In this paper, implementation of an integrated transformer applicable to power supply units (PSUs) for a 150-W LED with a wide range of output voltage is presented. The transformer is comprised of a PFC inductor and an LLC resonant transformer, each of which is placed and integrated on an E-I-E-type magnetic core. Integrated transformers with two different air gap topologies (i.e., the side and center gap topologies) are considered in the design phase to investigate their applicability. The design consideration on the LLC resonant converter used for the wide-output-voltage control ranges is described, and the overall performance of the proposed system is verified through realization of it onto a 150-W LED PSU board.

The partial discharge detecting method using the ultrasonic technique has been investigated to monitor the insulation ageing of a transformer. However, the result of the studies on the ultrasonic technique for detecting of partial discharge in the operating transformer is not enough yet to utilize. This paper presents the analysis of the ultrasonic signals due to the partial discharge in a model transformer and the corona in air at a shielded high voltage room. In addition, the ultrasonic signals due to the vibration from the core, operation of the cooling pump, the fan and the OLTC at the 345㎸ power transformer, were analyzed and corona noise from overhead transmission line in 345㎸ substation were measured to remove the electrical and mechanical noises from the transformer. Furthermore, ultrasonic signal due to the partial discharge in the 154㎸ power transformer with in $C_2$$H_2$ gas warning condition was measured. The inside of the transformer was examined with care. which confirms the existence of the partial discharge source.

In this paper, we found the improved SPICE heat transfer modeling of impulsed magnetizing fixture system and investigated temperature characteristics using the proposed model. As the detailed thermal characteristics of magnetizing fixture can be obtained, the efficient design of the impulsed magnetizing fixture which produce desired magnet will be possible using our heat transfer modeling. The knowledge of the temperature of the magnetizing fixture is very important of forecast the characteristics of the magnetizing fixture which produce desired magnet will be possible using our heat transfer modeling. The knowledge of the temperature of the magnetizing fixture is very important to forecast the characteristics of the magnetizing circuits under different conditions. The capacitor voltage was not raised above 810[V] to protect the magnetizing fixture from excessive heating. The purpose of this work is to compute the temperature increasing for different magnetizing conditions. The method uses multi-lumped model with equivalent thermal resistance and thermal capacitance. The reliable results are obtained by using iron core fixture (stator magnet of air cleaner DC motor) coupled to a low-voltage magnetizer(charging voltage : 1000[V], capacitor : 3825[$\mu$F]. The modeling and experimental results are in close aggrement.

Recently, as architectural concrete structures become high-rise and megastructured, concrete become high-strengthened and, by ensuring products of more stability, air compression and rationalization of construction are required. In general, product management test of precast concrete member, specimen for management cured in the same condition with precast concrete member is substitutively used for strength test. However, large cross-sectional precast concrete members such as columns show large temperature increase in manufacturing process not only by external heating but also by concrete itself's hydration heating. Therefore, it is expected that specimen for management to predict strength and compression strength of precast concrete member shows different temperature history and strength characteristics. Concerning this, in order to suggest temperature history and strength characteristics of high strength mass concrete suitable for precast concrete application, this study comprises the inclusive investigations on the relations between management specimen with similar temperature history and core strength, and the strength characteristics per member cross-section dimensional value and per water-bonding material ratio value.

A magnetically levitated micro-positioner is implemented to avoid mechanical friction and increase precision. Since magnetic levitation system is inherently unstable, most concern is focused on a magnetic circuit design to increase the system dynamic stability. For this, the proposed levitation system is constructed by using an antagonistic structure which permits a simple design and robust stability. From the dynamic equations of motion, it is verified that the proposed magnetically levitated system is decoupled in 6 degree-of-freedom motion. Experimental results are presented in terms of time response and accuracy.
This paper is dedicated to the development of cooling devices such as mLHP with Fan-Fin system limited by noise and vibration. As we know, Heat pipe has the limitation of cooling capability to cool down the electronics. It is bounded by capillary and thermal limitation but heat load that it has to deal with is increasing. Especially Today's electronic technology has a tendency to integrate lots of function into the small piece of a processor like Dual core having 35W heat load for mobile and desktop computer respectively. There is an optimum operating condition of temperature, below $70^{\circ}C$, during the maximum heat load, 35W. There is the motivation needed to develop the new type of cooling devices and we can discuss about the new challenge beyond heat pipe.
The data center has become an increasingly important part of most business operations. An increasing demand for computation has led to increasing industry energy consumption. Therefore, higher-than-normal rates of energy efficiency have become a core issue in the life cycle of data center. In this paper, we proposed the framework of level diagnosis for green data centre that can be used to diagnose the levels of capability maturity model. This framework contains the 5 key areas such as construction, air-conditioning, electricity, information technology, organization and indicators that can be applied as basic level diagnosis guide for green data center.
This work looks at the effect of changes in kinetic parameters on simultaneous reactivity insertions and beam tube flooding in a typical material testing reactor-type research reactor with low enriched high density ($U_3Si_2-Al$) fuel. Using a modified PARET code, various ramp reactivity insertions (from $0.1/0.5 s to $1.3/0.5 s) plus beam tube flooding ($0.5/0.25 s) accidents under uncontrolled conditions were analyzed to find their effects on peak power, net reactivity, and temperature. Then, the effects of changes in kinetic parameters including the Doppler coefficient, prompt neutron lifetime, and delayed neutron fractions on simultaneous reactivity insertion and beam tube flooding accidents were analyzed. Results show that the power peak values are significantly sensitive to the Doppler coefficient of the system in coupled accidents. The material testing reactor-type system under such a coupled accident is not very sensitive to changes in the prompt neutron life time; the core under such a coupled transient is not very sensitive to changes in the effective delayed neutron fraction.
Daylighting is core of sustainable design in most buildings. Well-designed daylighting systems can significantly reduce or even eliminate the electric lighting loads during the day time, including air conditioning energy loads. Among window systems. the topside lights systems including monitor lighting, sawtooth lighting, sunscoop and, lightscoop is one of the most popular apparatus to improve the lighting quantity. Also they are important both in terms of energy savings and visual quality. The objective of this study is to analyse daylighting performance of topside lighting system for different orientations. Four types of topside lighting system were tested and comparpd: monitor lighting, sawtooth lighting, lightscoop and sunscoop. Totally 25 measuring points of illuminance on the horizontal plane were monitored from 09:00 to 17:00 on October 6, 2008. Agilent data logger and photometric sensors Li-cor were used. Comparisons with a light factor is discussed. The results found in this study would mean that there were no significant differences in light factor between three cases.
We investigated the structure of inductive coupler and its magnetic coupling to increase the transmission coefficient for power line communication. A Rogowski coil, which is an air-cored inductive coupler, and a magnetic cored coupler were fabricated to analyze the transmission coefficient for different coupler parameters. This paper proposes the impedance matching method using lumped elements and an impedance transformer to increase the transmission coefficient. In the experiment, the transmission coefficient of the proposed system was increased in both narrowband and broadband cases, and a trade-off between the transmission coefficient and the bandwidth was shown. This method will be useful for the further study of impedance matching with the load variation.
