Purpose: This article provides step-stress accelerated degradation test (ADT) plans based on the Wiener process. Method: Step-stress levels and the stress change times are determined based on the D-optimality criteria to develop test plans. Further, a simple grid search method is provided for obtaining the optimal test plan. Results: Based on the solution procedure, ADT plans which include the stress levels and change times are developed for conducting the reliability test. Conclusion: Optimal step-stress ADT plans are provided for the case where the number of measurements is small.
This paper is concerned about an Accelerated Life Test for Micro Display Device which is being used in a Projection TV, in order to find a failure mode occurred in field in a short time, to identify a major factor to affect a life, and to estimate a mean life. For this purpose, we selected a temperature as a accelerated factor to perform a test and measured degradation of display device using visual inspection and chromaticity table. In the result of Accelerated Life Test, it is confirmed that failure mode is equal to the degradation of display device by vendor and the Temperature is a major factor to affect a failure. Besides, according as the display device is turned to green as degraded, it is identified that the change of the chromaticity value is one method to measure the degree of the degradation . So, we applied the optimal condition, which consider a cost and life to lower the Temperature which is a major factor acquired by the result of ALT, to PTV design

The insulation performance of the insulation currently used in building structures is reflected only during design based on initial performance and the reduction in heat insulation performance due to the degradation of long-term durability is not reflected. This study reviewed the degradation of heat insulation performance due to the durability degradation of insulating materials through the accelerated durability test. The study findings showed that the foamed polystyrene insulation bead method did not show performance degradation due to aging in the standard environmental condition and laboratory accelerated test condition but the performance is degraded in the freeze-thaw test condition. On the other hand, in the case of the extrusion method, the degradation of the heat insulation performance was less in the freeze-thaw test condition, but the rapid performance degradation was caused by the release of the internal gas at the beginning of aging. In addition, the hard polyurethane foam insulation showed better initial insulation performance than other insulation materials, but the performance was found to be degraded somewhat under laboratory accelerated test conditions and freeze-thaw test conditions.
The present paper is a study on the tracking characteristics depending on accelerated degradation of PVC insulation material. In order to insulation degradation of PVC insulation material, the Arrhenius equation, a type of accelerated degradation test formula, was used to conduct accelerated degradation experiments with experiment samples prepared at the following age equivalents: 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 years. Afterwards, a tracking experiment was conducted on the accelerated experiment samples as part of the KS C IEC 60112 criteria. When measuring the PVC tracking features according to the accelerated aging, the results showed that when 0.1% of ammonium chloride was added to the PVC insulating material, but no tracking occurred. However, depending on the age equivalent, The results of analyzing the current waveform and voltage waveform of the tracking propagation process showed the age equivalent from 0 years to 40 years displayed a break down in insulation resistance and even the BDB(before dielectric breakdown) sections did not maintain the same functionality of the original material. Based on a criterion of an age equivalent of 0 years, material with an age equivalent of 10 years posed a 1.4 times greater risk, material with an age equivalent of 20 years posed a 2 times greater risk, material with an age equivalent of 30 years posed a 4.6 times greater risk, and material with an age equivalent of 40 years posed a 7 times greater risk.

