  • A band function model paired comparison(BMPC) method is a kind of paired comparison methods. Considering that human has ambiguity, the BMPC method uses a monotonous increase function with the width as the human judgment characteristic. Since panel´s judgments do not always have enough response, it is very important to examine inspection abilities of each panel. In this study. We focus on the difference of band functions in each panel, which is the characteristic function of judgment in the BMPC method, and examine the method of obtaining panels inspection abilities. Three kinds of evaluation functions, "the dispersion of judgments", "the resolution", and "the difference of the judgments" are defined from Panel´s characteristic function of ...

  • A Bayesian response surface updating procedure is applied in order to update the parameters of the covariance function of a random field for concrete properties based on a limited number of available measurements. Formulas as well as a numerical algorithm are presented in order to update the parameters of response surfaces using Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulations. The parameters of the covariance function are often based on some kind of expert judgment due the lack of sufficient measurement data. However, a Bayesian updating technique enables to estimate the parameters of the covariance function more rigorously and with less ambiguity. Prior information can be incorporated in the form of vague or informative priors. The proposed estimation procedure is evaluated through numerical simulations and compared to the commonly used least square method.

  • In this paper, we studied resolution to the FBP(Filtered Back-Propagation) tomographic image reconstruction algorithms. In order to analyze the resolution to the tomographic images, we derived ambiguity function to this algorithm which can be reconstructed from the improved FBP image reconstruction algorithm by using fixed coordinate system practically. Through simulation using this function, we determined the lateral and depth resolution quantitively and then analyzed respectively. Simulation results show that the lateral and depth resolution to the improved FBP image reconstruction algerian was determined $0.27\lambda\;and\;0.70\lambda$ at the 3dB, and also $0.89\lambda\;and\;0.96\lambda$ at the 6dB respectively. This results proved that improved FBP reconstruction algorithms for diffraction tomography of incident planar wave is useful to developed the tomographic image system, analyze the resolution to the tomographic images, we derived ambiguity function to this algerian which can be reconstructed from the improved FBP image reconstruction algorithm by using fixed coordinate system.

  • Underwater acoustic communication channels have very complex channel characteristics caused by time-varying sea surface, submarine topography, sound speed, and geometry between transmitter and receiver. Especially, the channel has time-variance and doppler effect due to wind and sea current. We have to recognize the channel state and apply it to communication technique for increasing transmission efficiency in the underwater acoustic channel. In this paper, we present the frame recursive modulation and demodulation method using ambiguity function and autocorrelation function to estimate the doppler frequency. Furthermore, we conducted the simulation and sea experiment to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. When the channel coding technique was not used, the bit error rate performance of the proposed method was improved about 32 % compared with conventional method.

  • As the damage caused by GPS jamming has been increased, researches for detecting and preventing GPS jamming is being actively studied. This paper deals with a GPS jamming detection method using multiple GPS receiving channels and three-types machine learning techniques. Proposed multiple GPS channels consist of commercial GPS receiver with no anti-jamming function, receiver with just anti-noise jamming function and receiver with anti-noise and anti-spoofing jamming function. This system enables user to identify the characteristics of the jamming signals by comparing the coordinates received at each receiver. In this paper, The five types of jamming signals with different signal characteristics were entered to the system and three kinds of machine learning methods(AB: Adaptive Boosting, SVM: Support Vector Machine, DT: Decision Tree) were applied to perform jamming detection test. The results showed that the DT technique has the best performance with a detection rate of 96.9% when the single machine learning technique was applied. And it is confirmed that DT technique is more effective for GPS jamming detection than the binary classifier techniques because it has low ambiguity and simple hardware. It was also confirmed that SVM could be used only if additional solutions to ambiguity problem are applied.

  • A load calculation program based on TFM(Transfer function method) has been proposed in this study. The validity of the current method has been verified by comparing heat gain calculation by TRF(Thermal response factor) with that by CTF(Conduction transfer function) adopted in ASHRAE. In addition, it seems that the CTF coefficients given in ASHRAE tables have somewhat ambiguity The load calculation program developed in the current study has been employed to calculate cooling load from the exterior walls and roof of example 6 in the ASHRAE. The results are found in good agreement.

  • In this paper, we present an efficient test algorithm for data processing function of MC68000 \ulcorner. The test vector for functional testing is determined by stuck-at, coupling and transition fault for data storage and transfer. But for data manipulation it is determined by a boolean function of micro-operation. This test algorithm is composed of 3 parts, choosing optimum test instructions for maximizing fault coverage and minimizing test process time, deciding the test order for minimizing test ambiguity, and processing the actual test.

  • The purpose of this study is to observe the symbolic meaning and the values of the costume which express bisexuality through the definition from a culture point of view. The research method is to contemplate the documentary records such as world history, art history and clothing history, and to recognize the symbolic meaning of a bisexuality in modern fashion design. A definition the word´man and woman´restricted the human being for a long time. This restrict is enforced by the costume, but this traditional fixed idea is retarded by the liberal sense of the human being and the design expresses a sex ambiguity This study inspects the sex ambiguity and the meaning of that through a cultural background and a historical costume. The results are as follows: The first, the cultural background about bisexuality is classified into the etymological point, the mythologic point. the art and philosophical point, the political and economic background, the mass media, and the custome and the regulation. A bisexuality is a concept in existence from ancient times. we have an open-minded attitude about bisexuality in the present than the past. The second, the function of costume is sex classification before 20th century, but since 20th century the costume expresses sex ambiguity. The third, the symbols of the bisexuality are the interminacy, the unity and the dismantling. The costume which expresses bisexuality means coexistence of male sex and female sex. this is a kind of motion to embody a ideal body of the human being. This study makes a contribution to recognize the dignity of human body and to understand the phenomenon of modern society.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the mentoring function and its levels as perceived by the fashion merchandisers and designers in the fashion industry who are playing major roles in providing organizational socialization for mentees. A survey questionnaire was developed and conducted among 200 fashion merchandisers and designers in Seoul. For data analysis, the SPSS 10.0 program was employed and frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, recurrence analysis, T-test, and ANOVA were used to test the research questions. The results were as follows: (1) Although the overall level of the mentoring function recognized by the fashion merchandisers and designers in the study appeared to be high, there were no significant differences by their demographic attributes. (2) The level of the mentoring function acknowledged by the respondents demonstrated substantial differences according to their perception by the personal attributes and the degree of openness. (3) The level of the mentoring function and organizational socialization perceived by the respondents had a significant correlation. As the level of perceived mentoring function of the respondents increased, it appeared that the degree of their job satisfaction and organizational commitment increased. On the other hand, their role ambiguity and turnover intention decreased.

  • This paper introduces an approach to an ontology-based multi-level knowledge framework for a knowledge management system for discrete-product development. Participants in a product life cycle want to share comprehensive product knowledge without any ambiguity and heterogeneity. However, previous knowledge management approaches are limited in providing those aspects: therefore, we suggest an ontology-based multi-level knowledge framework (OBMKF). The bottom level, the axiom, specifies the semantics of concepts and relations of knowledge so ambiguity can be alleviated. The middle level is a product development knowledge map; it defines the concepts and the relations of the product domain knowledge and guides the engineer to process their engineering decisions. The middle level is then classified further into more detailed levels, such as generic product level, specific product level, product version level, and manufactured item level, according to the various viewpoints. The top level is specialized knowledge for a specific domain that gives the solution of a specific task or problem. It is classified into three knowledge types: expert knowledge, engineering function knowledge, and data-analysis-based knowledge. This proposed framework is based on ontology to accommodate a comprehensive range of knowledge and is represented with first-order logic to maintain a uniform representation.
