This study was to investigate the learning motive types and degree of psychological well-being of middle-aged married women attending the Korea National Open University and to examine the difference in their psychological well-being according to the types of learning motives. For these purposes, a survey was conducted to 263 middle-aged married women from 36 to 60 at the Korea National Open University. The findings were as follows: First, learning motive types of middle-aged women could be classified into 3 types; a non-oriented type, an activity and goal-oriented type and a multi-oriented type. A multi-oriented types were the most popular among those. Second, the overall level of self-respect was above the median, but the life satisfaction level was below the median. Third, there was difference in their self-respect level according to the learning motive types. That is, students who had a multi-oriented learning motive were higher self-respect level than those who had an activity and goal-oriented learning motive. Therefore, lifelong education is very significance in these days when average life span is prolonged.

If one is looking for an organization that will be responsive to community needs, stimulate economic growth, and raise people's income, cooperatives should be an obvious choice (Calkins & Ngo, 2005; Larocque et al., 2002). This paper investigates whether the households' income is affected by the access to cooperatives for the case of Phong Dien district, Can Tho city of Vietnam. Data used are directly collected from 250 households that are both participating (120 observations) and not participating in the cooperatives in Truong Long, Tan Thoi, Nhon Ai and Nhon Nghia communes. By using the Probit model, the findings show that there are three statistically significant factors affecting the ability of farm households to participate in the cooperatives at the 1 percent level including land area, distance to market center, and education level. In addition, the PSM model analysis suggests that the average income of cooperative members is significantly higher than that of non-members, about 40.880 million VND/year at the significance level of 1 percent. The empirical results imply that being a cooperative member is a significant contributory factor toward an increase in household income. Based on the research findings, several recommendations to improve the households' income are proposed.
For smart defense innovation, the key is to apply state-of-the-art technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to national defense. In order to apply state-of-the-art technology to the defense sector, we need to apply and develop technologies to analyze and respond to uncertain future operational environments. To this end, our military is investing a lot of time and effort. To understand future operational environment analysis and to apply and develop our military, we explored the perspectives of operational environment analysis in major countries and studied specific cases of U.S. troops with systematic analysis functions. The U.S. Army has established a cooperative system to analyze future operational environment under the leadership of the Education Command and operates the organization organically. It also utilizes the collective intelligence of expert groups in various fields by utilizing the MSC, and it is time for the Korean military to take the lead in keeping with the era of transformation. To that end, the organization of the U.S. Education Command should be benchmarked and the Korean Future Operation Environment Analysis Organization should be established and operated. Through this study, we have developed an understanding of the future operational environment analysis system of the U.S. Army and presented a plan to apply the ROK MND.
This study compares the functions of the Learning Management Systems (LMS) in three widely used Edu-Tech platforms, that support students' individualized learning by using the learning characteristics of the students. The rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are broadening their impacts in the education industry, and play a broad role in supporting student learning. In many countries, online classes have become a norm due to the COVID-19 crisis, and the demand for Edu-Tech in classes has increased rapidly. As a result, many countries, including South Korea, are now preparing and implementing various policy measures to adopt Edu-Tech in the class setting. Therefore, in this study, we analyze and compare the structures and characteristics of the three widely used Edu-Tech platforms that support individualized mathematics learning. In particular, we compare the LMSs of the three platforms by considering the elements such as learning design, learning management, learner analysis, learning result analysis, and student management functions. The results of this study give implications in the future directions to take on how to build Edu-Tech platform models that promote students' individualized mathematics learning in public education.
In this paper, we present our new teaching and learning materials on gradient descent method, which is widely used in artificial intelligence, available for college mathematics. These materials provide a good explanation of gradient descent method at the level of college calculus, and the presented SageMath code can help students to solve minimization problems easily. And we introduce how to solve least squares problem using gradient descent method. This study can be helpful to instructors who teach various college-level mathematics subjects such as calculus, engineering mathematics, numerical analysis, and applied mathematics.
This study analyzed the relationship between GPS-based physical activity patterns and mental health using Kaggle Student Life data. Data were collected over a 10-week period from 48 students at Dartmouth College through Android smartphones and included GPS, dark, and phone lock data, and measures such as the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), Loneliness Scale, the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), and Perceived Stress Scale. Using latitude and longitude data obtained from GPS measurements, various physical activity indicators were calculated, including the total distance traveled, average distance traveled, average distance traveled in the morning, average distance traveled in the afternoon, average distance traveled in the evening, and average distance traveled in the middle of the night. Pearson's correlation analysis was performed to explore the relationship between GPS-based physical activity patterns and mental health. The study results indicated a significant negative correlation between the average distance traveled in the afternoon and PHQ-9 scores. Results indicated that the higher the afternoon activity, the lower the depressive symptoms. There was a positive correlation be-tween the PANAS-Pos score and the average distance traveled in the evening, indicating that positive emotions tended to increase as evening activities increased. This finding suggests a relationship between physical activity at specific times and mental health.

The appearance of education is also rapidly changing in social changes represented by social networks. And the development of information and communication technology is also having a widespread effect on the education field. In the era of untact caused by Covid-19, education through smart learning is having a greater effect on students as well as adult learners more quickly and broadly. In addition, smart learning is not just limited to learning content, but is developing into personalized, convergence, and intelligent. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors of ARCS motivation theory that can determine the learning motivation of smart learning users, and to empirically study the casual relationship between these factors on education achievement through practical value and hedonic value. Specifically, I would like to examine how the independent variables ARCS motivation factors (attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction) affect learners' education achievement through the parameters of practical value and hedonic value. To this end, a research model was presented that applied the main variables of attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction, which are four elements of ARCS motivation theory, a specific and systematic motivational strategy to induce and maintain learners' motivation. In order to empirically verify the research model of this study, a survey was carried out on learners with experience using smart learning. As a result of the study, first attention was found to have a positive effect on the hedonic value. Second, relevance was found to have a positive effect on the hedonic value. Third, it was found that confidence did not have a positive effect on the practical value and the hedonic value. Forth, satisfaction was found to have a positive effect on the practical value and the hedonic value. Fifth, practical value was found to have a positive effect on the education achievement. Sixth, hedonic value was found to have a positive effect on the education achievement. Through this, it can be seen that the intrinsic motivation of learners using smart learning affects the education achievement of users through intrinsic and extrinsic value. A variety of smart learning that combines advanced IT technologies such as AI and big data can contribute to improving learners' education achievement more effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, it can contribute a lot to social development.
