Association rule discovery is a method of mining for the associated item set on large databases based on support and confidence threshold. The discovered association rules can be applied to the marketing pattern analysis in E-commerce, large shopping mall and so on. The association rule discovery makes multiple scan over the database storing large transaction data, thus, the algorithm requiring very high overhead might not be useful in real-time association rule discovery in dynamic environment. Therefore this paper proposes an active candidate set management model based on trigger and incremental update mechanism to overcome non-realtime limitation of association rule discovery. In order to implement the proposed model, we not only describe an implementation model for incremental updating operation, but also evaluate the performance characteristics of this model through the experiment.

We present, for the first time, a prototype active-matrix field emission display (AMFED) in which an amorphous silicon thin-film transistor (a-Si TFT) and a molybdenum-tip field emitter array (Mo-tip FEA) were monolithically integrated on a glass substrate for a novel active-matrix cathode (AMC) plate. The fabricated AMFED showed good display images with a low-voltage scan and data signals irrespective of a high voltage for field emissions. We introduced a light shield layer of metal into our AMC to reduce the photo leakage and back channel currents of the a-Si TFT. We designed the light shield to act as a focusing grid to focus emitted electron beams from the AMC onto the corresponding anode pixel. The thin film depositions in the a-Si TFTs were performed at a high temperature of above 360°C to guarantee the vacuum packaging of the AMC and anode plates. We also developed a novel wet etching process for $n^+-doped$ a-Si etching with high etch selectivity to intrinsic a-Si and used it in the fabrication of an inverted stagger TFT with a very thin active layer. The developed a-Si TFTs performed well enough to be used as control devices for AMCs. The gate bias of the a-Si TFTs well controlled the field emission currents of the AMC plates. The AMFED with these AMC plates showed low-voltage matrix addressing, good stability and reliability of field emission, and good light emissions from the anode plate with phosphors.
Purpose: Hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) is an infiltrative disease of eosinophils affecting multiple organs including the iung. F-18 2-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (F-18 FDG) may accumulate at sites of inflammation or injection, making interpretation of whole body PET scan difficult in patients with cancer. This study was to evaluate the PET findings of HES with lung involvement and to find out differential PET features between lung malignancy and HES with lung involvement. Material and Methods: F-18 FDG PET and low dose chest CT scan was performed for screening of lung cancer. light patients who showed ground-glass attenuation (GGA) and consolidation on chest CT scan with peripheral blood eosinophilia werr included in this study. The patients with history of parasite infection, allergy and collagen vascular disease were excluded. CT features and FDG PET findings were meticulously evaluated for the distribution of GGA and consolidation and nodules on CT scan and mean and maximal SUV of abnormalities depicted on F-18 FDG PET scan. In eight patients, follow-up chest CT scan and FDG PET scan were done one or two weeks after initial study. Results: F-18 FDG PET scan identified metabolically active lesions in seven out of eight patients. Maximal SUV was ranged from 2.8 to 10.6 and mean SUV was ranged from 2.2 to 7.2. Remaining one patient had maximal SUV of 1.3. On follow-up FDG PET scan taken on from one to four weeks later showed decreased degree of initially noted FDG uptakes or migration of previously noted abnormal FDG uptakes. Conclusions: Lung involvement in the HES might be identified as abnormal uptake foci on FDG PET scan mimicking lung cancer. Follow-up FDG PET and CT scan for the identification of migration or resolution of abnormalities and decrement of SUV would be of help for the differentiation between lung cancer and HES with lung involvement.
Baikdu-san was a very active volcano during the Cenozoic era and is believed to be formed in late Cenozoic era. Recently it was also reported that there was a major eruption in or around 1002 A.D. and there are evidences which indicate that it is still an active volcano and a potential volcanic hazard. Remote sensing techniques have been widely used to monitor various natural hazards, including volcanic hazards. However, during an active volcanic eruption, volcanic ash can basically cover the sky and often blocks the solar radiation preventing any use of optical sensors. Synthetic aperture radar(SAR) is an ideal tool to monitor the volcanic activities and lava flows, because the wavelength of the microwave signal is considerably longer that the average volcanic ash particle size. In this study we have utilized several sets of SAR data to evaluate the utility of the space-borne SAR system. The data sets include JERS-1(L-band) SAR, and RADARSAT(C-band) data which included both standard mode and the ScanSAR mode data sets. We also utilized several sets of auxiliary data such as local geological maps and JERS-1 OPS data. The routine preprocessing and image processing steps were applied to these data sets before any attempts of classifying and mapping surface geological features. Although we computed sigma nought ($\sigma$$^{0}$) values far the standard mode RADARSAT data, the utility of sigma nought image was minimal in this study. Application of various types of classification algorithms to identify and map several stages of volcanic flows was not very successful. Although this research is still in progress, the following preliminary conclusions could be made: (1) sigma nought (RADARSAT standard mode data) and DN (JERS-1 SAR and RADARSAT ScanSAR data) have limited usefulness for distinguishing early basalt lava flows from late trachyte flows or later trachyte flows from the old basement granitic rocks around Baikdu-san volcano, (2) surface geological structure features such as several faults and volcanic lava flow channels can easily be identified and mapped, and (3) routine application of unsupervised classification methods cannot be used for mapping any types of surface lava flow patterns.

