  • This paper proposes resource allocation method for achieving investment goals in manufacturing system. In order to align resource allocation and manufacturing system design, the system design decomposition (SDD) approach is used. In this paper, a mathematical formulation for resource allocation based on SDD approach is analyzed and a genetic algorithm application is discussed.

  • This paper proposed resource allocation algorithm for the minimum power consumption of functional unit in high level synthesis process as like DSP which is circuit to give many functional unit. In this paper, the proposed method though high level simulation find switching activity in circuit each functional unit exchange for binary sequence length and value bit are logic one value. To used the switching activity find the allocation with minimal power consumption, the proposed method visits all control steps one by one and determines the allocation with minimal power consumption at each control step.

  • In this research, tool allocation methods are studied in conjunction with loading and muting in FMSs. The objective function is to minimize production time while maximizing machine utilization of the FMS with several constraints. The proposed method has 2 steps. The first step is to determine tool allocation type with the proposed tool allocation method. The second step is to design loading models with routing. The effectiveness of the proposed FMS operation procedure is shown through numerical examples.

  • In this paper, we suggest a new lifetime allocation method of genetic algorithm with varying population size. This method can control the size of the population according to the fitness values. The population size is stabilized near the neighbourhood of the optimal value. We used the diploidy method in the coding of the chromosomes. Several simulations confirm that the new allocation method can control the size of the population.

  • This study deals with the adaptive multiuser OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system which adjusts the resource allocation according to the environmental changes in such as wireless and quality of service required by users. The resource allocation includes subcarrier assignment to users, modulation method and power used for subcarriers. We first develop a general optimization model which maximizes data throughput while satisfying data rates required by users and total power constraints. Based on the property that this problem has the 0 duality gap, we apply the subgradient dual optimization method which obtains the solution of the dual problem by iteration of simple calculations. Extensive experiments with realistic data have shown that the subgradient dual method is applicable to the real world system, and can be used as a dynamic resource allocation mechanism.

  • In this study ship collision risk analysis is performed to determine the design vessel for collision impact analysis of the maritime bridge. Method II which is a more complicated probability based analysis procedure is used to select the design vessel for collision impact. The AF allocation by weights seems to be more reasonable than the pylon concentration allocation method because this AF allocation takes the design parameter characteristics quantitatively into consideration although the pylon concentration allocation method brings more economical results when the overestimated design collision strength of piers compared to the strength of pylon is moderately modified.

  • In this paper, an optimal allocation method of a hybrid active power filter in an active distribution network is designed based on the differential evolution algorithm to resolve the harmonic generation problem when a distributed generation system is connected to the grid. A distributed generation system model in the calculation of power flow is established. An improved back/forward sweep algorithm and a decoupling algorithm are proposed for fundamental power flow and harmonic power flow. On this basis, a multi-objective optimization allocation model of the location and capacity of a hybrid filter in an active distribution network is built, and an optimal allocation scheme of the hybrid active power filter based on the differential evolution algorithm is proposed. To verify the effect of the harmonic suppression of the designed scheme, simulation analysis in an IEEE-33 nodes model and an experimental analysis on a test platform of a microgrid are adopted.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the allocation method which could be applied to the transitional stage between analysis and synthesis to select the best alternative in landscape planning process. By using the matrix of alternatives with site-planning elements locational drawing in each, the combinational allocation method can make the process more rational and also more efficient. Hand-drawn map overlay technique accommodates the work I handy way. The method is useful in building conceptual scheme in landscape planning especially when it is applied to small scale project.

  • In this work, we present a novel approach to the bit allocation problem that aims to minimize overall distortion subject to a bit rate constraint. The optimal solution can be found by the Lagrangian method with dynamic programming. However, the optimal bit allocation for block-based interframe coding is practically unattainable because of the interframe dependency of macroblocks caused by motion compensation. To reduce the computational burden while maintaining a result close to the optimum, i.e., near optimum, we propose an alternative method. First, we present a partitioned form of the bit allocation problem: a "frame-level problem" and "one-frame macroblock-level problems." We show that the solution to this new form is also the solution to the conventional bit allocation problem. Further, we propose a bit allocation algorithm using a "two-phase optimization technique" with an interframe dependency model and a rate-distortion model.

  • The ammunition allocation problem is a Multi-objective optimization(MOO) problem, maximizing fill-rate of multiple user troops and minimizing transportation time. Recent studies attempted to solve this problem by the prior preference articulation approach such as goal programming. They require that all the preference information of decision makers(DM) should be extracted prior to solving the problem. However, the prior preference information is difficult to implement properly in a rapidly changing state of war. Moreover they have some limitations such as heavy cognitive effort required to DM. This paper proposes a new ammunition allocation model based on more reasonable assumptions and uses an interactive MOO method to the ammunition allocation problem to overcome the limitations mentioned above. In particular, this article uses the GDF procedure, one of the well-known interactive optimization methods in the MOO liter-ature, in solving the ammunition allocation problem.
