간호학 문제중심학습에 기초한 창의성통합교육모형(C-PBL) 개발 및 효과 (Development of Creativity Integrated Problem-Based Learning Model for Nursing Education)

  • Purpose: This study aimed at (a) developing an instructional model of creative thinking education on the problem-based learning method (C-PBL) in undergraduate nursing curriculum at one University, and (b) examining its effect on nursing students' level of creativity and outcomes from problem-based learning. Methods: The C-PBL model was implemented on 43 juniors of the experimental group with a 30 hour-nursing class during one semester. The control group, with 54 seniors, received 4 hours of problem based learning training in an adult nursing class. Pre-and post-tests were done with the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking for creative thinking ability, the Integrated Creativity Instrument for creative motivation and attitudes, the Problem Solving Competency questionnaire, and the Self-Directed Learning Instrument. Results: The C-PBL model was developed using a caring situation scenario to solve nursing problems with 3 training steps of 'encountering a patient in a caring situation', 'exploring nursing knowledge', and 'designing creative caring beyond given knowledge'. Between the experimental group and the control group, there were significant differences in creativity (p<.010), problem-solving ability (p<.010), and self-directed ability (p<.010). Conclusion: This C-PBL method could contribute in increasing creative competency as well as problem-solving ability for nursing students.

역기능 가정 자녀를 위한 독서치료 프로그램에 대한 질적 분석 (A Qualitative Study on Bibliotherapy Program for the Sons and Daughters of the Dysfunctional Family)

  • 이 연구는 역기능 가정에서 성장한 자녀들의 독서치료 경험을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 역기능 가정 자녀인 대학생 6명을 대상으로 이들의 독서치료 경험에 대한 현상학적 분석을 시도하였다. 그 결과, 역기능 가정의 자녀들은 1) 상처에 대한 인식, 2) 공감과 동일시, 3) 통찰과 자기 및 타인에 대한 이해, 4) 상처극복에 대한 의지 및 상처극복을 위한 해답의 발견, 5) 자기변화와 성장, 상처치유를 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 각각의 단계에서 참여자들은 매우 역동적인 사고와 감정을 경험하는 것으로 드러났다. 이를 통해 독서치료 프로그램은 역기능 가정 자녀들의 상처대처와 극복에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

외국 의과대학에서의 성과중심교육과정 개발 (The Development of Outcome-Based Curriculum in Medical Schools Outside Korea)

  • In medicine, rapid changes in information, technology, socio-economic interests, and globalization affect the medical education focused on the competencies of doctors, and the number of medical schools that are adopting an outcome-based curriculum (OBC) is increasing worldwide. This paper introduces the OBC model of 5 trailblazing medical schools from the UK, US, and Australia, comparing their unique features, followed by brief comment about Canada and the EU as well. On developing an OBC, the process of establishing the top outcomes for graduates is similar and the outcomes comprise knowledge, skills, and attitudes about science, patients, colleagues, society, and themselves. Implementing the outcomes down into the sub-levels of the curriculum is much more complicated and time-consuming. Assessing the achievement of every outcome is essential and requires the use of many tools in addition to the traditional written examination. From the perspective of adult learning theory, self-directed learning, team-learning, and individual and flexible achievement are tested and executed in an OBC. The gradual expansion and further innovation of an OBC is expected so that tomorrow's doctors will be able to meet the challenges of the future.

Morphological Development of Egg, Larvae and Juvenile in Korean shinner, Coreoleuciscus splendidus from the Ungcheon-Stream of Korea

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the development of Coreoleuciscus splendidus egg and larvae morphology in the Ungcheon-stream. C. splendidus eggs were round and ranged in size from 1.86-2.01 mm (mean $1.91{\pm}0.14mm$). Immediately after hatching, the larvae had egg yolk in the abdomen with a total length of 5.27-6.63 mm (mean $5.95{\pm}0.96mm$). On the 10 days after hatching, the latter was 8.44-8.65 mm (mean $8.54{\pm}0.14mm$) in total length, and 5 dorsal fin rays were formed in dorsal fin and 8 caudal fin soft rays were formed in caudal fin. At 88 days after hatching, total length was 26.2-25.7 mm (mean $25.9{\pm}0.35mm$), and scales were formed throughout the body. The fin rays of each part were iii.7 in dorsal fin and iii.6 in anal fin, and finally the external form was the same as the adult fish.

