Encapsulating 1-octen-3-ol with alginates solution, the effects of physical properties (viscosity, emulsion activity, emulsion stability) of alginates solutin on the retention of 1-octen-3-ol in capsules were investigated. Only alginates solutions haying less than 350 cP in viscosity were capable to be adopted to spray dry. Adding citric acid to alginates solution in order to reduce its viscosity, the concentration of citric acid became higher, the viscosity of alginates solution were lower. Adding $0.1\% of citric acid could reduce viscosity of alginates solution to 150 cP. The viscosity of alginates solution after emulsifying showed higher value than that of solution before emulsifying, but its viscosity were within the possible ranges for spray drying. The lower viscosity of alginates solution were, EAI became higher but ESI and amount of remaining 1-octen-3-ol in capsules were lower, In reducing the viscosity of alginates solutions, heating time after adding citric acid were longer, the their viscosity became lower. Differences of viscosity of alginates solution after and before emulsifying were little, In encapsulating raw pine agaric with alginates solution, the adding amount of soybean oil increased, the amounts of remaining 1-octen-3-ol in capsules increased. After freeze drying the amount of remaining 1-octen-3-ol in alginates capsules prepared with raw pine agaric was higher than that after cold air flow drying.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the acid neutralizing capacity and to observe surface changes of giomer in comparison with composite resin, when it comes in contact with an acidic solution. A packable giomer(Beautifil II) and a flowable giomer(Beautifil Flow F02) were used as experimental groups, while a packable composite resin($Filtek^{TM}$ Z-250) was used as control group. pH values were measured after mixing the specimens of the disc and powder types with a pH 2.0 hydrochloric acid solution, respectively. Also, in the case of powder type giomers used in the earlier experiment, their pH values were measured again after mixing them with a fresh acid solution. Moreover, surface structure changes of disc type specimens were observed by using a scanning electron microscopy(SEM). In the disc type test, the pH values of packable giomer were significantly increased after 24 hours(p < 0.05). In contrast, in the powder type test, the pH values of packable and flowable giomers were dramatically increased within 30 minutes. The pH value of packable giomer, in particular, was higer than that of flowable giomer(p < 0.05). In the repeated neutralizing test, the degree of pH variation was lower than that of the previous neutralizing test(p < 0.05). Erosive changes on the surface of packable giomer were observed to be more than those on composite resin and flowable giomer as well. In conclusion, giomer has a acid neutralizing capacity, when it comes in contact with an acidic solution. Especially, packable giomer with high filler content has a greater acid neutralizing capacity than flowable giomer.
In this study, semi-aqueous solutions containing carboxylic acids such as oxalic acid (OA), lactic acid (LA) and citric acid (CA) were formulated for the removal of copper etching residues produced at the interconnection process, and their characteristics were analyzed. Carboxylic acids in the solutions were apt to form various copper complexes according to the value of pH. Semi-aqueous solution containing 10 wt% CA showed the lowest etching rate of copper in the range from pH2 to pH7 and the highest selectivity in the range of pH 2 to pH 4. However, the cleaning solution containing 10 wt% LA revealed the superior selectivity at the range from pH 5 to pH 7. Appropriate selection of carboxylic acid should be required to improve the performance of cleaning solution. In the case of CA, the etching selectivity of copper oxide complex to copper was increased with the concentration of CA in the solution, when the solutions contain over 5 wt% CA, the copper interconnection layer has a metallic copper surface more than 88% in the area. The result shows that CA contained semi-aqueous solution has a relatively good cleaning ability.
This studies concern the separation of aqueous boric acid solution and same solution containing silica using cellulose acetate RO S/W 4040 module manufactured by Hydranautics Co. The operating conditions of the applied pressures, temperatures, and feed flow rate are also investigated to characterize the permeabilities, biroc acid recovery, and silica rejection, so that the optimum operating conditions would be found out. In the case where the operating conditions are the temperature 35$^{\circ}$C, The pressure 20atm, and the feed flow rate 2.82 l/min, for the boric acid aqueous solution, the boric acid recovery 58.7% and the permeation rate 2.82 l/min were obtained. And also the results showed the boric acid recovery 68.1% and the permeation rate 1.56 l/min at the operating conditions, 35$^{\circ}$C and 10atm. For the boric acid solution containing silica, when the feed solution are at the conditions of 35$^{\circ}$C and 3.2atm, the boric acid recovery 69.7%, the silica rejection 97.5% and the permeation rate 0.47 l/min were obtained. And the operating conditions were at 35$^{\circ}$C, 20atm and the feed flow rate 2.92 l/min, the results showed the boric acid recovery 56.4%, the silica rejection 96.1% and the permeation rate 2.72 l/min.
The silk fabrics were treated with color solution extracted from leaf of Camellia. The depression effect of destruction and yellowing of silk treated with color solution, shift of UV-VIS spectra of color solution, color difference of silk fabrics by dyeing with acid dyes and drycleaning fastness of silk treated with color solution were studied. UV-VIS spectra appeared to hypsochromic shift by irradiation. The decrease of tensile strength and the elongation of the silk treated with color solution showed depressed but those of untreated silk increased by irradiation. The yellowness index of silk treated with color solution showed a little change by irradiation. The color difference after dyeing with several acid dyes on treated and untreated silk showed not remarkable changes. Dsrycleaning fastness of silk treated by color solution was excellent.
