  • Lithium-ion battery (LIB) usually used for valuable electronic devices are extended to applications. High stability negative electrode materials for LIB were investigated using electrodeposition of nanoparticles (NPs) on the nanostructured carbon. NPs with about 70 nm diameters were evenly prepared on the graphitic carbon materials using electrodeposition process at room temperature. It was observed that the NPs were homogeneously embedded into not only external surface but bottom part of the graphitic carbon network. The graphitic carbon material covered with NPs enables facile electron transport owing to the network structure and improves structural collapse during cycling. This facile room temperature process is expected to be applicable to other anode materials such as Sn and Al for the anode of LIB.

  • We fabricated white organic light emitting device (WOLED) with the layered fluorescent blue material and phosphorescent green/red dye-doped materials. Addition of the non-doped phosphorescent host material between the fluorescent and phosphorescent light emitting layers provided the result of broadband white spectrum, with improved balance, higher efficiency, and lower power consumption. In our devices, there was no need of exciton-blocking layer between the each emission layer for the further confinement of the diffusion of excitons.

  • Global warming is hot issue to keep the earth everlastingly. Despite the increase of the world population and the energy demand, the world oil supply and the oil price are hold the steady state. If we are not decrease the world population and the energy consumption, unforeseeable energy crisis will come in the immediate future. AMT acronym of Advanced Materials for Transportation is a non-profitable IEA-affiliated organization to mitigate the oil consumption and the environment contamination for the transportation. In recent, Annex X Multi-materials Joining was added to enhance the car body weight reduction cause the high fuel efficiency and the low emission of exhaust gas. Multi-materials are the advanced materials application technology to optimize the weight, the performance and the cost with the combination of different materials such as Al-alloy, Mg- alloy, AHSS and CFRP. In this study, the trends of AMT strategy and Al-alloy based multi-materials joining technology were review. Also several technologies for Al-alloy dissimilar joining were investigated.

  • Blending effects for generating a pretilt angle in nematic liquid crystal (NLC) with negative dielectric anisotropy on the blended polyimide (PI) of homeotropic and homogeneous alignment surface were studied. Also, we investigated the EO performances for the advanced VA-$\pi$ cell using this homeotropic blended PI surface. A many decrease of tilt angle on the polymer surface to blend homeotropic PI and homogeneous PI with side chain type was measured, and the tilt angle decreased as blended ratio and rubbing strength increase. The blended effects for generating a pretilt angle were clearly observed, and the many decrease of tilt angle can be achieved by using the blended PI surface. The electro-optical (EO) characteristics using the advanced VA-$\pi$ cell using the homeotropic blended PI surface than that of conventional VA cell can be improved. We suggest that the developed advanced VA-$\pi$ cell on a homeotropic blended PI surface is a promising technique for the achievement of a fast response time, and a high contrast ratio.

  • The study on laser-ablation plasmas has been strongly interested in fundamental aspects of laser-solid interaction and consequent plasma generation. In particular, this plasma has been widely used for the deposition of thin solid films and applied to the semiconductors and insulators. In this paper, we developed and discussed the generation of carbon ablation plasmas emitted by laser radiation on a solid target, graphite. The progress of carbon plasmas by laser-ablation was simulated using Monte-Carlo particle model under the pressures of vacuum, 1 Pa, 10 Pa and 66 Pa. At the results, carbon particles with low energy were deposited on the substrate as the pressure becomes higher. However, there was no difference of deposition distributions of carbon particles on the substrate regardless of the pressure.

  • A pulsed laser ablation deposition (PLAD) technique is an excellent method for the fabrication of amorphous carbon (a-C) films, because it can generate highly energetic carbon clusters on a substrate. This paper was focused on the understanding and analysis of the motion of C particles in laser ablation assisted by Ar plasmas. The simulation has carried out under the pressure P=50 mTorr of Ar plasmas. Two-dimensional hybrid model consisting of fluid and Monte-Carlo models was developed and three kinds of the ablated particles which are carbon atom (C), ion ($C^+$) and electron were considered in the calculation of particle method. The motions of energetic $C^+$ and C deposited upon the substrate were investigated and compared. The interactions between the ablated particles and Ar gas plasmas were discussed.

However, a small decrease of tilt angle on the polymer surface to blend homeotropic PI and homogeneous PI with main chain type was measured. The blended effects for generating a pretilt angle were clearly observed, and the many decrease of tilt angle can be achieved by using the blended PI surface. The electro-optical (EO) characteristics using the advanced VA- $\pi$ cell using the homeotropic blended PI surface than that of conventional VA cell can be improved. • 이중 에피층을 가지는 SOI (Silicon-On-Insulator) RESURF(REduced SURface Field) LIGBT(Lateral Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) 소자의 에피층 두께에 따른 항복전압 특성을 분석하였다.
