  • 수평형 MOCVD (유기금속 화학기상법) 제조공정에서 유체유동, 열전달 및 화학종의 국소적 질량분율을 고찰하기 위한 수치계산을 수행하였다. 수송가스로 작용하는 수소가스와 TMG및 암모니아의 농도분포를 예측함으로서 혼합과정을 분석하고 필름성장의 균일성을 예측하였다. 농도분포에 미치는 입구크기, 위치, 질량유량 및 벽면의 경사각도의 영향이 검토되었다. 계산결과로서 무차원 대류 열전달 계수 Nu에 의해 반응물의 농도분포를 정성적으로 예측할 수 있었으며, 균일한 필름성장을 위한 최적 질량유량, 벽면 경사도 및 입구조건이 제시되었다.

  • The purpose of this 3-D numerical simulation is to calculate and examine a 500 kW Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT) power performance and 3-D rotor flow characteristics, which are compared to calculation data from Delft University. The experimental approach, which has been the main method of investigation, appears to be reaching its limits, the cost increasing relate with the size of wind turbines. Hence, the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques and Navier-Stokes solvers is considered a very serious contender. We has used the CFD software package CFX-TASCflow as a modeling tool to predict the power performance and 3-D flow characteristics of a wind turbine on the basis of its geometry and operating data. The wind turbine with 40m diameters rotor, it was scaled to compare with the calculation data from delft university. The HAWT, which has eight-rpm variations are investigated respectively. The pitch angle is $+0.5^{\circ}$and wind speed is fixed at 5m/s. The tip speed ratio (TSR) of the HAWT ranging from 2.89 to 9.63.

Transitional Behavior of a Supersonic Flow in a Two-dimensional Diffuser

  • Two-dimensional blow-down type supersonic wind tunnel was designed and built to investigate the transient behavior of the startup of a supersonic flow from rest. The contour of the divergent part of the nozzle was determined by the MOC calculation. The converging part of the nozzle, upstream of fille throat was contoured to make the flow uniform at the throat. The flow characteristics of the steady supersonic condition were visualized using the high-speed schlieren photography. The Mach number was evaluated from the oblique shock wave angle on a sharp wedge with halt angle of 5 degree. The measured Mach number was 2.4 and was slightly less than the value predicted by the design calculation. The initial transient behavior of the nozzle was recorded by a high-speed digital video camera with schlieren technique. The measured transition time from standstill to a steady supersonic flow was estimated by analyzing the serial images. Typical transition time was approximately 0.1sec.

Mechanical performance of a new I-section weak-axis column bending connection

  • This paper reports a novel steel beam-to-column connection suitable for use in the weak axis of I-section column. Monotonic and cyclic loading experimental investigations and numerical analysis of the proposed weak-axis connection were conducted, and the calculation procedure of the beam-column relative rotation angle and plastic rotation angle was developed and described in details. A comparative analysis of mechanical property and steel consumption were employed for the proposed I-section column weak-axis connection and box-section column bending connection. The result showed that no signs of fracturing were observed and the plastic hinge formed reliably in the beam section away from the skin plate under the beam end monotonic loading, and the plastic hinge formed much closer to the skin plate under the beam end cyclic loading. The fracture of welds between diaphragm and skin plate would cause an unstable hysteretic response under the column top horizontal cyclic loading. The proposed weak-axis connection system could not only simplify the design calculation progress when I-section column is adopted in frame structural design but also effectively satisfy the requirements of 'strong joint and weak member', as well as lower steel consumption.

Analysis of Hysteretic Giant Magnetoimpedance Using Stoner-Wohlfarth Model

  • The hysteretic characteristics of giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) profiles have been measured in Co-based amorphous ribbon with various anisotropy angles $\theta_k$, and they have been analyzed by using the Stoner-Wohl-farth model. Two-peaks behavior with a dip near zero field is revealed in the measured GMI profile at 10 MHz irrespective of $\theta_k$. The negligible hysteresis of the field fur the dip is close to the calculation assuming the magnetization jump from a metastable to stable state. However, the hysteretic asymmetry far the angle range of $20^\circ\leq\theta_k < 60^\circ$ is well described by the divergence in the calculation without the magnetization jump. The asymmetry for $\theta_k\geq60^\circ$ may be due to the divergence, but the shapes of measured profiles are quite different from the calculations with single peak near zero field, indicating that Stoner-Wohlfarth model can be well used to describe GMI characteristics for the anisotropy angle range of $20^\circ\leq\theta_k < 60^\circ$at the frequency of 10 MHz in Co-based amorphous ribbons.

스마트배전 운영시스템용 구간부하 추정 프로그램 개발 (Development of Section Load Estimation Program for Smart Distribution Management System)

  • In this paper, we present the section load estimation program of distribution system for smart distribution management system. The proposed program is composed with three parts. One is the consistency check part for switch measurements which consist a section. The consistency check is divided into the current and angle test. For the current test, we examine the input and output power flow for the switch group. For the angle test, the result of power flow calculation at previous step is used. Another is the voltage estimation part for the measured switches. We use the weighted least square (WLS) method for the voltage estimation. The third is the part of final section load calculation. The database structure for accomplishing the developed estimation program is also proposed. To verify the accuracy of the experimental results, case studies are performed using a actual data of Jeju island. The developed program can be effectively applied to the distribution operation systems.

