  • As the development of Northeast Asian logistics hub becomes one of the national agenda for further development, the sea&Air transport around the Yellow Sea regions has drawn attention of many scholars and government officials. The Sea&air transport is a mode of transportation combining the advantage of high-speed in air transport with the advantage of low-price in sea transport. Hence the sea&air aims at a niche market between air and sea. This paper reviews the possibility of development of the sea&air transport in the aspects of competitiveness over other modes, future demand condition, and the change of the technology and transport environment. The result is that the sea&air is competitive in the aspect of time as well as cost, and sustainable in the aspect of future demand condition. But, it is not stable in the aspect of the conditions of technology or transport demand. Especially, the progress of air transport technology which is aiming at the door-to-door transport among mid- and small- cities, and the rapidly increasing strategic alliances of international airlines with Chinese airlines for the market of China will undermine the stability of the sea&air transport seriously As alternatives, this paper proposes the 3-stage development strategy of sea&air transport. First, at the stage of transshipement, the development of high speed vessels to reduce the time crossing the Yellow Sea and the proactive marketing strategy to induce Chinese-owned products should be emphasized. Second, the value added logistics activity which will secure the demand of the sea&air transport should be developed. Third, demand creation by developing the SCM hub in Incheon is final goal for the logistics hub strategy as well as the sea&air transport.

  • In our study, we evaluated possibility of distillation process introduction for Korean Rubus coreanus balsamic vinegar production development, has a less complicated and more rapid process leading to higher production volumes and cost savings. In order to investigate the applicability of concentrated vinegar fraction (CVF) and distilled vinegar fraction (DVF) obtained from the distillation process as balsamic and distillation vinegar, acidity, pH, and specific gravity (S.G.) were measured for the vinegar fraction obtained from the distillation process. The acidity of final CVF (60% of initial volume) obtained 4 types of vinegar (acidity; 4.42, 4.84, 5.61, and 6.35) were increased mean 38.1%, compared to initial acidities. Especially, acidity and pH of the final CVF was similar to balsamic vinegar. In addition, acidity of DVF also increased and it of the final fraction was 4.41%, 4.95%, 5.88%, and 6.72%, respectively. And it was suggested that the final DVF could be used as distilled vinegar. In this study, it was confirmed that vinegar can be effectively concentrated through the distillation process, and distilled vinegar can be produced at the same time. However, it is thought that the introduction of the distillation process can be decided only after additional biochemical characteristics such as organic acid content and antioxidant activity measurement for each vinegar fraction are analyzed.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how two factors among various affecting factors of technological innovation, i.e. sectoral system of innovation and R&D support service, were actually applied in the case of NUC Electronics. This company has achieved high level of innovation performance through change of injection port and improvement of extracting rate. This was possible because each component of sectoral system of innovation system was matched with the innovation activity. The improvement of the performance in NUC Electronics was attributable to its own innovation efforts and R&D support service of government research institute. In the process of technological innovation, the company could receive high-level services in areas such as product design and virtual experiments that companies can not solve themselves. It can be said that the role of government and public institutions to support the shortage of SMEs was important. In terms of each component of sectoral system of innovation, we found that there were many opportunities of new technology; sustainability was low; imitation was easy; appropriability was low but it has dualily; accumulation of technology was relatively high, availability of external knowledge was high. At the same time, both of the company and the network played an important role, and market conditions were very favorable. In terms of R&D support services, it is a direct effect that a great deal of time and cost savings have been achieved through virtual experiments on the material and shape of the screw. As an indirect effect, the core competence of the company has been greatly strengthened by utilizing the momentum of technology development through external support, hence the company could establish the structure of virtuous circle of innovation.

  • In the last decade, the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a new technology has been applied with traditional Computer-aided design implementations in an increasing number of architecture, engineering, and construction projects and applications. Its employment alongside construction management, can be a valuable tool in helping move these activities and projects forward in a more efficient and time-effective manner. The traditional stakeholders, i.e., Owner, A/E and the Contractor are involved in this BIM system that is used in almost every activity of construction projects, such as design, cost estimate and scheduling. This article extracts major features of the application of BIM from perspective of participating BIM components, along with the different phrases, and applies to them a logistic analysis using a fuzzy performance tree, quantifying these phrases to judge the effectiveness of the BIM techniques employed. That is to say, these fuzzy performance trees with fuzzy logic concepts can properly translate the linguistic rating into numeric expressions, and are thus employed in evaluating the influence of BIM applications as a mathematical process. The rotational fuzzy models are used to represent the membership functions of the performance values and their corresponding weights. Illustrations of the use of this fuzzy BIM performance tree are presented in the study for the uninitiated users. The results of these processes are an evaluation of BIM project performance as highly positive. The quantification of the performance ratings for the individual factors is a significant contributor to this assessment, capable of parsing vernacular language into numerical data for a more accurate and precise use in performance analysis. It is hoped that fuzzy performance trees and fuzzy set analysis can be used as a tool for the quality and risk analysis for other construction techniques in the future. Baldwin's rotational models are used to represent the membership functions of the fuzzy sets. Three scenarios are presented using fuzzy MEAN, AND and OR gates from the lowest to intermediate levels of the tree, and fuzzy SUM gate to relate the intermediate level to the top component of the tree, i.e., BIM application final performance. The use of fuzzy MEAN for lower levels and fuzzy SUM gates to reach the top level suggests the most realistic and accurate results. The methodology (fuzzy performance tree) described in this paper is appropriate to implement in today's construction industry when limited objective data is presented and it is heavily relied on experts' subjective judgment.

