This study was carried out to investigate the effects of shading conditions for appropriate light level for several floricultural plants native to Korea. The results under the different shading levels of 0, 30, 50, 60% and full sun light are as follows; Growth of Miscanthus sinensis and Pennisetum alopecuroides, which are heliophyte plants, were better under 30% shading condition than full sunlight. Higher shading levels was poor than control. Growth of Sedum spectable was decreased when light intensity was decreased. As shading level increased, growth reduction rate in Sedum spectable were higher than that of other species. Growth and ornamental value of Arisaema amurense, which is sciophyte plants, were increased under 50% shading.

This study aimed to provide basic data for the design and R&D of golf wear intended for 64 people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s by identifying the needs for golfers through a survey of golf wear purchasing conditions and preferences. The findings shows that purchases are made at permanent discount stores, and information about products are discovered through TV and Internet advertisements. Golf wear is purchased once or twice a year, with annual expenditures ranging from KRW 500,000 to less than 1 million, with single purchases ranging from KRW 200,000 to less than 500,000. When purchasing golf wear, design was considered first, with women preferring white garment, while men preferred black and gray ones. Men tended to prefer a PK collar button fastening style, while women preferred a knit style with a round neckline. Women preferred semi-fitted and fitted styles, while men preferred semi-fitted and loose-fitting styles, showing significant differences. When considering the production of golf wear, the younger the age of the consumer, the more the results indicated that the design needed to look younger, so it is the necessary to design golf wear that reflects the functional need of golfer while prioritizing designs for various ages.

Based on an analysis on the difference on the measurement sites and their relations to osteoporosis diagnosis and prevalence, this study attempts to investigate the patterns of prevalence in skeletal sites in the aging process. The samples were driven by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2008-2010) on Korean females (n = 4,449) aged from 50 to 89 years. The result shows that the differences on affected sites in the aging process were detected as follow: the osteoporosis prevalence in lumbar spine was relatively high in 50s, 60s and 70s; however, the prevalence in the proximal femur (total hip and femoral neck) was higher in 80s. In terms of the diagnosis identified in a single site, the prevalence in lumbar spine seemed to decrease as age increases; but, the rate went up in the figure of femoral neck. Overall, the osteoporosis prevalence for the diagnosis detected in multiple sites was increased as age goes up. In general, the increase in lumbar osteoporosis prevalence starts earlier than that of femoral neck. The findings of this study also suggests that if the proximal femur site is only used for diagnosing women age in 50s, 60s and 70s, the significant portion of osteoporosis patients could be misdiagnosed as normal.

