Quality management has been recognized as an important means to secure business competitiveness for management environment changes and competitiveness reinforcement. An effort of an ISO 9001 certification has thought that it is the best way to practice quality management. This paper checks a quality management situation of manufacturing companies that acquired ISO 9001 certification. Then, this paper investigates whether quality management is actual1y contributing to production performance and proposes proper alternatives for an improvement of production performance.

This paper is case study for ISO 9001/2000 quality management system certification of social welfare. We constructed quality management system for efficient operation for service quality improvement of welfare hall which is society welfare facilities. The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9000 QMS (Quality Management System) standards specify requirements that need to demonstrate an organization's ability to consistently provide products or services. Korean companies have been implementing ISO 9000 QMS to compete in global markets. ISO 9000 QMS standards have been revised in 1994, 2000, 2008, and 2015 since the first release in 1987. The key change in ISO 9001:2015 is focused on risk-based thinking. It means that risk inherent within an organization is early identified and proactively controlled by use of all aspects of QMS rather than taking preventive actions. In this article we did literature review mainly on empirical study related to motivation and operation performance of ISO 9000 implementation. We present the necessity of changeover, features of new version, and comparison between new and old version. In order to see how well organizations can implement the new ISO 9001:2015 we focus on manufacturing companies that are going to convert to ISO 9001:2015 registration. We collect their key characteristics such as yearly sales, the number of MPI (Management Performance Indicators), the number of KPI (Key Performance Indicators), the number of quality control engineers, quality control engineer work experience, and the degree of adaptiveness between new ISO 9001:2015 QMS and QMS currently operating in manufacturing companies. Especially the degree of adaptiveness is analyzed by correlation analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA, and t-tests to discover the relationships among their characteristics. We found out that the degree of adaptiveness is linearly related to quality control engineer work experience and the number of MPI and KPI that is practically utilized in manufacturing companies. We summarize the implications discovered to help manufacturing industry convert to ISO 9001:2015 registration.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS)-Requirements in 1987 and has revised four times since then. ISO 9001:2015 is the latest edition. This latest edition has two most noticeable changes. The first major change of new edition focuses on performance with an emphasis on Risk-Based Thinking (RBT) to enhance the process approach. The new edition consists of ten clauses whose first three clauses are largely same as older edition but risks are clearly stated and stressed in last seven clauses, emphasizing on Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle at all levels in the organization. The second major change is that the new edition has the same overall structure as other ISO management system standards known as High Level Structure (HLS) with Annex SL. The companies obtained the certificate of new ISO 9001:2015 QMS by September 15, 2018 in order to maintain as an ISO QMS registered firm. In this article we collected transition audit data from more than 100 companies that registered ISO 9001:2015 QMS for recent three years. We performed a statistical analysis to disclose the relationships between the characteristics of companies and the minor nonconformities found in ISO 9001:2015 requirements during transition audit processes. We also aim to interpret the findings and deduce the implications of the statistical results.

ISO 9000 quality standards families were established in 1987 and have been started to implement Korean industry since early 1990s. ISO 9000 standards families of 1987 were revised in 1994 and 2000, respectively, by request of world wide certification bodies and industry quality experts. This article reviews the necessity of ISO 9001 :2000 revision, quality management principles behind it, and benefits that ISO 9001: 2000 could bring. We summarize responses of foreign industry that ISO 9001: 2000 has been implemented. Survey questionnaire for 23 requirements of ISO 9001: 2000 from manufacturing companies of Busan and Kyungnam provinces are collected. Research hypotheses that there is any difference in quality management system practical application due to company size and implementation motivation are tested using SPSS. Finally, recommendations are provided for operating successful quality management system.

한국전자통신연구원(이하 ETRI)은 2002년에 국제표준으로 널리 통용되어 많은 분야에서 적용되고 있는 ISO 9001:2000 품질경영시스템 인증을 획득하여 현재까지 유지하여 오고 있다. ETRI의 ISO 9001:2000 품질경영시스템 도입 목적은 대외적으로는 연구개발 경쟁력 향상과 고객만족 증진이고, 대내적으로는 연구개발 업무 수행의 체계적이고 공통된 틀을 제공하는 R&D 표준프로세스의 정립과 이의 지속적으로 개선하기 위한 것이다 이를 통한 연구개발 수행 활동의 효과 성과 효율성을 제고하여 최종적으로는 고객에게 제공되는 연구개발 결과물의 품질을 향상시키는데 있다. 본 논문에서는 ETRI가 ISO 9001:2000 품질경영시스템을 R&D 프로세스 혁신을 위한 기반시스템으로 활용한 접근방법에 대하여 살펴보고, 그를 위해 연구개발 업무에 대하여 구체적으로 정의한 R&D 프로세스 모델 및 그 활용체계에 대하여 간략히 소개하고자 한다.

Most organizations adopt a process-based approach to manage their operations and now business process management(BPM) is a well-established concept. Because ISO 9001:2000 has been influenced by BPR and it also emphasizes process based. BPM can get together with ISO 9001:2000. Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information has taken ISO 9001:2000 certificate in November 11, 2003 and now implements quality management systems based on BPMS. We call it KQMS(KISTI Quality Management System). KQMS based on BPMS is a new example in field of ISO quality management and is expected to support process management well.

The capability of lactic acid bacteria (LABs) to adhere to intestinal epithelial cells and vaginal epithelial cells is an important factor in the formation of a barrier to prevent the colonization of pathogenic bacteria. In addition, the ability to coaggregate with pathogens and production of antimicrobial agents also allow LABs to fight against pathogens. In this work, Weissella confusa PL9001 was tested for its ability to inhibit the growth and adherence of genitourinary pathogens, including Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE), isolated from the urine of hospitalized female patients. W. confusa PL9001 was found to coaggregate with the four pathogens, as observed with a light microscope and scanning electron microscope. In competition, exclusion, and displacement tests, the adherence of the pathogens to T24 bladder epithelial cells was also inhibited by W. confusa PL9001. Accordingly, these results suggest that W. confusa PL9001 is potentially useful for both preventive and therapeutic treatment of genitourinary infections.

This paper investigates the relative effect of each ISO 9001 : 2000 quality management system's requirement and business performance. The empirical tests are conducted in ISO 9001 certification companies. As a result, the $1^{st}$, it shows the requirements positively affect performance of financial. The $2^{nd}$, also it shows the requirements positively affect non-financial performance. The $3^{rd}$ also it show the non-financial performance positively effect performance of financial performance.