고순도 저마늄 감마선 검출기의 검출효율에 따른 유효입체각 검증에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Validation of Effective Angle of Particle Deposition according to the Detection Efficiency of High-purity Germanium Gamma-ray Detector)

  • 선원과 검출기 사이의 거리, 검출기 지름, 방사선원의 부피 효과 등에 의해 검출기 입사면에서 입체각(solid angle)의 변화가 생기고 이는 검출기 내부에서의 경로 길이(path length) 차이를 유발하여 검출효율 결정에 영향을 미친다. 유효입체각 계산을 위한 일반적인 분석 방법은 단순한 기하학적 구조를 가진 선원 (60Co)에만 유용하여 본 실험에서는 검출기와 선원 간 거리 window cap 0.5 cm 기준점으로 하여 25 cm 까지 이동 시 켜면서 측정하였다. 또한 표준부피선원 450 ㎖, 1000 ㎖ 마리넬리 비이커는 검출기에 밀착 시켜 측정하였다. 검출기와 동축인 원형 점선원의 경우, 검출기 창으로부터의 거리에 대한 입체 각도의 변화를 측정치와 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션으로 계산 분석 관계의 결과 검출기의 반지름이 선원의 반지름보다 작을 경우, 입체 각도는 선원의 제곱 반지름 대 검출기의 제곱 반지름의 절반과 같다. 입체 각도의 차이는 0.53가 되므로 몬테카를로의 결과는 허용된다. 검출기-선원 간 거리의 역수와의 관계를 나타내었다. 입체각도는 거리에 따라 급격하게 감소함을 확인하였다. 부피선원에 대한 측정치와 시뮬레이션 결과는 거리 0 cm에서 1.01 %이며 거리가 5 cm, 10 cm로 멀어지면 4 % 미만의 차이를 보인다. 거리가 10 cm 일 때 처음으로 계산결과가 측정 결과보다 작아진다. 이는 거리가 멀어질수록 입체각이 작아지고, 에너지가 낮아질수록 감쇠효과가 지수 함수적으로 증가하는 원리가 효율의 계산에 반영되는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 따라서 검출효율은 고체 각도 및 몬테카를로 코드를 사용하기에 충분함을 입증하였다.

2차원 직각좌표계에서 DEM을 이용한 ray effect의 해석 (Ray Effect Analysis Using the Discrete Elements Method in X-Y Geometry)

  • 입자 수송방정식에서 각변수(angular variable)를 각분할근사법으로 해석할 때 나타나는 이상 현상인 ray effect를 치유할 수 있는 방법의 하나로써, 유한 분할각(discrete angle quadrature)을 입자속의 공간적 분포로써 조종하는 방법인 각분할요소법 (discrete elements method)을 근거로 하여 2차원 직각좌표계에서의 입자 수송 해석 프로그램(TWODET)을 개발하였다. 평판형 등방적 고정선원이 존재하는 균질 사각형 흡수체에 대해 TWODET로 해석한 결과, 각 요소가 K-2, L인 경우에도 DOT 4.3(S-10)에서보다 ray effect 치유에 더 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 그러나, 계산시간은 기존의 각분할법에서보다 약 4배 더 소비되었다. 선원에서 바로 진공(vacuum boundary)으로 떨어지는 구조의 경우, TWODET의 결과에서도 심한 왜곡을 보이고 있는데 선원과 바로 이웃한 진공간의 급격한 불연속성으로 인함으로 추측된다 고정선원이 있는 매질에 강한 흡수체가 추가된 구조의 경우에서도 TWODET(K-3, L-4)로 DOT 4.3(S-10)보다 좋은 결과를 보였다.

회전(回轉)하는 나선(螺旋)날개 위에서의 경계층(境界層) 해석(解析) (Numerical Calculation of Turbulent Boundary Layer on Rotating Helical Blades)

  • Laminar and turbulent boundary layers on a rotating sector and a helical blade are calculated by differential method. The estimation of three dimensional viscous flows provide quite useful informations for the design of propellers and turbo-machinery. A general method of calculation is presented in this paper. Calculated laminar boundary layer on a sector shows smooth development of flows from Blasius' solution at the leading edge to von Karman's solution of a rotating disk at the down-stream. Eddy viscosity model is adopted for the calculation of turbulent flows. Turbulent flows on a rotating blade show similar characters as laminar flows. But cross-flow angle of turbulent flows are reduced in comparison with laminar boundary layers. Effects of rotation make flow structures significantly different from two-dimensional flows. In the range of Reynolds number of model scale propellers, large portion of the blade are still in the transition region from laminar to turbulent flows. Therefore viscous flow pattern might be quite different on the blade of model propeller. The present method of calculation is to be useful for the research of scale effects, cavitation, and roughness effects of propeller blades.

  • 효율적인 산불관리 및 예측을 위하여 GIS를 이용한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있으며 특히 경사는 산불의 확산에 많은 영향을 주는 것으로 알려져 있다. 지형 중 경사를 분석하기 위해 일반적으로 DEM(Digital elevation model)을 이용하여 다양한 알고리즘들이 사용되고 있다. 하지만 산불의 확산속도가 상향사면과 하향사면에 따라 다르기 때문에 새로운 경사계산 알고리즘이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 상향사면과 하향사면의 산불 확산속도를 반영할 수 있는 경사 계산 알고리즘을 개발하였다.
