  • In this paper, a static var compensator using PWM Cuk AC-AC converter is presented. The PWM Cuk AC-AC converter is modelled by using complex circuit DQ transformation whereby the basic condition to be used as a var compensator is derived and the static characteristic equations such as input current and reactive power is analytically obtained. Finally, the PSIM simulations show the validity of the modelling and analysis.

  • In this paper, a new scheme of current programmed control for three phase PWM AC-AC converter is presented. By considering only the magnitude components, a similar scheme in the DC-DC converter can be extended to the three phase PWM AC-AC converter. The proposed current programmed control will be well adopted into various converter topologies though three phase PWM AC-AC boost converter is treated as an example. The converter analysis is carried out by applying the vector DQ transformation to obtain physical insight into the converter operation. Finally, the experiment result shows the validity of the proposed scheme.

  • This paper presents novel single-phase PWM AC-AC converters that can solve commutation problem in single-phase direct AC-AC converter without sensing input voltage polarity. By using the basic switching cell concept and coupled inductor, the proposed converter can be short and open-circuit without damping switching devices. A 120 W prototype is built and tested to verify performance of the proposed converter.

Finally, the converter system is implemented with the design criteria and the experimental results show the validity of modelling and analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는 Buck type의 단상 AC/AC 초퍼를 이용한 단상 voltage sag compensator를 제안한다. 제안된 회로는 sag보상 동작 시 사용된 변압기의 누설리액턴스가 단상 PWM Buck AC/AC converter에 미치는 영향이 작아 동작효율이 높고, sag가 발생하지 않는 상태일 때 입력과 출력이 절연되는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 회로의 동작 및 특성을 설명하고, 타당성을 입증하기 위해 PSIM으로 시뮬레이션 하였다.