  • Owing to increased interest in preventing obesity in an aging society, both men and women spend considerable amount of cost on obesity managements. In this study, we investigated the natural substances on anti-obesity activities in 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes. Also, to improve anti-obesityeffects, research using 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes cells is crucial. The anti-obesity effect of 70% ethanol extract from Torilis Japonica Decandolle on the differentiation of 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes to adipocytes was investigated by suppressing adipocyte differentiation and lipid accumulation with Oil Red O assay, and western blot analysis. Compared to the control, 70% ethanol extract of Torilis Japonica Decandolle was significantly inhibited adipocyte differentiation and intracellular triglyceride (TG) level at a concentration of $100{\mu}g/ml$. To determine the mechanism of reduction in TG content, we determined the level of protein expression of obesity-related proteins, such as peroxisome-proliferatorsactivated-receptor-${\gamma}$ ($PPAR{\gamma}$) and CCAAT enhancer-binding-proteins-${\alpha}$ ($C/EBP{\alpha}$), and Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) phosphorylation. As a results, 70% ethanol extract of Torilis Japonica Decandolle significantly decreased protein expression of $PPAR{\gamma}$, $C/EBP{\alpha}$ and ACC phosphorylation. These results indicate that 70% ethanol extract of Torilis Japonica Decandolle is the most effective candidate for preventing obesity. However further studies will be needed to identify the active compounds that confer the anti-obesity activity of Torilis Japonica Decandolle.

  • Much research has been made for finding new and eco-friendly alternative sources of energy to solve the problems related with the pollution caused by emissions of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide as the use of fossil fuels increases worldwide. Among them, fuel cells draws particular interests as an eco-friendly energy generator because only water is obtained as a by-product. Anion exchange membrane-based alkaline fuel cell (AEMFC) that uses anion exchange membrane as an electrolyte is of increased interest recently because of its advantages in using low-cost metal catalyst unlike the PEMFC (potton exchange membrane fuel cell) due to the high-catalyst activity in alkaline conditions. The main properties required as an anion exchange membrane are high hydroxide conductivity and chemical stability at high pH. Recently we reported a chemically crosslinked poly(2-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (PPO) by reacting PPO with N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl-1,6-hexanediamine as novel anion exchange membranes. In the current work, we further developed the same crosslinked polymer but having enhanced physicochemical properties, including higher conductivity, increased mechanical and dimensional stabilities by using the PPO with a higher molecular weight and also by increasing the crosslinking density. The obtained polymer membrane also showed a good cell performance.

  • The policy-making and technological development for the supply expansion of eco-friendly automobiles has been continuing, but the internal combustion engines still accounts for about 95%. Also, in order to meet the stricter emission regulations of internal combustion engines based on fossil fuels, the proportion of after-treatments for vehicles and (ocean going) vessels is gradually increasing. This study is a basic study for the post-Euro-VI exhaust response of CNG buses, and it is to investigate the basic characteristics according to Pd substitution transition metal effect, catalyst volume effect and space velocity. A catalysts was prepared and tested using a model gas reactor. The NGOC catalyst with 3Pd exhibited the highest catalytic activity with 22% at $300^{\circ}C$, 48% at $350^{\circ}C$ and about 75% at $500^{\circ}C$. 3Co NGOC containing 3wt% of transition metal was excellent in oxidation ability, and it was small in size of 2nm, and the degree of catalyst dispersion was improved and de-NO/CO conversion was high. The volume of the NGOC-LNT-SCR catalyst system was optimal in the combination of 1.5+0.5+0.5 with a total score of 165, considering $de-CH_4/NOx$ performance and catalyst cost. For SV $14,000h^{-1}$, the $CH_4$ reduction performance was the highest at about 20%, while the SV $56,000h^{-1}$ was the lowest at about 5%. If the space velocity is small, the flow velocity decreases and the time remaining in the catalyst volume become long, so that the harmful gas was reduced.

  • This paper introduces a customized Smart Fire and Crime system for one person households. Recently, the number of one person household has skyrocketed due to the increasing number of one person household and the aging population. As a result, the demand for private security companies for one person household is increasing and smart security systems that are applied with rapidly evolving IoT and sensor technologies are also becoming a major issue. However, despite the increasing trend of one person households, the existing system focuses on multiple households, so that there are disadvantages of the one person households to operate in such a big system which operate separately. Therefore, in this paper, we design and implement a system that provides a personalized safety service for one person household that integrates a security system and a fire monitoring system. This will help prevent criminal activity in places where the police can not reach at a lower cost than using existing private companies, and help monitor the situation of the houses in real time.

  • The right to data portability needs to be introduced to strengthen the self-control of data subjects and promote personal data use. However, the right to data portability constitutes a high risk of invasion of privacy of data subjects and may infringe on the property rights of data controllers, so careful and thorough design is warranted. The right to data portability can intensify the concentration and monopoly of personal data, result in problems of overseas transfer of personal data held by public institutions, and enrich only the profits of giant platforms by burdening the data subject with high transfer cost. By contrast, SMEs are more likely to endure a personal data deprivation. From the proposed amendment to the Personal Data Protection Act are raised various legal issues such as. i) Whether to include inferred/derived data, personal data held by public institutions, activity data, sensitive data, and personal data of third parties within the scope of data portability; ii) whether SMEs are included in the data porting organization; iii) whether to exclude SMEs or large platforms from the scope of the data receiving organization; iv) Whether to allow the right to transmit to other data controllers, v) Whether to allow the overseas transfer of personal data held by public institutions, vi) How to safely exercise the right to data portability, vii) the scope of responsibility and immunity of a data porting organization, etc. The purpose of this paper is to propose the direction for legislative action based on various legal issues related to data portability.
