MULTIPLE SCALE ANALYSIS OF A DELAYED PREDATOR PREY MODEL WITHIN RANDOM ENVIRONMENT

  • We consider a delayed predator prey model. The local stability and Hopf bifurcation results are stated taking the time delay as a control parameter. We apply multiple scale analysis to analyze the effects of additive white noises near the Hopf bifurcation point at the positive interior equilibrium state. The governing equations for the amplitude of oscillations on a slow time scale are derived. We identify the process of amplitude of oscillations and derive its transient properties. We show that oscillations, which would decay in the deterministic system whenever time delay lies below its critical value, persists for long time under the validity of multiple scale analysis.

타이로드의 구조적 내구성 해석 (Structural Durability Analysis of Tie Rod)

  • This study aims at the structural analysis of vibration and fatigue according to the tie rod configuration. The maximum displacement amplitude is happened at 156Hz by harmonic vibration analysis, this tie rod model can be broken as the weakest state. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sine wave' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sine wave' with the average stress of 0MPa and the amplitude stress of 570MPa, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 70%. This stress state can be shown with 140 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The structural result of this study can be effectively utilized with the design on tie rod by investigating prevention and durability against its damage.

레일 용접부의 결함 검출을 위한 어트랙터의 구성 및 해석에 관한 연구 (Defect Evaluation of Weld Zone in Rails Using Attractor and Distance Amplitude Characteristics Curve)

  • This study proposes the analysis and evaluation method of time series ultrasonic signal using the attractor analysis. Features extracted from time series signal analyze quantitatively characteristics of weld defects. For this purpose, analysis objective in this study is fractal dimension and attractor quadrant feature. Trajectory changes in the attractor indicated a substantial difference in fractal characteristics resulting from distance shifts such as parts of head and flange even though the types of defects are identified. These difference in characteristics of weld defects enables the evaluation of unique characteristics of defects in the weld zone. In quantitative fractal feature extraction, feature values of 3.848 in the case of part of head(crack) and 4.102 in the case of part of web(side hole) and 3.711 in the case of part of flange(crack) were proposed on the basis of fractal dimensions. Proposed attractor analysis and DAC in this study can enhance the precision rate of ultrasonic evaluation for defect signals of rail weld zone such as side hole and crack.

  • We derive estimates for the truncation, amplitude and jitter type errors associated with Hermite-type interpolations at equidistant nodes of functions in Paley-Wiener spaces. We give pointwise and uniform estimates. Some examples and comparisons which indicate that applying Hermite interpolations would improve the methods that use the classical sampling theorem are given.

  • In this study, we have evaluated the effect of amplitude and frequency perturbation of EGG signal during single vowels associated with laryngeal pathology. The normal EGG signal is properly characterized by an autoregressive model which has the optimal order of ninth using the parametric method. This can be analyzed by determining the transfer function. Perturbations in the fundamental pitch and in the peak amplitude of EGG signal derived with a four-electrode system using the modulation/demodulation techniques were investigated for the purpose of developing a decision criteria for the laryngeal function identification.

  • This study is concerned about the impact type damper for effectively restraining the high vibration amplitude in the resonance regions. The theoretical analysis is based on the assumption that the impacts occur twice per cycle at an equal time interval. Simple but reasonable approximations have been derived for the optimum collision clearance and maximum amplitude ratio. Using the impact dampers which is rigidly attached to the primary vibration system, we have experimented for mass ratios and restitution coefficients. The experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical results.

  • This paper provides a method for speech detection. After first order FIR filtering on the speech signals, we applied the conventional method of endpoint detection which utilizes the energy as the criterion in separating signals from background noise. By FIR filtering, only the Fourier components with large values of [amplitude x frequency] become significant in energy profile. By applying this procedure to the 445-words database constructed from ETRI, we confirmed that the low-amplitude noise and/or the low-frequency noise are separated clearly from the speech signals, thereby enhancing the feasibility of ideal endpoint detections.

  • The machine structure or parts has been arrive at a fracture, depend on crack by repeated load. Machine designer is estimate of fatigue strength in early stages the design for prevent fatigue fracture, then necessary its load history. This research study is using diesel locomotive in measurement of load history for fatigue design of rolling stock. The relation between velocity and amplitude of load history was found. We confirmed that the increase of velocity make to increase the magnitude of amplitude.

  • Global warming may shift the properties and dynamics of ENSO. We study the changes in ENSO characteristics in a coupled general circulation model, ECHO-G/S. First, we analyse the mean state changes by comparing present day simulation and various high $CO_2$ climates. The model shows a little El Nino-like changes in the sea surface temperature and wind stress in the eastern tropical Pacific. As the mean temperature rises, the ENSO amplitude and the frequency of strong El Ninos and La Nina decrease. The analysis shows that the weakening of the oceanic sensitivities is related to the weakening of ENSO. In addition to the surface changes, the remote subsurface sea temperature response in the western Pacific to the wind stress in the eastern Pacific influences the subsequent ENSO amplitude. However, ENSO amplitude does not show linear response to the greenhouse gas concentrations.

  • An automatic point traffic control method is recommended for more idealistic traffic flow over coarse road netowrks. The automatic control apparatus recommended, consists of a transceiver, amplifier, digital-to-analog converter, signal light controller for emergency and steady state, and digital counter as monitor. The transmitter sends a signal to the target vy means of Microwave-FM-CW and a diode detector picks up the echo signal. Thus the operation of the entire system will be carried out through an open loop state. Some factors necessary for an ideal detector system are rapid response, longevity and stability. An analytical method of the Doppler effect substitutes the conventional frequency deviation into the amplitude of detector output. The changing rate of amplitude is proportional to the voltage of the detector output. Some induced formula from Maxwell's radiation field theory ensures this new method, and, new method, and proves the fact with an experimental data presentation. Stability depends upon Klystron as an oscillator and a diode as a detector. the transceiver installation affects on the response and sensitivity of the system. In accordance with the detector output, several targets are easily classified by amplitudes on the scope. The traffic flow, i.e., target movement which is analyzed by the amplitude method, is shown through the scope and indicates it on the digital counter. The best efficiency for the amplitude analysis can be attained through use of an antenna having the highest sensitivity.
