박판성형시 컬 예측모델 개발(II)-실험적 검증 (Development of Prediction Model for Sidewall Curl in Sheet Meta1 Forming(II)-Experimental Validation)

  • Sidewall curl is the curvature that results from non-uniform through-thickness strain present in the sheet stamping process which involves material flow over a die radius. In order to understand and control curl for tight fit-up tolerances, an analytical model that can provide a reliable measure for the amount of curl would be very helpful. In this study, a model is developed based on the moment-curvature relationship during bending-under-tension operations. For the verification of analytical model, sidewall curl is experimentally measured after deformation of a strip using a bending-under-tension test system. The results show a consistent relationship between the theoretically predicted value and the experimentally obtained one, especially in regions of high curl.

  • In this study, the influence of groundwater variation and surface settlement adjacent to the excavation site of subway station on $\bigcirc$$\bigcirc$ Gas station and the $\bigcirc$$\bigcirc$ building is analized. Measurement data of surface settlement, horizontal deformation and groundwater level are used to verify the results of Caspe analytical method and FLAC numerical analysis. Variation of groundwater level adjacent to the excavation site is modelled by the 3-D groundwater flow program, MODFLOW. The results of both the analytical method and the numerical method were quite close to the measurement data of surface settlement.

Tension stiffening effect of RC panels subject to biaxial stresses

  • An analytical model which can simulate the post-cracking nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) members such as bars and panels subject to uniaxial and biaxial stresses is presented. The proposed model includes the description of biaxial failure criteria and the average stress-strain relation of reinforcing steel. Based on strain distribution functions of steel and concrete after cracking, a criterion to consider the tension-stiffening effect is proposed using the concept of average stresses and strains. The validity of the introduced model is established by comparing the analytical predictions for reinforced concrete uniaxial tension members with results from experimental studies. In advance, correlation studies between analytical results and experimental data are also extended to RC panels subject to biaxial tensile stresses to verify the efficiency of the proposed model and to identify the significance of various effects on the response of biaxially loaded reinforced concrete panels.

  • OFDM/FH communication system Is widely used in the wireless communication for the large capacity and high-speed data transmission. However, phase noise and PAPR (peak-to-average power ratio) are the serious problems causing performance impairment. In this paper, PLL (phase locked loop) frequency synthesizer with high switching speed is used for the phase noise model. SSPA and TWTA are considered for the nonlinear HPA model. Under these conditions and by approximating $e^{j{\phi}[m]}$ into $1 + j{\phi}[m]-\frac{1}{2}{\phi}^2[m]$ for the phase noise nonlinear approximation, SINR (signal-to-interference-noise-ratio) with nonlinear HPA and phase noise is derived in the OFDM/FH system. The bit error probabilities (BER) are found by computer simulation method and semi-analytical method. The simulation results closely match with the semi-analytical results.

  • Analytical expression for the breakdown voltage of the Schottky diode with double epitaxial layer has been obtained. Analytical results agree reasonably with the numerical simulations using MEDICI. It is expected that our results can be used for the optimum design of power MOSFET as well as the Schottky diodes with double epitaxial layer.

Dual Diversity over Correlated Ricean Fading Channels

  • The performance of dual diversity receivers operating over correlated Ricean fading channels is analyzed. Using a previously derived rapidly converging infinite series representation for the bivariate Ricean probability density function, analytical expressions for the statistics of dual-branch selection combining, maximal-ratio combining, and equal-gain combining output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are derived. These expressions are employed to obtain novel analytical formulae for the average output SNR, amount of fading, average bit error probability, and outage probability. The proposed mathematical analysis is used to study various novel performance evaluation results with parameters of interest the fading severity, average input SNRs, and the correlation coefficient. The series convergence rate is also examined verifying the fast convergence of the analytical expressions. The accuracy of most of the theoretical performance evaluation results are validated by means of computer simulations.

An Analysis on Surface Cracking Due to Thermomechanical Loading

  • This study deals with thermomechanical cracking between the friction surface and the interior of the brake disc. Analytical model considered in this study was a semi-infinite solid subjected to the thermal loading of an asperity moving with a high speed. The temperature field and the thermal stress state were obtained and discussed on the basis of Von Mises and Tresca Yielding Criterion. Analytical results showed that the dominant stress in cracking of friction brake is thermal stress and cracking location is dependent on the friction coefficient of contact and Peclet number. On the basis of analytical results thermomechanical cracking model is proposed.

Simultaneous Determination of 285 Chemicals in Water at ppt Levels by GC-Ion Trap Mass Spectrometry

  • The authors have developed an analytical method for determining trace amounts of 285 kinds of chemicals in natural waters by GC-ion trap MS. The results of overall recovery tests at $0.1{\mu}g/l$ showed that the mean recovery was 92.1% and the mean relative standard deviation was 10.8%. The mean of the method detection limits was $0.036{\mu}g/l$. From the results of analysis of real samples, it was confirmed that this method is useful to elucidate the concentration levels and the fate of chemicals in the aquatic environment.

  • The dynamic responses of highway bridges are varying depending on the features of either traveling vehicles or bridges. In this study, the probabilistic characteristics of dynamic amplification factors of highway bridges due to traveling heavy vehicles have been examined through analytical simulation processes. The truck with tandem axle and tractor with semitrailer are selected as the representative heavy vehicles, which are modeled with three dimensional 7-DOF and 12-DOF models, respectively. The analytical results have been compared with the experimental results of dynamic loading tests and the validity of the analytical models has been examined. Parametric studies on the means and extreme values of amplification factors have been performed with various traffic conditions such as vehicle types, vehicle weights, surface profiles, vehicle velocity, etc.

  • This study investigated the structural performance of the precast prestressed cylinder pipe having cracked under construction. The finite element formulation of PPC pipe incorporates Asoild elements using SAP90 program and the radial prestress force was transformed into the eqivalent external pressure. The analytical results were compared with the experimental results of full scale tests on PPC pipes subjected to static load. It is shown that the proposed modelling gives a realistic represention of the actual behavior. The analytical procedure is used to calculate the stresses in the PPC pipes and to check the crack opening under various situations such as bedding angle, earth pressure, and earth cover. Finally, the proposed modelling and analytical procedure should be especially usefull for the safety assessment of the PPC pipes under general loading conditions.
