  • This study emphasizes the necessity of implementing political supports for artists and suggests several details to develop related industries. For these objectives this study analyzes the trend in related researches and overhauls the aid system. It then comes up with results about how artists are aware of the supporting system by conducting a survey of 140 artists. The result of summarize as follows. First, most of the artists have severely limited access to government-funded or private aid programs. This signals the urgency of establishing an integrated portal site since the artists aren't evenly offered the information they need. Along with this, artists should note that the main purpose of this portal site is focused on providing information related to livelihoods. Secondly, the analysis shows the lack of infrastructure for supporting artists. Both governmental and private sectors should take charge of establishing art consulting agencies which can bring efforts to improve rights and interests of many artists via a number of channels. Supporting artists also presents its necessity about solving social problems besides the one suggested by previous studies. This study has its significance by implying the actual perspectives of artists while most of the related studies are rather theoretical.

  • This paper examines William and Ellen Craft's Running a Thousand Miles for Freedom (1860)-a narrative of the enslaved couple's escape from Macon to Philadelphia in the guise of a white male master and a colored slave. Expanding Judith Adler's notion of "travel as performed art," my reading of Running focuses on the Crafts' stratagems of transvestism-crossing boundaries not only of gender, but also of race, class, and disability. If travel can be understood as a form of performed art, then why not address a traveler as a performance artist? I present William and Ellen's role-playing in Running as performers of crossing borders and categories, or, as "fugitive performers," since the couple's story never reaches its final arrival but narrates an eternal run-away, far more than "a thousand miles to freedom." Using social stereotypes of race and gender to disguise, William and Ellen plot, write, choreograph, play, and recite on the moving stages and manipulate the others-especially white American audiences-who accompany the couple's run-away and those who were responsible for the cultural drama-a tragedy of American slavery. Becoming "fugitive performers," William and Ellen de-essentialize and debunk the nineteenth-century America's firm belief in distinct color line between black and white, and in the high yet unstable bars between male / female, abled / disabled, master / slave, and freedom / slavery. The Crafts alert their contemporaries and readers by presenting the complex and permeable boundaries of race, gender, class, social and cultural ability.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the plan reflecting the place in cultural regeneration was implemented and whether it was a change of place in culture through culture analyze. Mullae-dong has changed its urban structure into a textile factory, a manufacturing industry, an ironworks+artistic complex, and the Mullae art factory has been organizing a festival that has been created by artists and residents alike in the Mullae creative village. However, prior to the creation of the Mullae art factory in the social element, self-sustaining programs of Mullae creative villages were derived, but now commercial space is mainly derived. Therefore, it is necessary to plan for coexistence of ironworks, cultural space and commercial space rather than expanding into commercial space. Geumcheon-gu Geumcheon-gu Geumcheon Art Factory has become an integrated complex where various industries coexist in industrial complex. Geumcheon Art Factory also holds an artist support program every year and actively works as an international creative exchange center in Seoul. However, programs that act as a mediator are not implemented since 2014, and the Open Studio stops once a year. Therefore, Geumcheon-gu needs to expand programs that can include local programs and programs that can be combined with local cultural media.

  • This study focuses on the characters and spacial expressions from the film , one of the representative works of the Coen brothers. The esoteric narrative of the film could be analyzed by understanding the symbolic expressions present throughout the film. The unrealistic characters, spaces, and props that appear along with the main character contain a symbolic meaning and adhere to the artist's worldview. These expressions contribute to creating a unique world for the Coen brothers and significantly impacted later films. Coen brothers' other films and , similarly display the unrecognizable world that coexists with the real world and the powerful presence that dominates it within the world. This study examines the use of symbolic characters and spacial expressions shown in the representative works of the Coen brothers.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the collaboration and artification of the Issey Miyake fashion brand and to suggest the best course of artification that can secure the brand's value. The research methods are as follows: i) identifying the companies' strategy and flow through collaboration concepts and examples from Issey Miyake; ii) selecting Issey Miyake fashion brands and carrying out a literature review through websites, articles, and books; and iii) examining prior studies on the relationship between fashion and art. Results are as follows. The exhibition is divided into spaces for brand intangible assets, artistic collaboration with partners, art co-creation, and the aesthetics and tradition of the brand. Using exhibitions to share the artistic work of collaboration partners is expected to positively affect the brand's likability. The exhibit shares art collaborations in display cases for clothes and photographs. Artists and brands appear as an extension of the creative space and convergence design area. The artist's improvisation forms the creative space that communicates with the audience, and the convergence design area is expanded through the unifying organic connection between the various media in the fashion brand. The photographers and brands section displays the nature images of Pleats Please, as well as human and prism garment images. In these images, the viewer can perceive a story in the interplay between the human body and nature.

  • Art strategies have been addressing the problem of volume growth caused by changes in the distribution environment of luxury brands. Art is a universal language that transcends borders and communicates across cultures, therefore, artification acts as a strategy for the globalization of luxury brands. This study aims to study how contemporary luxury brands communicate their artifacts strategically through branded products via artification. As a research method, a literature review and case studies were combined. The cases of artification range from the 2000s to the present, and the top 100 brands in the luxury category of Millward Brown were selected. Drawing on the characteristics of artification defined in this study we analyzed the cases of articulation of luxury brands. As a result, first, appropriation of art in the product frame is carried out by borrowing ideas from renowned works or artists. Second, as an experimental attempt, it is effective to associate the international reputation of an artist with a product through a reinterpretation of the product. Third, as an artistic creation for the brand narrative, luxury products are sublimated into artwork and idealized.

  • There is a problem that unknown paintings are sophisticated in the level of forgery, making it difficult for even experts to determine whether they are genuine or counterfeit. These problems can be suspected of forgery even if the genuine product is submitted, which can lead to a decline in the value of the work and the artist. To address these issues, in this paper, we propose a system to classify chromaticity data among extracted data through objective analysis into quadrants, extracting comparisons and intersections, and estimating authors of unknown paintings using XRF and hyperspectral spectrum data from corresponding points.
