  • This study aimed to empirically analyze the factors influencing the career search intention of college students. The research model was derived based on the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), considering the unique characteristics of university students. Self-efficacy and outcome expectations were investigated as independent variables, while mastery experience, verbal persuasion, vicarious learning, and positive emotions were considered as antecedent variables. A survey was conducted among college students in the metropolitan area, resulting in 217 valid responses for analysis. Empirical analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling with AMOS 24. The findings revealed that mastery experience, vicarious learning, and positive emotions had a significant positive effect on self-efficacy. Furthermore, verbal persuasion and positive emotions significantly influenced outcome expectations. However, the impact of verbal persuasion on self-efficacy was not found to be significant, and the relationship between mastery experience, vicarious learning, and outcome expectations was not examined. Both self-efficacy and outcome expectations were found to have a significant positive effect on career search intention, with outcome expectations exhibiting a stronger influence. The empirical results contribute to the understanding of college students' career exploration and provide implications for academic and practical contexts.

  • The study explores how academic strain, unhappiness, and mobile phone dependency among adolescents have changed over time. And we conducted the longitudinal and complex analysis on the influence of academic strain on unhappiness and mobile phone dependency in order to search the ways to prevent a vicious circle among them. We used general strain theory as a conceptual research frame and analysed the data of 1,589 respondents of the 2nd~4th Korean Children and Youth Panel with latent growth modeling. It was found that the levels of academic strain, unhappiness, and mobile phone dependency among adolescents were linearly increased across time. Academic strain initial status positively affected unhappiness initial status and both the initial status and change rate of mobile phone dependency. The change rate of unhappiness positively affected that of mobile phone dependency. Academic strain change rate positively influenced that of mobile phone dependency mediated by unhappiness change rate. We provided useful implications to academic activities, negative emotions, and mobile phone dependency for adolescents and suggested future studies about reasons of the changes of those variables.

The 'scholarly contents acquisition and use' category has to do with difficulties that these experience when negotiating with internet sites with poor web accessibility and full-text availability. The 'changes in perception and emotions' category deals with transitions in perception and mood experienced by visually impaired academic researchers' over time. • This study was conducted to examine the academic stress, menstrual attitude, and dysmenorrhea of adolescents and to understand their effects on dysmenorrhea. The subjects of the study were high school girls and 131 people who agreed to participate in the study were analyzed. Correlation analysis shows that the more negative the person is about menstruation, the more severe the physical symptoms, the more active the action, and the greater the emotional change, the more severe the person experienced dysmenorrhea. Factors affecting dysmenorrhea in adolescents were physical symptoms and positive acceptance among menstrual attitudes, and 68.8 percent explained the variable. In conclusion, considering the positive acceptance of menstruation and physical symptoms of adolescents, it is necessary to develop educational programs that provide integrated knowledge to manage dysmenorrhea in school health, and further individual and multidimensional approaches such as emotional support programs for negatively experienced emotions.

  • The 'education panic' is one of the most phenomenal social issue in the current Korean society. The explanations of it until now, however, are rather superficial in a way that they only describe apparent facts and its seriousness, rendering further examination of the psychological motivation of parents who are the protagonist of education panic necessary. With 548 elementary, middle, and highschool students and their parents, the present study has investigated the impact of parents' past experience of 'han', regret, and learning effect regarding education on their parenting style as well as on their children's academic experience. The result revealed that parents' learning effect was related with more affective/autonomous parenting style and reasonable expectation for their children's educational career. On the contrary, parents' 'han' and regret indicated relationship with hostile and controlling parenting style and also with blind intention toward their children's educational career. The negative emotions also seemed to increase their children's academic stress, and lower academic self-efficacy. Such results suggest that the extraordinary education panic in Korea is more than a simple quantitative matter of intensity. The psychological basis and motivation of the people included, a much more quantitative information, should be taken into account.

  • This study examines the structural relationship between parents' positive parenting attitudes, negative parenting attitudes, emotional problems, and academic helplessness. To this end, the data of 2,590 first-year middle school students in the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 were used to understand the structural relationship between variables. For this study, the correlation between variables was examined with SPSS 21.0, and the structural relationship between variables was identified with AMOS 21.0. The research results are as follows. First, it was found that the positive parenting attitude and negative parenting attitude of parents had a significant effect on academic helplessness. Second, parents' positive and negative parenting attitudes had a significant effect on emotional problems. Third, emotional problems had a significant positive effect on academic ability. Fourth, emotional problems were partially mediated between parents' positive parenting attitudes, negative parenting attitudes, and academic helplessness. In other words, the emotions of adolescents affected by their parents' parenting attitudes affect their learning. Through this study, it is meaningful to confirm that emotional problems can be treated as factors that influence studies, not simply limited to factors influenced by other factors.
