  • Unlike OLEDs, there is no lifetime testing procedure for TFTs. In this work, we have defined such a procedure and developed a method for the accelerated stress testing of TFT pixel circuits in a-Si AMOLED displays. The acceleration factors derived are based on high current and temperature stress, and can be used to significantly reduce the testing time required to guarantee a 20000-hour display backplane lifespan.

  • A simple voltage compensation pixel circuit for AMOLED is produced using low temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) technology. Its operation is verified by AIM-SPICE. Simulation results show that the pixel circuit has high immunity to variation of LTPS-TFT and reduces the drop in luminance due to the degradation of the OLED.

  • The inline manufacturing equipment using a combination of the belt source and LPS source which is innovatively designed is introduced for the largesize AMOLED. The features of the inline system include 60sec TACT time, 19 numbers of chambers, non-substrate bending and easy application to very thin TFT substrates for the $4^{th}$ - $8^{th}$ Generation AMOLEDs.

  • We proposed dual mode pixel circuit in AMOLED (active matrix organic light emitting device). After light emitting period of OLED, we used it as a photo sensor. We measured photo current of OLED and simulated the proposed pixel circuit to verify it's function of dual mode, that is lighting and sensing.

  • Nanocrystalline silicon (nc-Si) based TFTs were developed using a conventional PECVD production system. Devices exhibit very interesting characteristics, in particular when using a bi-layer structure which reduces leakage current and improves subthreshold area. Good stability and low leakage current make these devices suitable for the fabrication of low-cost and high performance AMOLED displays.

  • A modified Time-Ratio Gray Scale AMOLED drive technique is described in which the frame period is split into two half-frames, each of which is divided into binary weighted sub-frames and driven in the conventional time-ratio manner. The proposed technique improves aperture ratio by reducing TFT sizes in pixel circuits.

  • The AMOLED industry must compete with AMLCD displays by standardizing around scaleable technology platforms that deliver display-performance and manufacturing-cost goals. Kodak White OLED device rchitectures have the potential to achieve the best performance and cost tradeoffs. Here we describe the building blocks necessary for delivering effective AMOLED mass production technologies.
