We have grown AlN nanorods and AlN films using plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy by changing the Al source flux. Plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy of AlN was performed on c-plane $Al_2O_3$ substrates with different levels of aluminum (Al) flux but with the same nitrogen flux. Growth behavior of AlN was strongly affected by Al flux, as determined by in-situ reflection high energy electron diffraction. Prior to the growth, nitridation of the $Al_2O_3$ substrate was performed and a two-dimensionally grown AlN layer was formed by the nitridation process, in which the epitaxial relationship was determined to be [11-20]AlN//[10-10]$Al_2O_3$, and [10-10]AlN//[11-20]$Al_2O_3$. In the growth of AlN films after nitridation, vertically aligned nanorod-structured AlN was grown with a growth rate of $1.6{\mu}m/h$, in which the growth direction was <0001>, for low Al flux. However, with high Al flux, Al droplets with diameters of about $8{\mu}m$ were found, which implies an Al-rich growth environment. With moderate Al flux conditions, epitaxial AlN films were grown. Growth was maintained in two-dimensional or three-dimensional growth mode depending on the Al flux during the growth; however, final growth occurred in three-dimensional growth mode. A lowest root mean square roughness of 0.6 nm (for $2{\mu}m{\times}2{\mu}m$ area) was obtained, which indicates a very flat surface.

Incorporation of solid electrodes frequently involves plasma-based processing. The effect of plasma can influence the physical characteristics, depending on the magnitude in plasma. The undesired feature of plasma-induced damage should be prevented in characterizing the ultra-thin materials, such as ultra-thin films and organic monolayers. The current work at first proves the applicability of a liquid phase electrode in the electrical/dielectric properties through comparative work using Al and Hg on ultrathin $Al_2O_3$ films deposited through atomic layer deposition at low temperature: Two types of metals such as Aluminum (Al) and mercury (Hg) were used as electrodes in $Al_2O_3$ thin films in order to investigate the effect of electrode preparation on the current-voltage characteristics and impedance features as a function of thickness in $Al_2O_3$ film thickness. The success of Hg in $Al_2O_3$ thin films is applied to the AC and DC characterization of the organic monolayers obtained using the Langmuir-Blodgett method. From the DC current-voltage characteristics, the diode-like response is found to originate from the bulk response of the organic materials, evidenced by the fact and the capacitance is inversely related to the absolute thickness of organic layers.

Aluminum alloys are widely known as non-ferrous metal with light weight and high strength. Consequently, these materials take center stage in the aircraft and automobile industry. The Al7075 aluminum alloy is based on the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu and one of the strongest wrought aluminum alloys. Aluminum nitride has ten times higher thermal conductivity($319W/m{\cdot}K$) than Al2O3 and also has outstanding electric insulation($1{\times}1014{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$). Furthermore, it has high mechanical property (430 MPa) even though its co-efficient of thermal expansion is less than alumina For these reasons, it has great possibilities to be used for not only the field which needs high strength lightweight but also electronic material field because of its suitability to be applied to the insulator film of PCB or wafer of ceramic with high heat conduction. This paper investigates the mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of aluminum alloy Al7075 deposited with aluminum nitride thin films To improve the surface properties of Al7075 with respect to hardness, and resistance to corrosion, aluminum nitride thin films have been deposited by pulsed DC reactive magnetron sputtering. The pulsed DC power provides arc-free deposition of insulating films.
Highly oriented ${BaFe_{12}{O_{19}$ films were obtained by a KrF excimer laser ablation technique using (110)$(012){Al_2}{O_3}$(001)$(012){Al_2}{O_3}$ and $(012){Al_2}{O_3}$ substrates, respectively. The degree of alignment of more than 95% were achieved for (100) on (110)$(012){Al_2}{O_3}$ and (001)$(001){Al_2}{O_3}$ planes, and heteroepitaxial films of (114) on (012)$(012){Al_2}{O_3}$were possible to be grown with a lasing energy density of 6.67 J/$cm^2$ at an oxygen partial pressure ${PO_2}$ of 900 mTorr. The best magnetic properties were obtained from the as-deposited films at the substrate temperature of $700^{\circ}C$, and post annealing treatment was not needed to enhance the magnetic properties. Experimentally saturated magnetization ($4_pi M_S$) of 3600~3800 Gauss and coercivities $(H_c)$ of 3050~3080 Oe, which approach 85% of those of Ba-ferrite bulk composed of single domain particles, were obtained in this study.

