Acid Texturing에 의한 다결정 실리콘 태양전지의 표면 반사율 감소에 대한 연구 (Investigation of Surface Reflectance Reduction for Multicrystalline Silicon Solar Cells with Acid Texturing)

  • To improve efficiency of solar cells, it is important to make a light trapping structure to reduce surface reflectance for increasing absorption of sun light within the solar cells. One of the promising methods that can reduce surface reflectance is isotropic texturing with acid solution based on hydrofluoric acid(HF), nitric acid($HNO_3$), and organic additives. Anisotropic texturing with alkali solution is not suitable for multicrystalline silicon wafers because of its different grain orientation. Isotropic texturing with acid solution can uniformly etch multicrystalline silicon wafers unrelated with grain orientation, so we can get low surface reflectance. In this paper, the acid texturing solution is made up of only HF and $HNO_3$ for easy controling the concentration and low cost compared to acid solution with organic additives. $HNO_3$ concentration and dipping time were varied to find the condition of minimum surface reflectance. Textured surfaces were observed Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and surface reflectance were measured. The best result of arithmetic mean(wavelength from 400nm to 1000nm) reflectance with acid texturing is 4.64% less than alkali texturing.

L-Ascorbic Acid-2-Phosphate Mg염의 합성 및 응용

  • Purely synthesized L-ascorbic acid 2 phosphate Mg salt (1 AsA PMg) improved the weak point of ascorbic acid which is easily decomposed in water solution. This compound is hydrolyzed with phosphatase of skin to corresponding ascorbic acid giving Vitamine C activities. The buffer solution of potassium acetate 0.5% and citric acid 0.005% and the sodium sulfite respectively showed good stabilizing effect of the AsA PMg solution. Compared to the other ascorbic acid derivatives the good solubility of AsA PMg gives broad application to cosmetic field.

Characteristics of Organic Acid Contents and Fermentation Solution of Prunus mume in South Korea

  • This study was carried out to get the information of Plum tree (192 germplasm) collected in Korea, and to evaluate the organic acid contents and fermentation solution. The organic acid content of fruit was 50.9 ± 6.0 mg/g, and which was composed of 55.5% of citric acid, 43.4% of malic acid and 1.1% of oxalic acid, and showed large difference among germplasms. Oxalic acid and malic acid made no differences in organic acid content according to flesh color, whereas citric acid and total organic acid contents were highest in orange color and lowest in whitish green. Malic acid, citric acid and total organic acid contents did not show differences among fruit weight groups, but oxalic acid content was highest at fruit weight of 5.1 ~ 10.0 g and lowest at more than 20.1 g. The sugar content of fermentation solution of fruit was 55.7 ± 1.6 °Brix and the harvest rate was 116.7 ± 8.7%. The correlation coefficients among fruit weight, the sugar content (°Brix) and harvest rate of fermentation solution were very low, and there were correlations of r=-0.551⁎⁎ between fruit weight and oxalic acid, r=-0.767⁎⁎ between malic acid and citric acid, and r=0.834⁎⁎ between citric acid and total organic acid content.

테레프탈산 제조공정 중의 유기불순물 분석 (Analysis of Organic Impurities in Terephthalic Acid Manufacturing Process)

  • 파라자일렌(p-xylene)을 산화반응시켜 테레프탈산(terephthatic acid)을 제조하는 과정 중에 발생하는 주요 유기불순물을 효과적으로 분석하는 방법을 수립하였다. 이 제조공정 중에 발생하는 유기불순물은 매우 다양하나, 여기에서는 주로 benzoic acid, p-toluic acid, p-tolualdehyde, 4-carboxybenzaldehyde, phthalic acid, isophthalic acid, trimellitic acid와 4-hydroxymethyl benzoic acid 등의 유기불순물을 분석하는데 촛점을 맞추었다. 이 유기물들은 공정 중의 모액이나 고체상태의 테레프탈산 입자에 존재하는데, 이들을 동시에 분석하기 위해 99% bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide와 1% trimethylchlorosilane의 내부표준용액과 pyridine의 혼합용액내에서 trimethylsilylation으로 시료를 전처리하고 gas chromatography를 이용하여 분석한 결과 상기한 유기물이 모두 성공적으로 분리되어 50분 이내에 정량분석할 수 있었다.

Dissolution Characteristics of Copper Oxide in Gas-liquid Hybrid Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Reactor Using Organic Acid Solution

  • In this study, a gas-liquid hybrid atmospheric pressure plasma reactor of the dielectric barrier discharge method was fabricated and characterized. The solubility of copper oxide in the organic acid solution was increased when argon having a larger atomic weight than helium was used during plasma discharge. There was no significant effect of mixing organic acid solutions under plasma discharge treatment on the variation of copper oxide's solubility. As the applied voltage for plasma discharge and the concentration of the organic acid solution increased, the dissolution and removal power of the copper oxide layer increased. Solubility of copper oxide was more affected by the concentration in organic acid solution rather than the variation of plasma applied voltage. The usefulness of hybrid plasma reactor for the surface cleaning process was confirmed.

