A Study on the Implications of Korea Through the Policy Analysis of AI Start-up Companies in Major Countries (주요국 AI 창업기업 정책 분석을 통한 국내 시사점 연구)

  • As artificial intelligence (AI) technology is recognized as a key technology that will determine future national competitiveness, competition for AI technology and industry promotion policies in major countries is intensifying. This study aims to present implications for domestic policy making by analyzing the policies of major countries on the start-up of AI companies, which are the basis of the AI industry ecosystem. The top four countries and the EU for the number of new investment attraction companies in the 2023 AI Index announced by the HAI Research Institute at Stanford University in the United States were selected, The United States enacted the National AI Initiative Act (NAIIA) in 2021. Through this law, The US Government is promoting continued leadership in the United States in AI R&D, developing reliable AI systems in the public and private sectors, building an AI system ecosystem across society, and strengthening DB management and access to AI policies conducted by all federal agencies. In the 14th Five-Year (2021-2025) Plan and 2035 Long-term Goals held in 2021, China has specified AI as the first of the seven strategic high-tech technologies, and is developing policies aimed at becoming the No. 1 AI global powerhouse by 2030. The UK is investing in innovative R&D companies through the 'Future Fund Breakthrough' in 2021, and is expanding related investments by preparing national strategies to leap forward as AI leaders, such as the implementation plan of the national AI strategy in 2022. Israel is supporting technology investment in start-up companies centered on the Innovation Agency, and the Innovation Agency is leading mid- to long-term investments of 2 to 15 years and regulatory reforms for new technologies. The EU is strengthening its digital innovation hub network and creating the InvestEU (European Strategic Investment Fund) and AI investment fund to support the use of AI by SMEs. This study aims to contribute to analyzing the policies of major foreign countries in making AI company start-up policies and providing a basis for Korea's strategy search. The limitations of the study are the limitations of the countries to be analyzed and the failure to attempt comparative analysis of the policy environments of the countries under the same conditions.

A Case Study of Creative Art Based on AI Generation Technology

  • In recent years, with the breakthrough of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in deep learning algorithms such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Variational Autoencoders (VAE), AI generation technology has rapidly expanded in various sub-sectors in the art field. 2022 as the explosive year of AI-generated art, especially in the creation of AI-generated art creative design, many excellent works have been born, which has improved the work efficiency of art design. This study analyzed the application design characteristics of AI generation technology in two sub fields of artistic creative design of AI painting and AI animation production , and compares the differences between traditional painting and AI painting in the field of painting. Through the research of this paper, the advantages and problems in the process of AI creative design are summarized. Although AI art designs are affected by technical limitations, there are still flaws in artworks and practical problems such as copyright and income, but it provides a strong technical guarantee in the expansion of subdivisions of artistic innovation and technology integration, and has extremely high research value.

  • Recently with the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies such as Chat GPT, AI semiconductors have become important. AI technologies require the ability to process large volumes of data quickly, as they perform tasks such as big data processing, deep learning, and algorithms. However, AI semiconductors encounter challenges with excessive power consumption and data bottlenecks during the processing of large-scale data. Thus, the latest packaging technologies are required for AI semiconductor computations. In this study, the authors have described packaging technologies applicable to AI semiconductors, including interposers, Through-Silicon-Via (TSV), bumping, Chiplet, and hybrid bonding. These technologies are expected to contribute to enhance the power efficiency and processing speed of AI semiconductors.

Analysis of Domestic Research Trends in AI Ethics Education (인공지능윤리교육의 국내 연구 동향 분석)

  • This study examined research trends in AI ethics education and attempted to suggest a direction for AI ethics education. As a result of the research, two studies were conducted in 2017. There are no studies in 2018 and 2019, and there are 6 studies in 2020. Since then, research has continued to increase, with 19 studies in 2021 and 18 studies in 2022. There were a total of 37 lead authors of the study. There were six lead authors who had published papers for more than two years, and two lead authors who had published papers for more than three years. In addition, to examine the details of AI ethics education, a total of 265 keywords that went through a refining process were divided into education-related, ethics-related, AI-related, and other-related. Although the necessity and importance of research on AI ethics education is expected to increase, there are not many researchers who continuously conduct research on AI ethics education. Accordingly, there is a need to find ways to continue research on AI ethics education. AI ethics education is being conducted under various names such as moral education, ethics education, liberal arts education, and AI education. Accordingly, research on AI ethics education at various levels and forms should be conducted, not just educational research on artificial intelligence ethics in terms of regular subjects.

