Dynamic Characteristics of the Control Valve for LRE using Speed Control Methode (속도제어기법을 이용한 로켓엔진 제어밸브의 동특성)

  • Dynamic characteristics of a control valve, which plays an important role in thrust control of liquid rocket engines, have been analysed by AMESim simulator modeling. A speed control method has been proposed for the control of the valve equipped with a BLDC motor and the performances of this control method have been proved in making a comparison between the predictions of simulation and experimental results. Moreover, it is shown that a control valve with a second pre-filter is enough stable to the flow disturbances. The speed control method for BLDC motor is more simpler than PI gain scheduling method for the application in complex flow system.

  • Flow rate control is the uppermost concern for a trochoid hydraulic pump. Cavitation within the flow field of the pump has the greatest effect on the flow control during high-speed pump rotation of approximately 3500~4000 RPM. In this paper, based on AMESim$^{(R)}$ and Solid Works$^{(R)}$, we will present a method to simulate cavitation by analyzing the control factors of a trochoid pump, including the hydraulic pressure change at the outlet, flow rate based on the rotation speed of the inner rotor, leakage through the gap between the outer and inner rotors, and discharging angle of the outlet. The proposed methodology of the [cavitation simulation will enable field engineers to more easily design trochoid pumps, and will allow more concrete control over the flow rate of the pump by realizing an analysis model similar to the actual product model.

  • Electro-hydraulic power steering (EHPS) system is the power-assisted steering which operates the hydraulic pump by BLDC motors for assisting the steering force. EHPS consists of BLDC motor, gear pump, oil-hydraulic circuit and steering system. Since EHPS is a convergence system consisting of electricity and electronic, hydraulic and mechanical system, it is difficult to establish the simulation model. In this paper, the mathematical model of EHPS system components were presented, and the simulations of the multi-domain system were performed by using AMESim. The trial and error of development would be reduced by using this simulation results, and it would be helpful for developing high-quality EHPS.

  • The goal of this study was to develop control algorithms to improve the steering performance of a 120-ton all-terrain crane. To accomplish this, a hydraulic steering system for the crane was modeled using AMESim software, and a PID steering control algorithm was designed in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. The performance of the designed controller was verified through multiphysics co-simulations based on a real-time simulator.

  • By the reason of increased demand of high productivity, the researches on manufacturing process and equipments for reducing cycle time have been made in many directions of a machine tool industries. Especially high productivity is very important to machining center with high-speed spindle. This paper proposed method of reducing T-T(tool to tool) time which results in shorter unclamping time. T-T time varies as factors such as a hydraulic system, a drawbar mass, a flow meter, a disc spring, piston and pipe diameters. In this paper We could find design factors has much influence on decreasing the unclamping time using DOE(Design of Experiment) and optimized the level of the factors using AMESim $4.0^{(R)}$ and visualNastran $4D^{(R)}$ Finally, we have verified improved result of the optimized factors with initial design.

  • Solenoid valve has used in various industrial field extensively. A solenoid valve has different size, shape and method of operation accordantly to industrial field. Many researchers study on kinds of solenoid valve such as flow rate, dynamic, magnetic field, valve shape and operating method. But the flow rate characteristic and dynamic response time performance on the diaphragm valve are not studied. This paper describes the flow rate characteristic and dynamic response time performance on the diaphragm valve. At first, the diaphragm valve is simulated in AMESim simulation tool. AMESim model found that an effect of valve performance depends on parameter. The parameter is the diaphragm orifice area. And the performance test bench confirms the effect in this parameter. Finally, it finds out the flow rate characteristic and dynamic response time performance on the diaphragm valve.

  • Recently, R&D demand for environmental friendly vehicle has rapidly increased due to its global environmental issues such as global warming, energy and economic crisis. Under this situation, the most realistic alternative way for environmental friendly vehicle is a clean diesel vehicle. The common-rail fuel injection system, as key technology of clean diesel vehicle, consists of a high pressure pump, common-rail, high pressure fuel line and electronic control injector. In common-rail high-pressure fuel injection system, high pressure wave of injection system and geometry of injector elements have a major effects on high-pressure fuel spray. Therefore, in this study, the numerical model was developed for analysis about the common-rail fuel pressure pulsation by using AMESim code. We could secure stability of common-rail high-pressure fuel injection system through optimal design of fuel line.

A Study on Dynamic Valve Characteristics of Regulators in Hydraulic Winches According to Design Parameters (선박용 유압윈치용 레귤레이터의 설계 파라미터 변화에 따른 밸브 거동 특성 연구)

  • Maritime deck machinery relies heavily on the importation of components produced by overseas companies. Our research defines design parameters for hydraulic winch regulators used in maritime deck machinery. Using Amesim, we were able to conduct 1D modeling, and utilizing CFS then enabled us to create 3D models. These models were analyzed in our research for changes in pressure on each port that resulted from the regulator's spring constant and changes in the primary tension-compression field. Our research then analyzed alterations in traits caused by changes in the length of overlap between the spool and sleeve. Last but not least, our research analyzed the trait alteration resulting from changing the interval between the spool and sleeve. We believe the results of our research can be used to design a hydraulic winch regulator used in maritime deck machinery that does not require importation.