  • In the present study, we successfully developed an eco-friendly chemical etching solution and proper condition for plating on ABS material. The mechanism of forming Ni plating layer on ABS substrate is known as following. In general, the etching solution used for the etching process is a solution of chromic acid and sulfuric acid. The etching solution is given to the surface resulting in elution of butadiene group, so-called anchor effect. Such a rough surface can easily adsorb catalyst resulting in the increase of adhesion between ABS substrate and Ni plating layer. However a use of chromic acid is harmful to environment. It is, therefore, essential to develop a new alternative solution. In the present study, we proposed an eco-friendly etching solution composed of potassium permanganate, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. This solution was testified to observe the surface microstructure and the pore size of electrical Ni plating layer, and the adhesive correlation between deposited layers fabricated by electro Ni plating was confirmed. The result of the present study, the newly developed, eco-friendly etching solution, which is a mixture of potassium permanganate 25 g/L, sulfuric acid 650ml/L and phosphoric acid 250ml/L, has a similar etching effect and adhesion property, compared with the commercially used chromium acid solution in the condition at $70^{\circ}C$ for 5 min.

Influence of Acetic Acid Solution on Heat Stability of L-Ascorbic Acid

  • This study investigated the heat stability of L-ascorbic acid (AA) in acetic acid solution. To analyze the degradation of AA using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), AA was measured at a wavelength of 244 nm in acetic acid and 265 nm in distilled water. During the storage of AA in acetic acid or distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$, degradation of AA was slower in acetic acid than in distilled water. On examining various ratios of AA to acetic acid, the stability of AA at $100^{\circ}C$ for 30 min was the highest when the concentration of acetic acid was 10 times higher than the concentration of AA. After acetic acid was added into AA degraded by heating, the AA is stabilized by reheating. Ultimately, these results indicate that degraded AA is reduced by hydrogen ions dissociated from acetic acid, and the rate of reduction of degraded AA in acetic acid solution is improved with heat processing.

Stimulation of γ-Aminobutyric Acid Synthesis Activity in Brown Rice by a Chitosan/Glutamic Acid Germination Solution and Calcium/Calmodulin

  • Changes in the concentrations of $\gamma$-aminobutyric acid (GABA), soluble calcium ions, glutamic acid, and the activity of glutamate decarboxylase (GAD) were investigated in non-germinated vs. germinated brown rice. Brown rice was germinated for 72 h by applying each of the following solutions: (1) distilled water, (2) 5 mM lactic acid, (3) 50 ppm chitosan in 5 mM lactic acid, (4) 5 mM glutamic acid, and (5) 50 ppm chitosan in 5 mM glutamic acid. GABA concentrations were enhanced in all of the germinated brown rice when compared to the non-germinated brown rice. The GABA concentration was highest in the chitosan/glutamic acid that germinated brown rice at 2,011 nmol/g fresh weight, which was 13 times higher than the GABA concentration in the non-germinated brown rice at 154 nmol/g fresh weight. The concentrations of glutamic acid were significantly decreased in all of the germinated rice, regardless of the germination solution. Soluble calcium and GAD were higher in the germinated brown rice with the chitosan/glutamic acid solution when compared to the rice that was germinated in the other solutions. GAD that was partially purified from germinated brown rice was stimulated about 3.6-fold by the addition of calmodulin in the presence of calcium. These data show that the germination of brown rice in a chitosan/glutamic acid solution can significantly increase GABA synthesis activity and the concentration of GABA.

  • 스테인레스강의 산세공정에서 사용하는 질산으로 인한 환경문제를 해결하기 위하여 질산을 포함하지 않는 새로운 산세용액을 개발하고자 하였다. 산세용액의 반복 사용 시의 산세성능과 모재의 침식 정도를 기준으로 연구한 결과, 산 1%, 불산 및 과산화수소 각 2% 의 조성을 갖는 용액이 기존의 질산-불산 용액과 유사한 수준의 우수한 산세특성을 나타내었다. 또한 산세능을 유지하기 위해서는 염산 대비 과산화수소의 비율을 0.5 이상 유지해야 하는 것으로 나타났다.

Humic Acid Removal from Water by Iron-coated Sand: A Column Experiment

  • Column experiments were performed in this study to investigate humic acid adhesion to iron oxide-coated sand (ICS) under different experimental conditions including influent humic acid concentration, flow rate, solution pH, and ionic strength/composition. Breakthrough curves of humic acid were obtained by monitoring effluents, and then column capacity for humic acid adsorption ($C_cap$), total adsorption percent (R), and mass of humic acid adsorbed per unit mass of filter media ($q_a$) were quantified from these curves. Results showed that humic acid adhesion was about seven times higher in ICS than in quartz sand at given experimental conditions. This indicates that humic acid removal can be enhanced through the surface charge modification of quartz sand with iron oxide coating. The adhesion of humic acid in ICS was influenced by influent humic acid concentration. $C_cap$ and $q_a$ increased while R decreased with increasing influent humic acid concentration in ICS column. However, the influence of flow rate was not eminent in our experimental conditions. The humic acid adhesion was enhanced with increasing salt concentration of solution. $C_cap$, $q_a$ and R increased in ICS column with increasing salt concentration. On the adhesion of humic acid, the impact of CaCl2 was greater than that of NaCl. Also, the humic acid adhesion to ICS decreased with increasing solution pH. $C_cap$, $q_a$ and R decreased with increasing solution pH. This study demonstrates that humic acid concentration, salt concentration/composition, and solution pH should be controlled carefully in order to improve the ICS column performance for humic acid removal from water.
