본 연구는 사서가 등장인물로 나온 영화를 대상으로 사서의 이미지를 분석하여 영화 매체를 통해 투영되는 사서에 대한 대중적 이미지를 규명함으로써 사서의 대중적 이미지 개선 전략에 기여함을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 사서가 등장인물로 나온 1992년부터 2006년까지 한국과 미국에서 제작된 영화를 대상으로 양적 내용분석법을 통해 영화에 나타난 사서의 이미지를 분석하였다.

최근 들어 라틴아메리카에서의 한류의 인기는 폭발적이다. 본 연구는 멕시코와 페루에서의 한류 현상을 2012년부터 2014년까지 3년간의 한류 현황과 미디어 분석을 통해서 살펴보았다. 멕시코는 한류가 처음으로 중남미에 진출한 나라로 중남미 한류의 연구에서 중요한 의미를 가지고 있으며 현재까지도 한류의 영향이 중남미 지역에서 큰 지역이다. 또한 페루는 2014년 이후 한류의 인기가 급증한 국가로 페루에서의 한류 현상과 미디어 분석은 향후 한류의 중남미 진출을 전망할 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 것이다. 그리고 한류의 확장은 한국의 브랜드 이미지 제고에도 좋은 결과를 초래할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of expression and their effects of New painting in fashion illustration since 1990s. This study is focused on searching for the development in expressional techniques of the fashion illustration on the basis of various techniques of New painting. New painting as a trend of new expressionism in America was developed in opposition to the minimalism in the 1980s when the discussion of the post-modernism was most widely. The artists of New painting attempted to resurrect figure through the representation of figure and concrete image, rich in color and strong in image. They also expressed the realistic scene of life with the various kind of medium, materials and styles and appropriation of image from mass media and popular culture. The representation of fashion figure and image through the various kind of painting medium, techniques and styles can express the realistic and sensitive image and increase the communication ability in fashion illustration. It could also deliver the fashion message more clearly through the appropriation of image. These findings indicate that fashion illustrations accept variety by interacting with fine arts and expand the scope of expression.

최근 국가적인 관심사 중의 하나로 부각되고 있는 국가 이미지의 문제를 심층적으로 분석하고, 디자인을 활용한 국가 이미지의 개선 전략을 제시하였다. 급격한 경제 성장을 바탕으로 21세기 세계 초일류 국가로 성장을 하기 위해서는 국가 이미지의 개선이 시급한 과제로 대두되고 있음에 비추어, 핵심 용어의 정의와 문헌 연구를 통하여 국가 이미지의 기본 개념과 전략적 관리의 필요성을 고찰하였다. 이러 디자인을 국가 이미지 개선에 활용해야 하는 당위성을 미국과 일본의 사례를 중심으로 알아보고, 우리 나라 국가 이미지의 현황을 분석하였다. 끝으로 디자인을 활용한 국가 이미지 개선 전략을 주요 정책 방향과 세부적인 정책 과제로 구분하여 제시하였다.

The purposes of this study is for consideration of the flapper image through the culture and novels in Jazz Age(1919∼1929) of America. The back ground of flapper fashion was Jazz. Jazz was one of the cultural languages which expressed liveness, noise, salacity, harmony of primitivity, modernity, innocence and freedom. In processing American had gotten economic power, the Jazz Age had new mood which was combined materialism and realitism. Environmental changes of life styles and development of mass culture of modern big cities could aid the birth of modern girls, flappers. They became the main group of new consumer and mass culture in new consciousness and freedom with independence. Their characteristics are confirmed from Fitzgerald's novels, This Side of Paradise and The Great Gatsby. As the results of above, the consciousness of flapper were rebellious attitude, liberalism and actualism. The designs of flapper fashion were expressed by simplicity, functionality, nudity and rhythm. The flapper images are as follows: First, they expressed modern image as a rebellious attitude. Second, flapper had a sensual image of freedom through rhythmical and speedy expression. Third, premature image for pursuing youth could be found. Therefore the changes of culture and women's life styles are very important points for fashion studies and the connecting fashion and other fields like novels is needed also for it.

