  • 본 논문에서는 300kW급 EBOP(Electrical Balance of Plant)의 개발에 관한 내용을 설명하고 있다. EBOP는 연료전지 출력인 DC 전원을 전력변환기술을 이용하여 AC전원으로 변환하는 인버터 시스템이다. 포스코에너지에서는 300kW급 EBOP 시스템을 국제 규격에 준하는 시험을 통해 개발 완료하였고 실증단지에 적용하여 성능 검증을 하였다.

  • Most LED drivers uses current control method to adjust LED current. Using AC power grid such as off-line converter, Buck topology is popular because input voltage of LED driver is much higher than LED output voltage. Normally DCM current control is more popular than CCM current mode control in the range of below 50W, But DCM characteristics are dependent on the input voltage variation. This paper deals with what should be considered in DCM for LED driver with valley fill circuit.

  • Recently, a fuel cell is remarkable for new generation system. The fuel cell generation system converts the chemical energy of a fuel directly into electrical energy. The fuel cell generation is characterized by low voltage and high current. For connecting to utility, it needs both a step up converter and an inverter. The step up converter makes DC link and the inverter changes DC to AC. In this paper full bridge converter and the single phase inverter are designed and installed for fuel cell. Simulation and experiment verify that fuel cell generation system could be applied for the distributed generation.

  • MgO thin films were deposited by $O^+$ IBAD method and results showed assisting oxygen ion beam energy plays a significant role in characteristics of MgO thin films. The lowest firing inception voltage, the highest brightness and the highest luminous efficiency were obtained when oxygen ion beam energy was 300 eV.

  • Recently, as exactly clean source, the research of photovoltaic power generation is undertaken actively and widely. In this paper, an auxiliary power supply system which is composed of photovoltaic generation and DC-DC boost chopper is described. This system in mainly for Air-conditioner appliances is which AC source is formed through rectifying circuit and without electrical storage battery. There exist two operating modes depending on the power quantity of the solar cells and the load. The control algorithm is discussed.

  • In foreign countries, high-efficiency electric machineries have been developed in view of cost reduction, environmental issues, energy conservation etc. Especially they focus on developing energy conservation measures and demand-side management. Thus, patent application and secure of patent claims are on the rise as important issues in this field. In this paper, we analyzed patent application trends about inverters, ac/dc converters, reactive power control equipments, high-efficiency transformers and electric ballasts among high-efficiency electric machineries. First, we analyzed general technology trends, and constructed patent technology data. Second, we graphed patent application trends in terms of application years, assignees and nations.

  • Solar energy has proven to be a potential clean energy source to help offset the large consumption of fossil. Nowadays, many research projects aim to enhance photovoltaic (PV) system performance and functionality. This research focuses on integrating self-monitor capability into dc-dc converters that control PV panels to detect a fault in series-connected PV cells, called hot spotting. A detection method using ac parameter characterization is proposed and its operation is examined through simulation.

  • Ac susceptibility of iron-nitride magnetic fluids with various particle number densities was measured. Therelaxation time increases rapidly as the temperature decreases or the inter-particle interaction increases. The analysis of the data suggests that the activation energy is proportional to ${(k_{B}T/J_{typ})}^{\alpha}$ with $\alpha$~-0.24 in the lower temperature range in which the thermal energy is comparable to the magnetic dipole interaction.

  • Lithium batteries are widely used in mobile electronic devices due to their higher voltage and energy density, lighter weight and longer life cycle compared to other secondary batteries. In particular, high demand for lithium batteries is expected for electric cars. In case of lithium batteries used in electric cars, driving distance must be calculated accurately and discharging should not be done below the level of making it impossible to crank. Therefore, accurate information about state of charge (SOC) becomes an essential element for reliable driving. In this paper, a new method of estimating the SOC of lithium polymer batteries by using AC impedance is proposed. In the proposed method, parameters are extracted by fitting a curve of impedance measured at each frequency on the equivalent impedance model and extracted parameters are used to estimate SOC. Experiments were conducted on lithium polymer batteries with similar capacities made by different manufacturers to prove the validity of the proposed method.