For the purpose of standardization and practicability of dyeing by natural dyes, the mordanting and dyeing properties of cochineal and carminic acid were studied. Appropriate extraction, dyeing and mordanting condition of cochineal were determined, and the effect of mordanting method on dye uptake and color fastness of dyed fabric was investigated. The maximum absorbance of cochineal solution was 495nm, carminic acid was 533nm and 577nm. The color of carminic acid solution was affected by pH 6~9. The optimum temperature to extract cochineal was $80-100^\circ{C}$ and dyeing solution for 1 hour. And effective dyeing time to silk was 60min. Effective mordanting temperature was $80^\circ{C}$, and its time was 30min. In case mordants concentration, the maximum absorbance of Sn solution was 3%, K, Cu and Cr were in 1%. K/S value of dyeing fabrics was recoginazed by mordant treatment, specially Fe, Sn, Al, Cu. In the case of cochineal light fastness was increased by mordant treatment, specially Fe treatment. Perspiration fastness was good in acidic solution than in alkaline solution and perspiration fastness of cochineal was poor. Fastness of abrasion and dry-cleaning were good and these fastness improvement were generally effective for post-mordanting treatment.
Ion exchange experiments of molybdenum(VI) from strong HCl and $H_2SO_4$ solution have been done to investigate the existence of anionic complexes. The concentration of HCl and $H_2SO_4$was changed from 1 to 9 M. From the data on the complex formation of molybdenum in aqueous solution, a new distribution diagram of Mo(VI) was constructed in the pH range from zero to 10. AG 1 X-8, an anion exchange resin, and Diphonix, a cation exchange resin were used in the loading experiments. Ion exchange results indicate that anionic complexes of Mo(VI) begins to form from 3 M HCl and 1 M $H_2SO_4$ solution and the tendency to form anionic complexes is stronger in HCl than in $H_2SO_4$ solution. Our results can be utilized in the analysis of Mo(VI) in strong acid solution and in the design of a process to separate Mo(VI).

The effect of solution acidity and organic additives, polyethylene glycol (PEG), on the trivalent chromium electroplating was systematically investigated in the view point of solution stability, electroreduction of trivalent chromium ions and characterization of deposition layer. It was found that, the concentration of fraction chromium complexes in the trivalent chromium bath containing formic acid is strongly depended on pH value. PEG molecules were stable in trivalent chromium bath containing formic acid via studies on electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) and UV-Vis. However, the presence of PEG molecules decreased the reductive current of hydrogen evolution, increasing of current efficiency higher about 10 % compared with solutions without PEG. Moreover, PEG additives developed the nodular morphology during electroreduction of trivalent chromium ions with the increase of solution acidity and enhanced its current efficiency by maintaining the consumption of complexant, formic acid, at a low speed. In this study, the effect of solution acidity was emphasized important, there, it controlled the formation of complexes in the solution, cathodic film (CF) during deposition, and properties of deposited layer. By electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM), studies show that chromium electrodeposition occurs via the formation of intermediate complexes and adsorption on the cathode surface, which hinder the penetration of ions from bulk solution to the cathode surface.
The effect of different compositions of organic acids on the flavor profile of 10% sugar solution was investigated by the response surface methodology, and the results were used to evaluate the flavor characteristics of lactic acid fermented cereal beverages. A mixture of extruded rice flour (10%) and soymilk (7.8% dry matter) was fermented with Leuconostoc mesenteroides (Sikhae). Depending on the substrate pretreatments, for example, the malt or amylase digestion and the proteolytic enzyme hydrolysis, the sugar and organic acid composition of the product varied. The organic acid composition of the fermented beverages was in the ranges of 0.44-0.55% lactic acid, 0.05-0.09% acetic acid and 0.07-0.09% citric acid, while that of commercial apple juice was 1.59% malic acid and 0.49% acetic acid. The flavor profiles of fermented beverages added with 10% sucrose were compared to those of apple juice and a model mixture containing 0.48% citric acid, 0.39% lactic acid and 0.12% acetic acid in 10% sugar solution. The QDA diagram of fermented beverages approached to that of apple juice, when the substrate was digested by amylase but not by protease.
Effect of aluminum dissolution from aluminum sauce pans with the kind and concentration of acidity, boiling times and temperature of acidity solution, in new and old sauce pans, and aluminum content in typical food was investigated. As acetic acid concentration increases, aluminum content has increased. But malic acid and citric acid have suddenly increased until acidity concentration would be 0.4%. After that rapidly increasing is not shown. As boiling time and temperature of acidity solution increases, concentration of aluminum dissolved from aluminum sauce pan has increased. Concentration of aluminum by repeated use has increased only a slightly. But aluminum content has dissolved in large quantities from new pan rather than old pan.
