of each phase, fall-experience subjects showed meaningful total time. Second, after exercise is short than before exercise on Stance time of limb and Stride length, fall-experience subjects showed meaningful Stride length. Third, after exercise is fast than before exercise on Velocity of segment.

수중운동 프로그램이 성인여성의 대사증후군 위험요소와 스트레스에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Aquatic Exercise Program on Risk Factors of Metabolic Syndrome and Stress in Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of an 8-week aquatic exercise program on risk factors of metabolic syndrome and stress in women. Methods: This study employed a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 35 patients were recruited through a community health center. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 version program, and the outcome variables were risk factors of metabolic syndrome including abdominal circumference, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, and the level of stress. Results: There was no statistically significant differences in abdominal circumference, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, and blood pressure difference (post-pre) between the experimental and control group. However, there was a significant difference in the stress level. Conclusion: This study result support the beneficial effect of stress management in women on risk reduction for metabolic syndrome. Health professionals consider to develop strategy of the aquatic exercise program to reduce factors of metabolic syndrome.

수중운동 프로그램이 지역사회 당뇨병 환자의 자기효능감과 자가간호행위에 미치는 효과 (Effects of the aquatic exercise program on diabetes self efficacy and self care behaviors in diabetic patients in community)

  • 본 연구는 당뇨병 자가관리교육이 포함된 수중운동 프로그램이 지역사회 당뇨병 환자의 자가간호행위와 자기효능감에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위한 비동등성 대조군 유사실험연구이다. 연구대상자는 D광역시 W 보건진료소에 등록된 당뇨병 환자 중 수중운동 프로그램에 참여한 실험군 26명과 참여하지 않은 대조군 25명이다. 프로그램은 주 2회, 80분으로, 당뇨병 자가관리교육 30분과 50분의 수중운동 프로그램으로 구성되었다. 본 프로그램 후 공복혈당(p=.047), 당화혈색소(p<.001)는 유의하게 감소되었고, 당뇨병 자기효능감(p<.001), 당뇨병 자가간호행위(p<.001)는 유의하게 증가하였다. 본 연구결과로 자가관리 교육을 포함한 수중운동 프로그램이 자기효능감과 자가간호행위를 향상시켜 당뇨병 관리에 중요한 지표인 공복혈당과 당화혈색소를 완화하는데 효율적임을 알 수 있었다. 지역사회에서 당뇨병 유병율을 낮추고 합병증을 예방하기 위해 자가관리 교육이 포함된 수중운동 프로그램 상시운영이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of an aquatic exercise program on physical fitness, body composition, and gait characteristics using trunk and pelvic angle in women living in urban fringe area. Methods: An aquatic exercise program consists of exercise in a swimming pool and self-help group activity with 16 women living in urban fringe (mean age: 63 years) for 8 weeks (twice a week for 2 hours). Physical fitness, body composition, trunk and pelvic angle using 2D video motion analyzer, and a questionnaire including socio-demographic variables were measured from July to August, 2013. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test with the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Results: At the end of 8 weeks intervention, there were significant decreases on body weight (p=.025), body fat (p=.030) and BMI (p=.011). There were significant increases on muscle strength (p=.001) and flexibility (p=.015). Trunk angle was significantly improved, which means participants less moved their body from side to side when they walked (p=.001). Conclusion: From this results, the aquatic exercise program could be an effective nursing intervention to improve physical fitness, body composition, and gait ability for women living in urban fringe area.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify the effects of a 9-week self-help management aquatic exercise program on pain, flexibility, balance, fatigue and self-efficacy in the patients with osteoarthritis living in the suburban area. Methods: Utilizing a quasi-experimental design, 43 osteoarthritis patients consisted of the experimental group (n=20) and the control group (n=23). Due to the busy schedule of the patients working in the farm, the program was provided for 9 weeks instead of 12 week program under the guidance of professional advice. The questionnaires and physical measurements were used to measure the outcome variables before and after the program. Data were analyzed with the SPSS WIN using descriptive statistics, t-test and ANCOVA. Results: The age was significantly different between the groups. After controlling for the age, pain and fatigue in the experimental group decreased significantly more than the control group. Flexibility, balance and self-efficacy in the experimental group improved significantly more than the control group. Conclusion: This 9-week program could be an effective nursing intervention to be used especially for osteoarthritis patients in the suburban area during the leisure seasons of the farmers to improve their arthritic symptoms and self-efficacy.