The current-voltage characteristics of the sandwich system at different annealing temperatures and different bias voltages have been studied. In order to prepare the Al/V$O_X$/Al sandwich devices structure, thin films of vanadium oxide(V$O_X$) was deposited by r.f. magnetron sputtering from $V_2$$O_5$ target in 10% gas mixture of argon and oxygen, and annealed during lhour at different temperatures in vacuum. Crystall structure, surface morphology, and thickness of films were characterized through XRD, SEM and I-V characteristics were measured by electrometer. The films prepared below 20$0^{\circ}C$ were amorphous, and those prepared above 300 $^{\circ}C$were polycrystalline. At low fields electron injected to conduction band of vanadium oxide and formed space charge, current was limited by trap. Conduction mechanism at mid fields due to Schottky emission, while at high fields it changed to Fowler-Nordheim tunneling effects.

Recently zinc oxide(ZnO) has emerged as one of the most promising transparent conducting films with a strong demand of low cost and high performance optoelectronic devices, ZnO film has many advantages such as high chemical and mechanical stabilities, and abundance in nature. In this paper, in order to obtain the excellent transparent conducting film with low resistivity and high optical transmittance for Plasma Display Pannel(PDP), aluminium doped zinc oxide films were deposited on Corning glass substrate by dc magnetron sputtering method. The effects of the discharge power and doping amounts of $Al_2$$O_3$ on the electrical and optical properties were investigated experimentally. Particularly in order to lower the electrical resistivity, positive and negative bias voltages were applied on the substrate, and the effect of bias voltage on the electrical properties of ZnO:Al thin film were also studied and discussed. Films with lowest resistivity of $4.3 \times 10 ^{-4} \Omega-cm$ and good transmittance of 91.46 % have been achieved for the films deposited at 1 mtorr, $400^{\circ}C$, 40 W, Al content of 2 wt% with a substrate bias of +30 V for about 800 nm in film thickness.

Al doped Zinc Oxide(ZnO:Al) films, which is widely used as a transparent conductor in optoelectronic devices such as solar cell, liquid crystal display, plasma display panel, thermal heater, and other sensors were Prepared by using the capacitively coupled RF magnetron sputtering method. In this paper the effect of RF discharge power on the electrical, optical and structural properties were investigated experimentally. The results show that the structural and electrical properties of the film are highly affected by the variation of RF discharge power. The optimum growth conditions were obtained for films doped with 2 wt% of $Al_2O_3$ and 200 W in RF discharge power, which exhibit a resistivity of $10.4{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}-cm$ associated with a transmittance of 89.66 % for 1000nm in films thickness in the wavelength range of the visible spectrum.

It is well known that the equiatomic FeAl alloy crystallizes in a paramagnetic CsCl structure and is very stable in a wide temperature range owing to a significant charge transfer from Al to Fe. A presence of structural defects normally enhances the magnetic and magneto-optical properties of this alloy. In this study spin-resolved photoemission and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) were carried out on both ordered and disordered $Fe_{0.52}Al_{0.48}$ alloy films. The disordered state in the alloy films was obtained by a vapor quenching deposition on cooled substrates. It is shown that the order-disorder transition in the Fe0.52Al0.48 alloy films leads to a significant change in the spin polarization. Form the MCD results the orbital and spin magnetic moments of the constituent atoms are obtained. According to the sum rule the spin and orbital magnetic moments of Fe in the disordered FeAl film are $\mu\frac{SR}{spin}=0.8\mu_B$ and $\mu\frac{SR}{orb}=0.14\mu_B$ respectively. The spin magnetic moment is also evaluated to be $\mu\frac{BR}{spin}=0.77\mu_B$ by the branching ration method employing a photon polarization of 90%.

In this study, we studied the properties of ZnO(Al) and ZnO(AlGa) thin film according to film thickness deposited on SLG by In-line magnetron sputtering system. XRD, FESEM, 4-point probe, Hall measurement system and UV/Vis-NIR spectrophotometer were employed to analyze the properties of ZnO(Al) and ZnO(AlGa) thin film. The all films exhibited (002) preferential orientation with clear peak shape and high intensity. The carrier concentration and Hall mobility of ZnO(Al) and ZnO(AlGa) thin film were improved with increasing thickness. The resistivity of both films decreased when the film thickness was raised from 500 nm to 1,450 nm. And then relatively the resistivity of ZnO(AlGa) film was lower than that of ZnO(Al) film. The transmittance of the films decreased with increasing film thickness but all films exhibited optical transmittances of over 83.3% in the visible region.

Some effects of Al/N ratio on microstructure of AlN films grown on Si(111) substrates by PAMBE were investigated. Al/N ratio was controlled by rf power of N$_2$ plasma source system. Al excess or N excess conditions were obtained below or above 350 W rf power, respectively. Surface roughness and morphology of AlN film grown at Al/N=1.0 showed the best result. Under Al excess condition, it was suggested that excess Al atoms which did not contribute to the growth of AlN film prevent the normal crystal growth and make abnormal growth of some columns. However, under N excess condition, it was explained that some of the excess active N source turned into gas state and then desorbed out from substrate.
