  • Wear-leveling techniques and Error Correction Codes (ECCs) are essential for the improvement of the reliability and durability of flash memories. Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes have higher error correction capabilities than conventional ECCs and have been applied to various flash memory-based storage devices. Conventional wear-leveling schemes using only the number of Program/Erase (P/E) cycles are not enough to reflect the actual aging differences of flash memory components. This paper introduces an actual aging measurement scheme for flash memory wear-leveling using LDPC decoding information. Our analysis, using error-rates obtained from an flash memory module, shows that LDPC decoding information can represent the aging degree of each block. We also show the effectiveness of the wear-leveling based on the proposed scheme through wear-leveling simulation experiments.

  • Recently polymer insulators are being used for outdoor high voltage applications. Polymer insulators for transmission line have significant advantages over porcelain and glass insulators, especially for ultra-high voltage transmission lines. Their advantages are light weight, vandalism resistance and hydrophobicity. Polymer insulators are a relatively new technology, but their expected life is still unknown. Therefore these estimating technique are very important. Their life time is related to weathering and operating condition. Multi-aging test is requested because aging factor is occurred by multi-aging than unique aging. The aging test about polymer insulators have mainly carried out by IEC 61109. This paper presents multi-stress chamber experiments and tracking wheel test to examine the tracking and erosion performance of polymer insulator for transmission. Multi-stress testing is able to demonstrate deficiencies of polymer insulator materials and designs, including the nature of interfaces in insulation design. We have investigated IEC 61109 Annex C (5000h aging test) and CEA tracking wheel test as test methods of artificial accelerated aging. The aging degree of polymer insulator is estimated by leakage current, measurement of hydrophobicity degree, damage conditions of insulator surface, withstand voltage test etc.

  • Recovery behaviors of unfilled NR, BR, and SBR vulcanizates after aging with a circular deformation were compared to prevent the influence of reinforcing agent. Samples were aged at room temperature, 50, 70, and $90^{\circ}C$ for 10 days. Recovery increased by increasing the measurement time. Instantaneous recoveries less than 1.0 sec were obtained using the recovery variations with the measurement time. For aging at room temperature, difference in the recoveries of the rubber samples was not significant because the aging time was too short. However, for accelerated thermal aging at 50, 70, and $90^{\circ}C$, difference in the recoveries of the rubber samples was significant. Degree of recovery of BR specimen was higher than those of the others, while that of SBR was lowest. However, for accelerated thermal aging at $90^{\circ}C$, recovery of the NR sample was higher than that of the BR one. The initial recovery decreased by increasing the aging temperature and the decrement of SBR was larger than the others. The experimental results were explained with the resilience properties of rubbers and the crosslink density changes by thermal aging.

  • In this paper, A telemetering control system for the HDTV SMPS Aging System is developed. Manual Aging System is usually used to measurement of a produced SMPS. But in this system, the respective operator is arranged and monitoring the test cycle visually- According to an excess of the test time and mistakes of an operator, the reliability makes come to be low. Therefore as using the telemetering control system, it improves a productivity and a reliability of the HDTV SMPS. In the developed system, elec1rical signal is measured from aging system, and converted into the digital signal. Also the telemetering control system is composed of many units - telemetering control units for collecting the data, data relay units for the digital transmission service, data division for the multichannel realization.

  • This paper presents setting up a laboratory-scale testbed to estimate the aging of power MOSFET devices and integrated power modules by measuring its on-state voltage and current. Based on the aging mechanisms of the component inside the power module (e.g., bond-wire, solder layer, and semiconductor chip), a system to measure the on-state resistance of device-under-test (DUT) is designed and experimented: a full-bridge circuit applies current stress to DUT, and a temperature chamber controls the ambient temperature of DUT during the aging test. The on-state resistance of SiC MOSFET measured by the proposed testbed was increased by 2.5%-3% after 44-hour of the aging test.

  • The measurement of the total antioxidant capacity (TAC) of human plasma has been widely applied in nutritional science, for example to evaluate the antioxidant contribution of dietary components and to study, although indirectly, the bioavailability of dietary antioxidants. Several methods have been proposed for the measurement of TAC, most of them based on the ability of plasma to withstand the oxidative damage induced by aqueous radicals. Although plasma contains both hydrophilic and lipophilic antioxidants that interact through extensive cross-talk in most of the methods employed for the TAC measurement, the hydrophilic antioxidants such as ascorbic acid, uric acid, and protein thiols mainly contribute to the total antioxidant plasma capacity (almost 70%) while lipophilic antioxidants embedded in the lipoproteins (carotenoids, a-tocopherol, ubiquino1-10) participate only in a negligible amount (less than 5%). The present paper reviews the analytical methods used to assess the TAC and in particular focuses on new approaches that are capable of distinguishing the antioxidant capacity of both the aqueous and lipid compartments of plasma. The general principle of the method as well as some in vitro and ex vivo applications will be discussed within the text.

  • As the battery ages, the internal resistance of the battery increases, so the loss due to the internal resistance increases at the same charging current, causing the battery temperature to rise, which further accelerates battery aging. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the charging conditions according to the aging of the battery or the current charge amount, and to accurately estimate this, estimation of the parameters of the equivalent circuit is most important. This paper proposes a new measurement technique that can measure the internal resistance of a battery by analyzing a specific high frequency voltage and current applied to the battery. In addition, in order to test the validity of the proposed measurement technique, the current charging amount was estimated based on the measured internal resistance, and the terminal voltage of the constant current charging mode was automatically set and operated. As a result, good results were obtained regardless of the battery voltage. If this equipment is installed in the charging device, it is believed that it will be of great help in the stability management of the aging reusable battery.

  • The HFPD measurement method is a technique to analyze aging state of high voltage insulation materials and detect higher frequency signals than conventional PD measurement method therefore it takes less noise effect and could execute active line measurement. It is possible to analyze main discharge phenomena and obtain access to aging progress occurred in insulation materials through accumulation of HFPD signals during determined interval and expression of fractal dimension using statistical process of accumulated signals. In this study, the statistical parameters (skewness & kurtosis) and fractal dimensions are changed by discharge patterns that is shown up different characteristics with applied voltages and times.

  • In present measurement of moisture contents is used as one of method for estimating degradation of transformer. Most of people use Karl-Fischer titration method for detection moisture contents but this measurement is inconvenient method because we must analyze transformer oil-paper after dismounting transformer and sampling in field. Therefore we don't directly investigate them in field. In this paper we will introduce Recovery Voltage Method(RVM) that is new method for estimating measurement in field though dismounting facility. For measure of moisture contents using RVM in accordance with accelerated thermal aging we have made experimental test cell and aged at a temperature up to 140$^{\circ}C$ for 300 hours. And we have been measured at intervals of 100 hours using RVM 5462 made in fetter company.

  • In this study, in order to understand the degradation characteristics of oil-paper insulation for power transformers and OF cables, tan delta was measured using cable model specimens with long-term accelerated thermal and electrical aging. In addition, to find out the degradation level due to the accelerated aging, tensile strengths of aged papers were measured. As a result, tan ${\delta}$ showed the characteristics of slight decrease at the first stage and then increase with the aging time, which could be analyzed due to the evaporation of remaining moisture and the change of aging rate with time. Also, the trend of tensile strengths with aging temperature and time was appeared to be exponentially decreased and by use of these data equivalent calculated lifetimes and accelerated aging factors were derived for each aging temperatures. After then, tan ${\delta}$ was analyzed with the equivalent operating years. For all different aging temperatures, the aged data were very well fit to the equivalent operating years and it is shown that tan ${\delta}$ was increased with the decrease of tensile strength.
