  • After kidney transplantation, immunosuppressive medication is essential to enhance the quality of life and survival of the transplanted patient. To promote the medication adherence, subjects are required to have converged attitude with open mind. Medication adherence will depend on the attitude of the psychosocial characteristics and treatment guidelines. The purpose of this study was to identify the specific types and characteristics of medication adherence in the view of kidney transplanted patients. Q-methodology, a technique for extracting subjective opinions, was used. Forty participants completed the Q-sort activity, rating each statement relative to the others. The collected data were analyzed by QUANL PC program. Four types of medication adherence of kidney transplanted patients were identified: 'positive lifestyle management type', 'vigilant appearance management type', 'somber oblivion type', 'vigilant family support type'. Through the identification of attitudes to medication adherence, repeated and individualized medication adherence program will help to prevent graft rejection.

  • Two experiments were conducted to investigate effects of target types and retinal eccentricity on the search of a target while both target and background stimuli were static or moving. A visual search task was used in both experiments. The retinal eccentricity was determined by five concentric circles increasing by the unit of 1.6 and the target was different from the background stimuli in either orientation(orientation target) or a distinctive feature(feature target). In Experiment 1 where both the target and background stimuli were presented statically, an interaction between retinal eccentricity arid target type was found. While search time of the orientation target was not affected by the retinal eccentricity, that of the feature target increased as the retinal eccentricity increased. In Experiment 2 where all stimuli were moving, the interaction effect was also found. But the reason was not the same as that in Experiment 1. In the moving condition, while the search time of the orientation target decreased consistently as the retinal eccentricity increased, that of the feature target was not affected by the retinal eccentricity. The implications and limitations of the present results were discussed with respects to the real world situations such as driving cars or flying airplanes.

  • Ball, Thames & Phelps(2008) introduced the idea of Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching(MKT) teacher. Specialized Content Knowledge(SCK) is one of six categories in MKT. SCK is a knowledge base, useful especially for math teachers to analyze errors, evaluate alternative ideas, give mathematical explanations and use mathematical representation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the elementary teacher's SCK. 29 six graders made word problems with respect to division fraction $9/10{\div}2/5$. These word problems were classified four sentence types based on Sinicrope, Mick & Kolb(2002) and then representative four sentence types were given to 10 teachers who have taught six graders. Data analysis was conducted through the teachers' evaluation of the answers(word problems) and revision of students' mathematical errors. This study showed how to know meanings of fraction division for effective teaching. Moreover, it suggested several implications to develop SCK for teaching and learning.

  • Identity theft happens frequently in popular MMORPG(Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Games) where profits can be gained easily. In spite of the importance of security about identity theft in MMORPG, few methods to prevent and detect identity theft in online games have been proposed. In this study, we investigate real identity theft cases of an online game and define the representative patterns of identity theft as the speedy type, cautious type, and bold type. We then propose the automatic identity theft detection model based on the multi-class classification. We verify the system with one of the leading online games in Korea. The multi-class detection model outperforms the existing binary-class one(hacked or not).

  • The types and the characteristics of students' responses to anomalous data in studying 'boiling point' were investigated, and the degree of cognitive conflict and conceptual change were compared by students' cognitive variables. Tests regarding field dependence-independence and logical thinking ability, a preconception test, and a test of responses to anomalous data were administered to 137 sixth graders. Among them, 90 students whose preconceptions were consistent with the presented initial theory were selected. After learning the scientific concept, students' conceptual change was examined. Six types of responses identified were as follows: Rejection, reinterpretation, exclusion, uncertainty, belief decrease, and theory change. The main responses were rejection (33%) and theory change (39%). The results of Mann-Whitney U test indicated students who were field independent and had higher logical thinking abilities felt more cognitive conflict and exhibited more conceptual change.

  • Floating architecture is the most effective way to accommodate itself to sea-level rise due to climate change. At the same time floating architecture is the best model to offer the new spatial experience through water-friendly environment. Domestic floating architecture is still on the early stage compared to Europe which has several companies specialized in designing and building floating architecture. Floating architecture is divided into 8 types according to its criteria such as program, form, scale, level, location, access, mobility and energy. The following are design characteristics of floating architecture : (1) composed of 2 stories, (2) having large deck, (3) designing rectangular plan and balanced mass, (4) maximizing view, (5) having water-friendly space, (6) multi-using space and minimizing surface, (7) planning section to control light reflecting from the water, (8) modular and unit system.

  • The deep learning model can produce false prediction results due to inputs that deviate from training data through variation, which leads to fatal accidents in areas such as autonomous driving and security. To ensure reliability of the model, the model's coping ability for exceptional situations should be verified through various mutations. However, previous studies were carried out on limited scope of models and used several mutation types without separating them. Based on the CIFAR10 data set, widely used dataset for deep learning verification, this study carries out reliability verification for total of six models including various commercialized models and their additional versions. To this end, six types of input mutation algorithms that may occur in real life are applied individually with their various parameters to the dataset to compare the accuracy of the models for each of them to rigorously identify vulnerabilities of the models associated with a particular mutation type.

  • This study was conducted to investigate breakfast consumption pattern in relation to diet quality and health outcomes of Korean adults. Data are from 2001 National Health and Nutrition Survey. Dietary information of 3406 adults aged $30{\sim}49$ years and their socio-demographic characteristics, blood lipid profile, fasting blood glucose, blood pressure, anthropometric measurements were analyzed. According to the breakfast consumption of the subjects, they were classified to breakfast skippers and eaters and the eaters' breakfast staple types were defined as RICE, BREAD, NOODLES, MIXED (mixed types including several grain-based dishes), and OTHERS. The proportions of breakfast consumption patterns were 18.4% for skippers, 71.1% for RICE, 2.6% for BREAD, 1.6% for NOODLES, 4.0% for MIXED, and 2.4% for OTHERS. Breakfast skippers had lower daily nutrients intake than breakfast eaters but their health outcomes did not differ from those of eaters. Instead, men with BREAD pattern had higher blood cholesterol and women in NOODLE pattern had higher blood glucose and lower HDL cholesterol. The BREAD pattern breakfast had higher energy contribution from fat and lower nutrient densities and the subjects in BREAD pattern had higher level of household income. Men's BREAD pattern breakfast consisted more animal products than that of women. There was high probability of undernutrition among women in NOODLE pattern and their mean household income was the lowest. From these results, in Korea, breakfast staple types have different food patterns and there was need for developing healthy food patterns appropriate to each staple type. The breakfast consumption pattern had influences on nutrient adequacy of the diet and health outcomes and seemed to represent socio-economic status. These could be used in doing nutrition education in community.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the types of middle school students’ responses to dinosaur extinction inconsistent with the students’ previous conceptions. The types of texts about ‘the cause of dinosaur extinction’ were developed; one that was based on students’ previous ideas, while the other was based on conflicting materials. The students’ responses to the conflict materials were classified into six types: rejection, reinterpretation, uncertainty, belief decrease, partial theory change, and conceptual change. These results show that the use of conflict materials does not always promote conceptual change. Therefore, teachers will be able to help students change their conceptions in science classrooms by understanding students’ various responses to conflict materials and designing instructional strategy concretely.
