Recently, excessive installations of APs have caused WLAN interference, and many techniques have been suggested to solve this problem. The AP aggregation technique serves to reduce active APs by moving station connections to a certain AP. Since this technique forcibly moves station connections, the transmission performance of some stations may deteriorate. The AP transmit power control technique may cause station disconnection or deterioration of transmission performance when power is reduced under a certain level. The combination of these two techniques can reduce interference through AP aggregation and narrow the range of interferences further through detailed power adjustment. However, simply combining these techniques may decrease the probability of power adjustment after aggregation and increase station disconnections upon power control. As a result, improvement in performance may be insignificant. Hence, this study suggests a scheme to combine the AP aggregation and the AP transmit power control techniques in OpenFlow-based WLAN to ameliorate the disadvantages of each technique and to reduce interferences efficiently by performing aggregation for the purpose of increasing the probability of adjusting transmission power. Simulations reveal that the average transmission delay of the suggested scheme is reduced by as much as 12.8% compared to the aggregation scheme and by as much as 18.1% compared to the power control scheme. The packet loss rate due to interference is reduced by as much as 24.9% compared to the aggregation scheme and by as much as 46.7% compared to the power control scheme. In addition, the aggregation scheme and the power control scheme decrease the throughput of several stations as a side effect, but our scheme increases the total data throughput without decreasing the throughput of each station.

A smart phone and the number of wireless terminals are mobile-to the nature of the AP mobility are many call transfer between wireless terminals and AP (Access Point). Each wireless terminal that is the call processing process for each is relatively large to cause the wireless traffic, and a factor that inhibits the efficient use of the radio band on the AP. In this paper, we use the power intensity threshold and threshold timer of the AP received by the mobile station to reduce the amount of switching traffic between the AP's cause and traffic generation factors between the wireless device and the AP that can effectively utilize the radio traffic from the AP the measures proposed. The proposed method and the conventional method is improved by simulation to handle the amount of radio traffic from the AP it was confirmed that it is possible to effectively utilize the whole of the radio band.

Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) is a standardized protocol by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for the Internet of things (IoT). IoT devices have limited computation power, memory, and connectivity capabilities. One of the significant problems in IoT networks is congestion control. The CoAP standard has an exponential backoff congestion control mechanism, which may not be adequate for all IoT applications. Each IoT application would have different characteristics, requiring a novel algorithm to handle congestion in the IoT network. Unnecessary retransmissions, and packet collisions, caused due to lossy links and higher packet error rates, lead to congestion in the IoT network. This paper presents an adaptive congestion control protocol for CoAP, Adaptive Congestion Control with a Backoff algorithm (ACCB). AACB is an extension to our earlier protocol AdCoCoA. The proposed algorithm estimates RTT, RTTVAR, and RTO using dynamic factors instead of fixed values. Also, the backoff mechanism has dynamic factors to estimate the RTO value on retransmissions. This dynamic adaptation helps to improve CoAP performance and reduce retransmissions. The results show ACCB has significantly higher goodput (49.5%, 436.5%, 312.7%), packet delivery ratio (10.1%, 56%, 23.3%), and transmission rate (37.7%, 265%, 175.3%); compare to CoAP, CoCoA+ and AdCoCoA respectively in linear scenario. The results show ACCB has significantly higher goodput (60.5%, 482%,202.1%), packet delivery ratio (7.6%, 60.6%, 26%), and transmission rate (40.9%, 284%, 146.45%); compare to CoAP, CoCoA+ and AdCoCoA respectively in random walk scenario. ACCB has similar retransmission index compare to CoAp, CoCoA+ and AdCoCoA respectively in both the scenarios.