Purpose: One of the current services, providing information to the patients and their guardians by using promotion materials induces positive responses and contributes to the improvement of the hospital reliability. Therefore, the objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of audio visual materials, one of the means of promotion, as a way to give accurate medical information to resolve patient's curiosity about purpose and procedure of their examination and deplete complains about waiting which attributes negative effect to service quality assessment. Materials and Methods: 60 patients(mean age $53.97{\pm}12.24$, male : female = 26 : 34) who had $^{18}F-FDG PET/CT$ scan from July 2012 to August 2012 in Seoul Asan Medical Center were referred to the study. All of the patients having PET/CT scan were asked to watch an informative video material before the injection of radiopharmaceutical ($^{18}F-FDG$) and to fill in a questionnaire. Results: As a result of analyzing the contents of questionnaire, 52% of 60 patients had PET/CT scan for the first time and 72.4% of the patients read the PET/CT guidebook offered from their outpatient department or inpatient wards before their scan. After we searched the level of previous knowledge of the purpose and method of PET/CT scan, the patients answered 25.1% "know well", 34% "not sure", 40.9% "don't know" respectively. And 84.7% of the patients answered that watching the PET/CT guide video before the injection helps understanding what exam they were having and 15.3% of the patients did not. For the question asking ever the patients have experienced using our homepage or smart phone QR code to see the guide video before they visit out PET center, only 3.3% of them answered "yes". Lastly, the patients answered 60.1% "yes", 31.4% "so so" and 8.5% "no" respectively for the question asking whether watching the video makes the patients to fill the waiting time short. Conclusion: It is found that understanding of objective and method of the PET/CT scan and level of satisfaction was improved after the patients watched the guide video whether they had PET/CT scan before and read the PET/CT guidebook or not. Also, watching the video was effective for the reduction of perceptible waiting time. But while displaying the PET/CT guide video is useful for providing information about the scan and shortening the waiting time as one of the medical service, utilization of service was actually very poor because of the passive promotion and indifference of the patients about their examination. Therefore, from now on, it is necessary to construct the healthcare system which can be offered to more patients through the active promotion.
About 20% of intestinal tuberculosis have active pulmonary tuberculosis. Intestinal tuberculosis can develop by swallowing sputum which have active pulmonary tuberculosis and by ingestion of contagious milk. We report a case of intestinal tuberculosis complicated with pulmonary tuberculosis in a 15-year old aldelescent who could not cough out sputum because of known cerebral palsy. He was admitted because of 3 day history of fever and bloody stool. Chest PA showed both upper lobe consolidation. AFB stain and AFB PCR was positive for tuberculosis. Colon study showed abscence of haustral marking and lead pipe appearance due to stenosis of ascending colon and mucosal edema. Abdominal CT scan showed mild wall thickening in ascending colon. Despite the anti-tuberculosis therapy with first line drugs, fever accompanying pleural effusion developed. Second line drug with Isoniazid and Rifampin improved clinical manifestation. After the report on sensitivity, we readjusted the regimen, and clinical manifestations improved gradually.

Obstacle detection is a key feature in the safe driving control of electric wheelchairs. The suggested obstacle detection algorithm was designed to provide obstacle avoidance direction and detect the existence of cliffs. By means of this information, the wheelchair can determine where to steer and whether to stop or go. A 3D depth camera (Microsoft KINECT) is used to scan the 3D point data of the scene, extract information on obstacles, and produce a steering direction for obstacle avoidance. To be specific, ground detection is applied to extract the obstacle candidates from the scanned data and the candidates are projected onto a 2D map. The 2D map provides discretized information of the extracted obstacles to decide on the avoidance direction (left or right) of the wheelchair. As an additional function, cliff detection is developed. By defining the "cliffband," the ratio of the predefined band area and the detected area within the band area, the cliff detection algorithm can decide if a cliff is in front of the wheelchair. Vehicle tests were carried out by applying the algorithm to the electric wheelchair. Additionally, detailed functions of obstacle detection, such as providing avoidance direction and detecting the existence of cliffs, were demonstrated.

We developed a new ANGLED display driving method which used both amplitude and pulse width modulation. For pulse width modulation, we divided a picture frame time into S sub-frames. For amplitude modulation, we used three OLED luminance(or current) levels which were controlled by TFT's gate voltages. By combining these two modulation methods, we obtained 35(=243) grey levels. And we designed a new data electrode driving circuit block with two shift registers without using DAC's. To verify the feasibility, we simulated the key circuit components by HSpice with TFT parameters extracted from current-voltage characteristics of 6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ channel length polysilicon TFT's. From the simulation results, we found that 320${\times}$240, dual scan, 243 grey level AMOLED display can be designed with this method.

A dual-band dual-polarized microstrip antenna array for an advanced multi-function radio function concept (AMRFC) radar application operating at S and X-bands is proposed. Two stacked planar arrays with three different thin substrates (RT/Duroid 5880 substrates with $\varepsilon_r$=2.2 and three different thicknesses of 0.253 mm, 0.508 mm and 0.762 mm) are integrated to provide simultaneous operation at S band (3~3.3 GHz) and X band (9~11 GHz). To allow similar scan ranges for both bands, the S-band elements are selected as perforated patches to enable the placement of the X-band elements within them. Square patches are used as the radiating elements for the X-band. Good agreement exists between the simulated and the measured results. The measured impedance bandwidth (VSWR$\leq$2) of the prototype array reaches 9.5 % and 25 % for the S- and X-bands, respectively. The measured isolation between the two orthogonal polarizations for both bands is better than 15 dB. The measured cross-polarization level is ${\leq}-21$ dB for the S-band and ${\leq}-20$ dB for the X-band.
