This paper presents the modeling and impact analysis for a rotating cantilever beam having a concentrated mass. The concentrated mass takes an impact force during the rotating motion and the transient response of the beam induced by the impact is calculated by applying the Rayleigh-Ritz assumed mode method. The stiffness variation effect caused by the rotating motion is considered in this modeling. The effects of the concentrated mass size, impact position and the angular velocity of the beam on the transient responses are investigated through numerical studies.
The study of rigid roadway pavement under dynamic traffic loads with variable velocity is investigated in this paper. Rigid roadway pavement is modeled as a rectangular damped orthotropic plate supported by elastic Pasternak foundation. The boundary supports of the plate are the steel dowels and tie bars which provide elastic vertical support and rotational restraint. The natural frequencies of the system and the mode shapes are solved using two transcendental equations, obtained from the solution of two auxiliary Levy's type problems, known as the Modified Bolotin Method. The dynamic moving traffic load is expressed as a concentrated load of harmonically varying magnitude, moving straight along the plate with a variable velocity. The dynamic response of the plate is obtained on the basis of orthogonality properties of eigenfunctions. Numerical example results show that the velocity and the angular frequency of the loads affected the maximum dynamic deflection of the rigid roadway pavement. It is also shown that a critical speed of the load exists. If the moving traffic load travels at critical speed, the rectangular plate becomes infinite in amplitude.
We studied the effects of Pt and Cr addition in a new Co-Cr-P-Pt alloy system with the coercivity higher than 2000 Oe even when they were deposited without substrate heating and bias voltage. The coercivity of the films increased from 1000 to 2000 Oe or higher by addition of 12 at.%Pt. The variation of the anisotropy field with increasing Pt content was similar to that of the coercivity. This indicate that the increase of the coercivity might be associated with increase of the anisotropy field with Pt addition. With the addition of Cr, the coercivity of the films increased up to 8 at.%Cr and the coercive squareness of the films decreased. The angular variation of coercivity deviated at a lower angle from domain wall motion mode as the Cr content increases. From these result, it is believed that the grain isolation of the films is enhanced with the addition of Cr.
The effects of psoralen and angelicin on hepatic microsomal drug-metabolizing enzyme (DME) activities were investigated to elucidate the mode of the interaction of furanocoumarins with DME system. A single administration (30 mg/kg,i. p.) of both coumarins to mice cased a significant prolonagation of hexobarbital-induced hypnosis as well as an increase in strychnine toxicity. The inhibitory potencies of both coumarins as measured by rat hepatic microsomal aminopyrine N-demethylase and hexobarbital hydroxylase activities in vitro were considerably weaker than those of other furanocoumarins which possess a side chain moiety. Both coumarins were found to have significant inducing effects of DME system, with repeated treatments of them. The activities of an angular coumarin were stronger than those of a linear coumarin.

VVC(Versertile Video Codec)의 화면 내 예측은 인코더에서 영상을 적절하게 사각형 블록으로 분할하고, 블록 주변의 먼저 재구성된 참조샘플들을 이용하여 예측블록을 형성한다. 인코더는 화면 내 예측 모드에서 각 PU(Prediction Unit)에 대하여 MIP(Matrix-based weighted Intra Prediction) 적용 여부, MIP에서 matrix의 인덱스, MRL(Multi Reference Line)의 인덱스, DC/Planar/Angular 모드에 대한 최적모드를 고려하여 각 정보를 디코더로 전송하며 각 후보모드들의 압축효율을 비교하는 과정에서 높은 연산량을 요구한다.
Texture imaging, which means texture image creation by co-occurrence relation, has been known as one of useful image analysis methodologies. For this purpose, most commercial remote sensing software provides texture analysis function named GLCM (Grey Level Co-occurrence Matrix). In this study, texture-imaging program for GLCM algorithm is newly implemented in the MS Visual IDE environment. While, additional texture imaging modules based on GLDV (Grey Level Difference Vector) are contained in this program. As for GLCM/GLDV texture variables, it composed of six types of second order texture function in the several quantization levels of 2(binary image), 8, and 16: Homogeneity, Dissimilarity, Energy, Entropy, Angular Second Moment, and Contrast. As for co-occurrence directionality, four directions are provided as $E-W(0^{\circ}),\;N-E(45^{\circ}),\;S-W(135^{\circ}),\;and\;N-S(90^{\circ}),$ and W-E direction is also considered in the negative direction of E- W direction. While, two direction modes are provided in this program: Omni-mode and Circular mode. Omni-mode is to compute all direction to avoid directionality problem, and circular direction is to compute texture variables by circular direction surrounding target pixel. At the second phase of this study, some examples with artificial image and actual satellite imagery are carried out to demonstrate effectiveness of texture imaging or to help texture image interpretation. As the reference, most previous studies related to texture image analysis have been used for the classification purpose, but this study aims at the creation and general uses of texture image for urban remote sensing.