  • 피라미의 수정란을 부화 사육하여 난 발생 및 자치어 형태발달을 관찰하였다. 실험어는 2016년 6월 낙동강 수계인 위천에서 어미를 포획하여 인공수정 하였다. 난의 크기는 1.68~1.78 mm (평균${\pm}$SD, $1.73{\pm}0.07mm$, n=30)였고, 부화 시간은 70시간이 소요되었다. 부화 직후 자어는 전장 5.39~5.42 mm ($5.40{\pm}0.02mm$, n=10)였고, 부화 후 8일째 후기 자어는 전장 7.89~7.93 mm ($7.91{\pm}0.02mm$, n=10)로 꼬리지느러미에 10개의 줄기가 형성되었으며, 부화 후 44일째 치어는 전장 16.1~16.5 mm ($16.3{\pm}0.28mm$, n=10)로 각 부위별 지느러미 줄기수가 정수에 달하였다.

의료정보이해능력 (Health Literacy): 한국형 측정도구 개발을 위한 예비연구 (Health Literacy: Development of A Korean Health Literacy Assessment Tool)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to develop a Korean Health Literacy Assessment Tool (KHLAT) and to encourage researchers in the public health education field to look at the concept of health literacy as one of the possible strategies to design and develop more effective health education campaigns in Korea. Methods: Data with 117 sample subjects was collected from various classes such as continuing adult classes and undergraduate classes. REALM, well-known and widely used health literacy tool in the US, was translated and modified for cultural considerations. The Korean modified version of the REALM was administrated to the targeted subjects who were asked to fill the survey questionnaires. Results: The findings appear to be consistent with the OCED reading literacy among Koreans. Health literacy among Korean seems to be more serious problem than we have expected before and this could be a major obstacle to effective health public education campaigns. Conclusions: In order to develop better public health education materials as well as health education programs, it may be critical for us as health educators to inform future physicians as well as practicing physicians of the important link between health literacy and the effective health education(or communication). It is now time for us to make sincere efforts in understanding health literacy one of effective strategies toward improving the public health.

수용전념치료(ACT)프로그램 효과의 메타분석에 대한 융합연구 (A Convergence Study about Meta-Analysis on the Effects of ACT Intervention Program)

  • 이 연구는 메타분석을 활용하여 현재 다양한 영역에서 실시되고 있는 수용전념치료 프로그램의 효과에 대해 종합적으로 평가하였다. 메타분석은 통계적인 방법을 활용하여 개입의 크기와 방향을 제시한다. 이를 통해 개입에 대한 종합적 분석이 가능하다. 논문의 선정기준을 통해 총 43편의 연구물을 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 선정된 33편의 연구물에서 183개의 효과크기를 종합하여 전체효과크기, 하위집단별 효과크기, 메타회귀분석 결과를 제시하였다. 그 결과 수용전념치료 프로그램의 전체 효과크기는 0.704로 나타났다. 이는 중간 이상의 효과크기를 의미한다. 수용전념치료의 효과 영역에 따라 효과크기를 비교한 결과, 정의적 영역, 인지적 영역, 행동적 영역 순으로 효과크기를 나타냈다. 참가자의 특성에 따른 효과크기를 비교한 결과 첫째, 성별에 따른 분석결과, 혼성 집단, 여성 집단, 남성 집단 순으로 효과크기를 나타냈다. 둘째 연령에 따른 분석 결과 일반성인, 대학생(대학원생), 청소년 순이었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 후속연구와 향후 프로그램 운영에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

한국의 간호교육과정 경향과 전망 (The trend of Current Nursing Curriculum in Korea and it's perspectives for the future)

