  • Spontaneous and isolated dissection of the limb arteries without involvement of the aorta is extremely rare, and has been reported previously in pregnant patients in association with collagen vascular disease, and in cases of high-energy trauma or intensive activity in athletes. There is no consensus yet on indications for medical or surgical therapeutic modality. Due to the rarity of spontaneous dissection of external iliac artery, its natural history has been poorly described. A healthy 50-year-old male with normotension was admitted with an acute onset of left flank pain. Left external iliac artery dissection was diagnosed by abdominal computed tomography.

  • 본 논문에서는 소셜 빅데이터에 대한 심층적 언어분석을 통해 이슈를 탐지하고 모니터링하는 소셜위즈덤 시스템을 소개한다. 소셜위즈덤은 키워드의 단순 빈도 정보 외에도 이슈의 신규성, 중요성, 파급력, 관심도, 신뢰도 등을 수치화한 이슈성지수에 기반한 이슈성 측정이 가능하여 정확한 이슈탐지가 가능하다. 또한, 추가적인 정보로 단순 긍부정 분석이 아닌 17 개의 세부감성을 분석해서 제공하고 긍부정에 대한 호불호의 원인분석 정보도 제공하므로, 소셜미디어 분석에 기반한 깊은 인사이트를 제공하여 사용자의 의사결정에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있다.

HGFK1 is Associated with a Better Prognostis and Reverses Inhibition by Gefitinib in NSCLC Cases

  • Purpose: Non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the leading worldwide source of cancer-related deaths. Although some drugs targeting EGFR mutations have been developed, most advanced cases are still incurable. New targets for anticancer drugs are demanded. The kringle 1 domain of hepatocellular growth factor alpha chain (HGFK1) is a potent anti-angiogenesis factor. It has also emerged as a potential anticancer factor in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The expression of HGFK1 protein in patients with NSCLC has not been reported to date. Method: Here, we assessed HGFK1 expression by Western blotting in 103 cases with advanced NSCLC to investigate the impact of HGFK1 on survival. Results: Results revealed 33 (30.1%) patients were classified as high expressors, this being significantly associated with less remote metastasis (P = 0.002) but not with lymph node metastasis (P = 0.062). There was also a significant association between HGFK1 expression and tumor size (P = 0.025) as well as clinical stage (P = 0.012). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that both overall survival (OS) and progression free survival (PFS) of patients with HGFK1 expression were longer than those of patients without HGFK1 expression (P = 0.004 and P = 0.001 respectively). HGFK1 reversed gefitinib inhibition in the resistent NSCLC cell line A431/GR but did not inhibit the proliferation of NSCLC cells A431 and A431/GR directly. Reversion of gefitinib inhibition in A431/GR cells by HGFK1 was related to decreased phosphorylation of ERK and STAT5. Conclusions: HGFK1 may be a useful prognostic factor of advanced NSCLC patients and a potential drug for gefitinib resistant patients.

Novel Quinazoline Derivatives Targeting on EGFR Kinase Mediated Signal Pathway in A431 Human Epidermoid Carcinoma Cells (A431 피부암세포의 EGFR kinase 신호체계에 선택적으로 작용하는 새로운 퀴나졸린계 억제제)

  • Inhibitors of EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) kinase activity may prove useful to therapeutically intervene in cancer and to treat other proliferative diseases. In this study, we investigated the inhibitive effects of two compounds named 63013 and 63033 possess a [1,4]-dioxino quinazoline structure that links the alkoxy side chains together and their structural characteristics are considered to allow better solubility than the dialkoxyquinazoline derivatives. The EGFR kinase activities of A431 human epidermoid carcinoma cells, stimulated by EGF were inhibited by treatment with 63013 and 63033 in a dose-dependent manner respectively. Consistent with the compound-mediated EGFR kinase suppression, the major EGF-related downstream target molecules, such as MEK1/2, MAPK p44/42, AKT and STAT3, were also suppressed by both compounds. Interestingly, both compounds led to cell growth inhibition at a lower concentration than that of Gefitinib (Iressa$^{(R)}$). Collectively, our study showed that both compounds may have good therapeutic potential as an EGFR kinase specific inhibitor to treat EGFR-related diseases.

Evaluation of Parthenocarpic Fruit Set in Lycopersicon esculentum Mill (토마토의 단위결과성 재료 탐색)

  • This study was carried out to use as the basic data for breeding by evaluating parthenocarpy with 12 tomato lines and 17 allied species. Fruit set of open pollination plots was over 90% in 11 lines(CLN430-85-13-5 etc), 9.1-50% in 10 lines(LA1306 etc.), and the rest no fruit set. Fruit set after emasculation resulted highly 51.4% in CLN431-85-13-12, 53.9% in CLN425-130-8-1, 66.7% in CLN435-185-4-9, and 72.2% in Ventura, respectively. But fruit set in other tomato lines resulted under 50% and 17 allied species(LA1306 etc) resulted no effect of fruit set. Fruits other emasculation had no seeds and fruits after open pollination had 10-70 seeds per fruit. This result of this work showed that 3 lines, CLN435-185-4-9, CLN425-130-8-1, and CLN431-85-13-12, resulted in good effectiveness on the evaluation of parthenocarpy in tomatoes.

  • In this paper we proposed a intelligent recommendation processor that the type of auto parts failures that may occur in the checkout process is represented by association relationship and the relationship was implemented with ontology. For this purpose, we defined 10 kinds of failure types and their associated parts, and we designed to simulate the recommendation process of five views. For components to be checked with the type of fault, it was possible to be expansion recommendation to the intelligent by controlling the weight value according to the relationship on the components.

In this paper, we remove the restriction "if ${\lambda}^+_1$ belongs to the interval ${\lambda}^+_1{\in}({\frac{1}{2}},\;{\frac{5}{2}})$" and prove $${\lambda}^+_1{\geq}\;\{\frac{S_{min}+6}{8}\;for\;-\frac{3}{2}<S_{min}{\leq}30, \\{\frac{1+\sqrt{2S_{min}}+4}{2}}\;for\;S_{min}{\geq}30$$.

  • We investigate the asymptotic behavior of positive solutions to the elliptic equation (0.1) ${\Delta}u+|x|^{l_1}u^p+|x|^{l_2}u^q=0$ in $\mathbb{R}^n$. We obtain a conclusion that, for n $\geq$ 3, -2 < $l_2$ < $l_1$ $\leq$ 0 and q > p > 1, any positive radial solution to (0.1) has the following properties: $lim_{r{\rightarrow}{\infty}}r^{\frac{2+l_1}{p-1}}\;u$ and $lim_{r{\rightarrow}0}r^{\frac{2+l_2}{q-1}}\;u$ always exist if $\frac{n+1_1}{n-2}$ < p < q, $p\;{\neq}\;\frac{n+2+2l_1}{n-2}$, $q\;{\neq}\;\frac{n+2+2l_2}{n-2}$. In addition, we prove that the singular positive solution of (0.1) is unique under some conditions.