Renewable energy has become more popular with the increase in the use of solar power. Consequently, the disposal of defective and old solar panels is gradually increasing giving rise to a new problem. Furthermore, the efficiency and power output decreases with aging. Researchers worldwide are engaged in solving this problem by developing eco-module technologies that restore and reuse the solar panels according to the defect types rather than simple disposal. The eco-module technology not only solves the environmental problem, but also has economic advantages, such as extending the module life. Replacement of encapsulants contributes to a major portion of the module maintenance plan, as the degradation of encapsulants accounts for 60% of the problems found in modules over the past years. However, the current International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard testing was designed for the commercialization of solar modules. As the problem caused by long-term use is not considered, this method is not suitable for the quality assurance evaluation of the eco-module. Therefore, to design a new accelerated test, this paper provides an overview of EVA degradation and comparison with the IEC and accelerated tests.
Accelerated degradation mechanism of the heat-resistant steel for high temperature plant was analysed in terms of microstructure and hardness. In order to simulate the microstructure of the steel actually used at $540^{\circ}C$ in the field, isothermal exposure was carried out at $630^{\circ}C$ up to 4,800 hours. The artificial degradation mechanism was comparatively verified to successfully simulate degradation of the long-time used field material. For the artificially degraded specimens, databases including size and aspect ratio of carbide, chemical composition (i.e., Cr/Mo ratio) of grain boundary carbide were built up. These degradation parameters were suggested as fingerprints for PHM (i.e., prognostics health management) of power plants.
Purpose : UHMWPE (Ultra-high-molecular-weight-polyethylene) is one of the most widely used material in knife protection clothes because of high strength, elasticity, and light weight. The purpose of this study is to develop the accelerated life test method and predict the lifetime for the knife protection fabric composed by UHMWPE. Methods : In this study, degradation characteristics of UHMWPE fibers and knife protection fabric for cut resistance were evaluated under the hydrolysis and photo-degradation conditions. It was found out that the degradation rate of retained tensile strength was more significant in the photo-degradation than hydrolysis. Therefore, the failure time was determined as the time that the retained tensile strength in photo-degradation is less than 50%. Considering an acceleration factor for irradiance and exposure time, the lifetime was predicted from the calculated failure time. Results : As a result of the accelerated life test, the $B_{10}$ lifetime of knife protection fabric composed by UHMWPE fibers is estimated as 2.8 years for a 90% statistical confidence level. Conclusion: Since the lifetime is predicted by the view-point of radiant exposure in this study, there is a possibility that the estimated lifetime may differ from the actual lifetime. However, it is considered as an useful methodology to estimate the long-term lifetime of knife protection fabrics.

Nano-Varistors fabricated with ZnO 30nm and 80nm powders were studied about the electrical characteristics with AC accelerated degradation in this paper Especially, ZnO nano-powder varistors were sintered m air at $1050^{\circ}C$ and analyzed the phenomenons of before and after AC degradation test. The stress conditions of AC degradation test were $1.0V_{1mA}$$115{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ for 24h. 80nm-varistor was exhibited better performance than 30nm-varistor m the electrical stabilities. And then 80nm-varistor resulted m the degradation characteristics that the variation rate of operating voltage, nonlinear coefficient and leakage current was -0 3%, -0 4% and -3 3%, respectively.

Estimating reliability of a non-repairable system using the degradation data, variance assumption such as homogeneity (constant) or heteroscedasticity (time-variant) could affect accuracy of reliability estimation. This paper showed reliability estimation and comparison results under normal conditions using accelerated degradation data obtained from destructive measurements, according to variance assumption of the data at each measurement time. Degradation data from three accelerated conditions with stress factors of temperature and humidity were used to estimate reliability. The $B_{10}$ lifetime was estimated as 1243.8 years by constant variance assumption, and 18.9 years by time-variant variance. And variance assumption provided different analysis results of important stresses to reliability. Thus, accurate assumption of variance at each measurement time is required when estimating reliability using degradation data of a non-repairable system.
We have performed accelerated photo-degradation test using a 10-Sun level high irradiance $Weather-Ometer^{(R)}$ (10-Sun Ci5000) in an attempt to study acceleration and correlation between accelerated and service conditions for ink-jet ink. The accelerated test was used to predict lifetimes of ink-jet ink through the calculation of scaling factor for intensity of irradiance and duration of usage combined with estimation of lifetime distribution and inverse power model as a life-stress model. The lifetimes and acceleration factors for foreign and domestic inks were compared with each other. The results showed that the failure mechanisms and life-stress models for ink-jet ink were different among the color of ink which means that we might be in need of further study by color of inks.