  • This review article provides the trend of current nursing curriculum of todays in Korea and its perspectives. This article reviewed 5 aspects of the current nursing curriculum for the undergraduate program, those are the (1)educational philosophy and believes (2)the nursing concepts revealed in the current nursing curriculum (3)the educational goals and objectives (4)the framework of nursing curriculum (5)the syllabus and credit hours. The common nursing concepts in the current nursing curriculum are Nursing, Human being, Environment/society, Health, Nursing science. The examplary vertical concepts composing of the current nursing curriculum are nursing process, life styles and the horizontal concepts are client, health promotion /recovery /maintenance, leadership, and research. The common subjects composing of the nursing syllabus are the introductory subjects(nursing history, nursing professionalism, foundamental nursing), and the supportive subjects (communication, human relationship, human growth and development, health education, etc) and nursing research, the intrductory basic sciences (anatomy, physiology etc.), and the major nursing subjects (adult nursing, child nursing, maternity nursing, psychiatric nursng, community nursing, nursing administration.) In order to have more advanced nursing education, the suggestions were provided as follows : (1) It is necessary to have revision and evaluation of the process and the structure of the current nursing curriculum periodically. (2) The concept of health promotion for all human being should be integrated into the nursing curriculum. (3) The nursing education program should be unified into baccalauliate level to get one type of nurse-registration system. (4) The nursing courses will need to provide the necessary contemporary Informations to allow the nurses to fuction efficiently in this rapidly changing era. (5) The use of new technology in nursing education is necessary to expand nursing education more.

융복합 블렌디드 러닝 환경에서 간호대학생의 자기주도학습력, 학습동기가 학습만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Self-directed Learning Ability and Motivation on Learning Satisfaction of Nursing Students in Convergence Blended Learning Environment)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 학습효과를 향상시키기 위한 학습전략으로써 블렌디드 러닝을 적용하여 자기주도학습력, 학습동기, 학습만족도와의 상관관계를 확인하고 학습만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 규명하기 위해 시도된 조사연구이다. 연구대상자는 D대학교 성인간호학 수업에 참여하는 학생 140명으로 7주 동안 면대면 수업과 6주 이러닝 수업을 진행한 후 2014년 6월 9일부터 6월 14일까지 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과, 일반적 특성에 따른 변수들의 차이는 없었으며, 학생들의 학습만족도는 자기주도학습력과 유의한 상관관계가 있었다(r=.25, p=.003). 자기주도학습력이 학습만족도에 영향을 미치는 관련 요인으로 설명력은 22.1%로 나타났다(F=20.74, p<.001). 본 연구를 통해 간호대학생의 학습만족도를 향상시키기 위해서는 자기주도학습력을 고려한 블렌디드 러닝 콘텐츠 개발이 요구되고 다양한 블렌디드 러닝 운영방법에 관한 연구가 필요하다고 본다.

Identifying Predictors of Compulsive Hoarding Tendencies in Young Adult Consumers

  • Compulsive hoarding becomes a problem when the spaces hoarded items are stored in become unusable due to clutter, health, or safety issues. Our research purpose was to document relationships between two non-normative consumer behaviors (compulsive hoarding, compulsive buying tendency) and two shopping-related variables: hedonic shopping motives and emotional attachment to possessions with everyday consumers. As hedonic shopping motives have been related to compulsive buying, we predicted these motives (e.g., adventure, gratification, role, value, social, and idea) are related to compulsive buying. We also examined the relationship between compulsive buying and compulsive hoarding tendency and whether emotional attachment to possessions moderated this relationship. Participants were 280 undergraduate and graduate students attending a Midwestern university in the U.S. Regression analysis revealed the enhancing emotion motive (a combined motive of adventure and gratification) positively influenced compulsive buying whereas the value motive negatively influenced compulsive buying. All other hedonic shopping motives were non-significant. Participants who tended to buy compulsively were likely to hoard compulsively. This relationship, however, was moderated by participants' emotional attachment to possessions. Participants with high emotional attachment to possessions showed a higher level of hoarding behavior than those with low emotional attachment to possessions. However, the increase in hoarding tendency among participants with low emotional attachment to possessions was larger between those who were low in compulsive buying and those who were high in compulsive buying than the increase between these two groups among participants with high emotional attachment to possessions.