In IEEE 802.11b wireless network, stations synchronize themselves to the beacons periodically sent by the access point (AP) when they are running in low power mode. Stations stay awake for enough time to receive beacon because it is delayed in AP if the wireless channel has been being used by other traffic at each scheduled instant. In this paper, we propose a method that measures the delay of received beacons and calculates wake-up interval of station to receive the next one. Beacon transmission delay at the AP is analyzed. The proposed method is simulated and its characteristics are described in the analysis. The result measured in terms of station's wake-up interval shows some enhancement in energy consumption.
BEE 802.11 Wireless LAN protocol uses fixed transmission power. It does not consider a power control mechanism based on the distance between the transmitter and the receiver in order to improve overall channel utilization. In home environment, where stations generally lie around an AP, the AP is subject to use transmission power more than it needs. And wireless LAN stations may require different minimal desired received power. If there are many adjacent BSSs in densely populated WLAN area, they might cause RF interference to one another. In this paper we focus on the improvement of aggregate utilization by mitigating RF interference among BSSs. We show that RF interference by APs can be reduced by controlling transmission power using Link Margin information. The reduced interference will then lead to the increased aggregate throughput which is efficient resource utilization.
As the power system develops rapidly into a smarter and more flexible state, so must the communication technologies that support it. Machine to machine (M2M) communication in Smart Grid environment has been discussed in European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). The power system is not easily replaceable, due to system replacement cost. The M2M gateway is required in other to improve interoperability in M2M environment. The Distributed Network Protocol 3.0 (DNP3.0) is the most important standard in the SCADA systems for the power. It has been used for device data collection/control in Substation Systems, Distribution Automation System. If the DNP3.0 data model is combined with a set of contemporary web protocols, it can result in a major shift. We selected Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) based on RESTful as M2M protocol. It is a specialized web transfer protocol for use with constrained nodes and constrained networks. We have used the OPNET Modeler 17.1 in order to verity the SOAP versus CoAP. In this paper, we propose the CoAP-based M2M Gateway to Distribution Automation system using DNP3.0 in Smart Grid Environment.
The design of nuclear control room is advancing toward totally computer based human system interfaces (HSI). Computer based interfaces offer the opportunity to provide improved support of operator performance, but if not properly deployed, can introduce new challenges. This paper reviews the Westinghouse AP-600 Human Factors Verification and Validation Plan selected for HSI evaluation model of Korea next generation nuclear control rooms. The AP-600 HSI evaluation model addressed 15 evaluation issues considering major activity class of operator and task complexity factors. This paper also describes the test procedures experimenters should follow to evaluate the addressed issues.

In the traditional wireless LAN model, scan procedure to search a new AP starts when the predefined number of Rx failure of beacon frames are occurred. In this case, lots of data packet loss occur during MN's handover because loss of the relatively longer data packet starts before the small-sized beacon loss. Newly developed scanning mechanism in this paper has the beacon counter that increases when the Rx power level of beacon frame is less than the threshold and the previous rx power level. New scan procedure starts when the counter exceeds the predefined number. Beacon Rx power threshold is verified and performance of the new WLAN model is evaluated under UDP and TCP traffic environment.
As the Internet of Thing(IoT) technology recently has become a big issue, many researches have been carried out to link the Internet of things with the home network system. Various home network systems are being implemented to connect many devices used in the home with the Internet and to control and operate the devices using a smart phone. However, existing protocols that operate on the Internet are not suitable for a limited environment such as low power, low capacity, and low performance. Therefore, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Working Group proposed the CoAP/6LoWPAN technology as a suitable protocol for internetworking IoT devices with the Internet in a limited environment and adopting it as a standard. In this paper, a smart home network system is implemented to control and operate various IoT devices in a home using CoAP/6LoWPAN in mobile environment. The performance of HTTP and CoAP such as data transmission time, data transmission rate is analyzed.
The purposes of this study were to test the effects of the low power laser and exercise on the recovery in the cerebellar injured rats by 3-Acetylpyridine. Cerebellar injury was induced by 3-Acetylpyridine chemoablation of the inferior olive. Thirty Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned to the normal control and 3AP control and 3 experimental groups.