Deep Analysis of Causal AI-Based Data Analysis Techniques for the Status Evaluation of Casual AI Technology (인과적 인공지능 기반 데이터 분석 기법의 심층 분석을 통한 인과적 AI 기술의 현황 분석)

  • With the advent of deep learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has experienced rapid advancements, extending its application across various industrial sectors. However, the focus has shifted from the independent use of AI technology to its dispersion and proliferation through the open AI ecosystem. This shift signifies the transition from a phase of research and development to an era where AI technology is becoming widely accessible to the general public. However, as this dispersion continues, there is an increasing demand for the verification of outcomes derived from AI technologies. Causal AI applies the traditional concept of causal inference to AI, allowing not only the analysis of data correlations but also the derivation of the causes of the results, thereby obtaining the optimal output values. Causal AI technology addresses these limitations by applying the theory of causal inference to machine learning and deep learning to derive the basis of the analysis results. This paper analyzes recent cases of causal AI technology and presents the major tasks and directions of causal AI, extracting patterns between data using the correlation between them and presenting the results of the analysis.

Factors Influencing College Students' Satisfaction with Generative AI

  • The purpose of this study is to identify factors influencing satisfaction with the use of generative AI among college students who have experience using generative AI to learn or perform tasks. For this purpose, multiple regression analysis was conducted using the response data from 168 college students. The results of the study were as follows. First, arts majors were less satisfied with using generative AI than engineering majors. Second, 'Improved Learning', 'Problem Solving', and 'Increase Creativity' were found to affect satisfaction with generative AI. However, 'Active Learning' and 'Performing Tasks' were found to have no effect on satisfaction with using generative AI. Based on these results, we discussed ways to effectively use generative AI.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a Chemistry I class based on an artificial intelligence (AI) classification model. To achieve this, the research investigated the development and application of a class utilizing an AI classification model in Chemistry I classes conducted at D High School in Gyeongbuk during the first semester of 2023. After selecting the curriculum content and AI tools, and determining the curriculum-AI integration education model as well as AI hardware and software, we developed detailed activities for the program and applied them in actual classes. Following the implementation of the classes, it was confirmed that students' self-efficacy improved in three aspects: chemistry concept formation, AI value perception, and AI-based maker competency. Specifically, the chemistry classes based on text and image classification models had a positive impact on students' self-efficacy for chemistry concept formation, enhanced students' perception of AI value and interest, and contributed to improving students' AI and physical computing abilities. These results demonstrate the positive impact of the Chemistry I class based on an AI classification model on students, providing evidence of its utility in educational settings.

Systematic literature review on AI-based mathematics teaching and learning: Focusing on the role of AI and teachers (AI 기반 수학 교수·학습에 대한 체계적 문헌 고찰: AI의 역할과 교사의 역할을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore research trends on AI-based mathematics teaching and learning. For this purpose, a systematic literature review was conducted on 57 literatures in terms of research subject, research method, research purpose, learning content, type of AI, role of AI, and role of teachers. The results indicate that student accounted for the largest proportion at 51% among the research subjects, and quantitative research was the highest at 49% among the research methods. The purpose of study was distributed as follows: effect analysis 44%, theoretical discussion 35%, case study 21%. 'Numbers and Operations' and 'Variables and Expressions' covered learning contents most, and Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) was used the most among the types of AI. 'Student teaching' was the largest parts of role of AI at 40.4%, followed by 'teacher support' at 22.8%, 'student support' at 21%, and 'system support' at 15.8%. The role of teachers as 'AI recipients' was highlighted in earlier studies, and the role of teachers as 'constructive partner with AI' was highlighted in more recent studies. Also, role of teachers was explored in pedagogical, AI-technological, content aspects. Through this, follow-up research was suggested and the roles that teachers should have in AI-based mathematics teaching and learning were discussed.

  • This study investigates the ethical and legal implications of utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) in human resource management, with a particular focus on AI interviews in the recruitment process. AI, defined as the capability of computer programs to perform tasks associated with human intelligence such as reasoning, learning, and adapting, is increasingly being integrated into HR practices. The deployment of AI in recruitment, specifically through AI-driven interviews, promises efficiency and objectivity but also raises significant ethical and legal concerns. These concerns include potential biases in AI algorithms, transparency in AI decision-making processes, data privacy issues, and compliance with existing labor laws and regulations. By analyzing case studies and reviewing relevant literature, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of these challenges and propose recommendations for ensuring ethical and legal compliance in AI-based HR practices. The findings suggest that while AI can enhance recruitment efficiency, it is imperative to establish robust ethical guidelines and legal frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure fair and transparent hiring practices.

  • In addition to the 4th Industrial Revolution and Industry 4.0, the recent megatrends in the ICT field are Big-data, IoT, Cloud Computing, and Artificial Intelligence. Therefore, rapid digital transformation according to the convergence of various industrial areas and ICT fields is an ongoing trend that is due to the development of technology of AI services suitable for the era of the 4th industrial revolution and the development of subdivided technologies such as (Business Intelligence), IA (Intelligent Analytics, BI + AI), AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things), AIOPS (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations), and RPA 2.0 (Robotic Process Automation + AI). This study aims to integrate and advance various machine learning services of infrastructure-side GPU, CDA (Connected Data Architecture) framework, and AI based on mass distributed Abyss storage in accordance with these technical situations. Also, we want to utilize AI business revenue model in various industries.