When catilever beams rotate about axes perpendicular to the underformed beam's longitudinal axis, their bending stiffnesses change due to the stretching caused by centrifugal inertia forces. Such phenomena result in variations of natural frequencies and mode shapes associated with constant speed rotational motions of the beams. These variations are important in many practical applications such as helicopter blades, turbomachines, and space structures. This paper presents the formulation of a set of linear equations governing the lateral motion of rotating cantilever beams. These equations can be used to provide accurate predictions of the variations of natural frequencies and mode shapes associated with constant speed rotational motions of the beams. These variations are important in many practical applications such as helicopter blades, turbomachines, and space structures. This paper presents the formulation of a set of linear equations governing the lateral motion of rotating cantilever beams. These equations can be used to provide accurate predictions of the variations of natural frequencies and mode shapes due to rotation. This technique is simpler and more consistent than other conventional techniques which are commonly used in the literature.

It is a diffcult and challenging pproblem to control the growth of eppitaxial films. Heteroeppitaxy is esppecially idfficult because of the lattice mismatch between sub-strate and depposited layers. This mismatch leads usually to a three dimensional(3D) island growth. But the use of surfactants such as As, Sb, and Bi can be beneficial in obtaining high quality heteroeppitaxial films. In this study medium energy ion scattering sppectroscoppy(MEIS) was used in order to reveal the growth mode of Ge on Si(001) and the strain of depposited film without and with dynamically supplied atomic hydrogen at the growth thempperature of 35$0^{\circ}C$. It was ppossible to control the growth mode from layer-by-layer followed by 3D island to layer-by-layer by controlling the hydrogen flux. In the absent of hydro-gen the film grows in the layer-by-layer mode within the critical thickness(about 3ML) and the 3D island formation is followed(Fig1). The 3D island formation is suppressed by introducing hydrogen resulting in layer-by-layer growth beyond the critical thickness(Fig2) We measured angular shift of blocking dipp in order to obtain the structural information on the thin films. In the ppressence of atomic hydrogen the blocking 야 is shifted toward higher scattering angle about 1。. That means the film is distorted tetragonally and strained therefore(Fig4) In other case the shift of blocking dipp at 3ML is almost same as pprevious case. But above the critical thickness the pposition of blocking dipp is similar to that of Si bulk(Fig3). It means the films is relaxed from the first layer. There is 4.2% lattice mismatch between Ge and Si. That mismatch results in about 2。 shift of blocking dipp. We measured about 1。 shift. This fact could be due to the intermixing of Ge and Si. This expperimental results are consistent with Vegard's law which says that the lattice constant of alloys is linear combination of the lattic constants of the ppure materials.

The gangway connection of the articulated high speed railway vehicles (HSRV) is a double wrinkled rubber component to seal the air of the corridor under a range of angular deviations between the carriage end parts. From the results of non-linear structural analysis, one of the severe loading conditions for the connection is mixed mode (rolling+yawing) angular displacements while passing through the small-radius curved siding track of the HSRV depot. In this study, to ensure the safety enhancement of the component, the optimal design for the cross section of that was performed using the Solid Isotropic Material with Penalization (SIMP) method. Nonlinear finite element analysis confirmed that the decreases in the maximum principal strain of the optimized design under rolling and mixed modes are 68% and 39%, respectively, compared to the initial design.
In this study, we evaluated the performance of a commercial pixelated cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detector for spectroscopy and identified its feasibility as a Compton camera for radiation monitoring in a nuclear power plant. The detection system consisted of a $20mm{\times}20mm{\times}5mm$ CZT crystal with $8{\times}8$ pixelated anodes and a common cathode, in addition to an application specific integrated circuit. The performance of the various radioisotopes $^{57}Co$, $^{133}Ba$, $^{22}Na$, and $^{137}Cs$ was evaluated. In general, the amplitude of the induced signal in a CZT crystal depends on the interaction position and material non-uniformity. To minimize this dependency, a drift time correction was applied. The depth of each interaction was calculated by the drift time and the positional dependency of the signal amplitude was corrected based on the depth information. After the correction, the Compton regions of each spectrum were reduced, and energy resolutions of 122 keV, 356 keV, 511 keV, and 662 keV peaks were improved from 13.59%, 9.56%, 6.08%, and 5%-4.61%, 2.94%, 2.08%, and 2.2%, respectively. For the Compton imaging, simulations and experiments using one $^{137}Cs$ source with various angular positions and two $^{137}Cs$ sources were performed. Individual and multiple sources of $^{133}Ba$, $^{22}Na$, and $^{137}Cs$ were also measured. The images were successfully reconstructed by weighted list-mode maximum likelihood expectation maximization method. The angular resolutions and intrinsic efficiency of the $^{137}Cs$ experiments were approximately $7^{\circ}-9^{\circ}$ and $5{\times}10^{-4}-7{\times}10^{-4}$, respectively. The distortions of the source distribution were proportional to the offset angle.