In order to create a national myth and be able to control international society, America with her short national history, used popular culture to accomplish these goals. The medium fit this purpose the best was the use of superhero characters based on comics. Born and developed from the 1930s through the 1960s, which could be seen as America's national crisis era, superhero characters were thorough advocates of American justice and was perfect for the role of spreading the legitimacy of American ideology. From the 1970s, superhero characters became part of movies and became even more influential through the Hollywood's massive film industry and the box office success. American ideology in superhero characters symbolically appeared in movie costumes. Starting with Superman and Batman, the very first and typical superhero characters' costumes work as metaphors for realization of American justice. After the 1980s, superheroes were newly developed through a genre called graphic novel and the most representative piece of this genre is Alan Moore's Watchmen. In the Watchmen, which was also turn into a movie in 2009, six changed superhero characters appear ranging from a non-human superhero, villain superhero, superhero with mental disorder and superhero with sexual impotency, the characters were never-seen-before superheroes with different aspects that connote introspection and philosophical ideology. The changed type of heroes and ideology became another form of heroes, and this brought changes to character costumes that were never considered before. The superhero costumes that used to symbolize America now express different types of superhero by borrowing exotic mythical elements, undressing, pastiche and daily life clothes. The superhero characters and their changes in costumes from Watchmen imply American popular culture's introspective tendency. Amongst these changes, we need to raise our critical vision towards popular culture.

Lake studies play an important role in water management, ecology, and other environmental issues. Typically, monitoring lake levels is the first step on the lake studies. However, for the Prairie Pothole Region (PPR) of North America having millions of small lakes and potholes, on-site measurement for lake levels is almost impossible with the conventional gage stations. Therefore, we employed Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing approach with the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission data to extract lake levels. Several image processing techniques were used to extract lake levels for January, 2000 as a one-time snapshot which will be useful in historic lake level reconstruction. This study is associated with other remote sensing datasets such as Landsat imagery and Digital Orthophoto Quadrangle (DOQ). In this research, firstly, image processing techniques like FFT filtering, Lee-sigma, masking with Canny Edge Detector, and contouring were tested for lake level estimation. The semi-automated contouring technique was developed to accomplish the bulk processing for large amount of lakes in this region. Also, effectiveness of each method for bulk processing was evaluated.

아주 높은 압축률에서도 시각적으로 만족할 만한 동영상을 전송할 수 있는 3차원 영상 분할기반 부호화법을 제안하였다. 두개의 변화검출 마스크를 이용하여 동영상에서 의미있는 움직임 영역만을 효과적으로 추출하고 또한, 차영상을 분할하는 대신 현재 프레임을 직접 분할함으로써 높은 압축률에서도 우수한 품질의 영상을 얻을 수 있다. 실험을 통해, 제안된 방법은 Miss America의 연속영상을 360배 정도의 압축률로 전송하였을 경우에도 재생영상의 품질이 우수함을 확인하였다.

The purpose of this study was to compare the concepts related to formal wear and casual wear, the expression image far formal wear and casual wear, the criteria for clothing selection, the most appropriate clothing for the specific situation, the price range, the kinds of accessories matched with clothing, the time for purchase, the patronage site, and the appropriate colors fur formal wear and casual wear. The total of 396 consumers, 20s' and 40s' female consumers in Korea and America were sampled in both countries. The sampling places were college campus, business district, department stores, and shopping mall in Seoul and Columbus, Ohio. Formal wear and casual wear were selected as survey items. The results showed that the consumers in both countries revealed emic and etic phenomena. Based on the results of this survey, the fundamental information and implications for clothing shopping behaviors in Korea and America can be provided.

Recently, as the status of South Korean popular culture has risen, the Korean Wave is gaining popularity not only in Asia but also in Europe, America, and South America, and is currently at the center of the global cultural phenomena. Among them, in particular, the cultural content industry has been developing rapidly thanks to the Korean Wave. Currently, the Korean Wave is spreading all over the world while bringing about positive effects to South Korea. In fact, until 2017, political and social issues such as 'North Korea/North Korean nuclear weapons' and 'Korean War' were considered as the images associated with South Korea, but from 2018, it has been shown that all images associated with South Korea are cultural content except for 'IT industry'. Given the economic effects that can be obtained not only from the positive associated images of South Korea per se but also from the complex action with various industries in South Korea, the craze for the Korean Wave can be viewed as affecting the overall national prestige of South Korea. For the steady vogue of the Korean Wave, thorough investigation of the Korean Wave and understanding of the expectations of consumers of the Korean Wave seem to be necessary