Effects of nanoparticles (NPs) on skin corrosion and irritation using three-dimensional human skin models were investigated based on the test guidelines of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD TG431 and TG439). EpiDerm$^{TM}$ skin was incubated with NPs including those harboring iron (FeNPs), aluminum oxide (AlNPs), titanium oxide (TNPs), and silver (AgNPs) for a defined time according to the test guidelines. Cell viabilities of EpiDerm$^{TM}$ skins were measured by the 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2.5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide based method. FeNPs, AlNPs, TNPs, and AgNPs were non-corrosive because the viability was more than 50% after 3 min exposure and more than 15% after 60 min exposure, which are the non-corrosive criteria. All NPs were also non-irritants, based on viability exceeding 50% after 60 min exposure and 42 hr post-incubation. Release of interleukin 1-alpha and histopathological analysis supported the cell viability results. These findings suggest that FeNPs, AlNPs, TNPs, and AgNPs are 'non-corrosive' and 'non-irritant' to human skin by a globally harmonized classification system.
This study was conducted to investigate the distribution of bone density according to age and the prevalence rate of osteoporosis I 613, middle-aged women who visited Saint Bundo Hospital in Pusan from June to December, 1997. Mean bone density of lumbar spine(L2L4), and femoral neck of 50-59 years of age was significantly lower than those of 40-49 years of age(p<0.05). At the 60years of age, mean bone density of two sites were less than those of 50-59 years of age. Mean bone density of lumbar spine tin the group of sixties were 20.7% lower than that of group aged under 40 ; For femoral neck, women in their sixties showed 22.6% lower density compared to the women aged under forty. Bone density of ward's triangle of sixties were the least, which was 34.2% lower than that of group aged under 40. Bone density in lumbar spine, femoral neck, trochanter and ward's triangle correlates strongly with each other(p<0.001). The proportion of osteoporosis was 3.6% in the group of forties, 10.9% in the group of fifties and 33.8% for the group aged over 60, which was assessed by bone density of lumbar spine. Bone density of lumbar spine, femoral neck and ward's triangle were positively correlated with height, weight and BMI(p<0.001∼p<0.01), and weight showed highest correlation with the bone density. Forty-four percent of variation in lumbar spine bone density was explained by age and weight.
This study conducted surveys on perception and utilization of Korean soybean paste targeting 493 women from their 20s to 60s residing in Daegu. Most subjects married (75.3%), were part of a nuclear family (84.8%), had more than a high school diploma (95.8%), had a career (47.9%), lived in an apartment (68.4%), had a total household income of 5 million won or more (38.1%), and had monthly food expenses more than 0.5 million won and less than 1 million won (42.2%). Regarding perception, 'rich nutrition' was the most commonly held perception in subjects in their 60s (4.4), followed by 'good taste' in subjects in their 40s (4.3). Regarding reasons for consumption 'healthy' was highest in subjects in their 60s (47.3%) and 40s (45.6%) and 'delicious' in subjects in their 20s (56.1%). Regarding how to make it, subjects in their 60s responded 'know for sure' (57.1%), while only 2% of 20s responded the same. Subjects in their 50s and 60s had a higher ratio of answering 'know' while 20s and 30s 'don't know', For preparation methods, subjects in their 20s (53.1%) and 30s (41.4%) answered 'buy at the market', subjects in their 40s (68.9%) 'get from family or relatives' and subjects in their 60s (47.3%) 'make by one's own'. For preservation method, subjects in their 20s and 30s answered 'preserve in refrigerator', the 60s tend to answer 'preserve in jangdokdae'. Buying at the market was most common in subjects in their 20s (36.1%) and 30s (28.5%) and the reason was 'convenient' (39.6%). The place of purchase was 'in large supermarket or department store' (78.5%). For the future consumption pattern, 'increase in consumption of commercialized product (44.0%)', subjects in their 60s answered 'keep making at home' while subjects in their 30s and 40s answered 'keep making at home or buying product half and half'. According to the above study results, women living in Daegu region were aware of excellence of traditional soybean paste. However, due to changes in residential circumstance and lack of knowledge about the recipe, they did not make. They receive soybean paste t from family, relatives or bought in the market, which indicates the continuous decrease in home-made soybean paste. Therefore, due to the expanding social participation of women, the product market is expected to increase. I think it is important to develop traditional commercial soybean paste in the traditional way to improve the traditional flavors.
The middle aged women in their 40s and 50s were the subjects for this study. There were 6 women for the group of complex exercise. There were 6 women for the group of complex exercise and intake of peony beverage. There were 5 women for controlled group. This study compares and analyzes the effect of complex exercise program, in which the subjects exercise 60 minutes a day for three times a week, on the physical structure, inflammation factors and metabolic syndrome of middle aged women. The result is as shown in the following. there were significant difference (p<.001) for fibrinogen of each group in the change of inflammation factors due to regular complex exercise program and intake of peony beverage. But there were not significant difference in the period, period x the effect of groups' interaction. It is believed that there could be polluted variables, as the number of subjects for this study is not enough. So there should be a study that has more subjects to make it more significant.
As silver surfers'(older people who are good at surfing the Internet) SNS use and influence increase, SNS shopping channels are also favored as the major means of contactless shopping. The study analyzed the trends in fashion styles corresponding to taste on the SNS shopping channels with silver surfer women as the target. Even though the shopping channel was for people in their 50s and 60s, most of the design factors focused on casual styles and young taste rather than the formal and mature image. The material, trim, and patterns reflected a retro or formal factor but were also reinterpreted as a young image to show the various forms. The characteristics of the women's fashion styles for silver surfers on the SNS shopping channels can be summarized as follows. First, they chose items that portrayed a young image regardless of their age. The colors, materials, and patterns of the products also helped to create a young image. Second, there was a tendency to pursue various casual items. Silver surfer women chose practical, casual items because of their active lifestyle. Third, retro items were reinterpreted as young and trendy. Silver surfer women showed their retro tastes but preferred practical clothing with young images.
This study was carried out to investigate the perception, preference and usage of Korean festival foods of women according to age in Busan. The survey was conducted from October 15, 2012 to November 30, 2012 using questionnaires and the data were analyzed with the SPSS program. In general, younger women (20~30 years old) had a lower interest in Korean festival foods than slightly older women (40~50 years old). Most of women over 40 years of age prepared Korean festival foods at home, but many who were in their 20's (45.9%) and 30's (41.1%) obtained their foods from family and relatives. Overall, 62.5% of the subjects wanted to inherit Korean festival food from family and relatives. The dissemination of information and recipes of Korean festival foods were needed for succeeding to Korean festival foods. The taste score was significantly lower for women in their 20's compared to those over 40. Women under 40 reported a lower ease of cooking compared to women over 50. Tangguk (4.93) on Seollal showed the highest perception degree in the order of Namul (4.91), Tteokguk (4.90), and Sikhye (4.90). Jeon, Yaksik, Sikhye, and Gangjeong were the most highly preferred in every group. The preference degree of Pajeon was significantly higher in women under 40 than in those over 60. Tteokguk and Tangguk were more highly preferred in women in their 30's and 40's compared to the other groups. There was a significant positive correlation between preference for festival food and education level, degree of knowledge, degree of interest, will for inheritance, and will for learning (P<0.01). In conclusion, festival foods rich in local tradition should be developed, publicized and used to educate others. The simplification of cooking methods and the development of processed foods are needed to pass on the traditional food culture of Busan.
We conducted this study to compare the awareness and attitude of Busan housewives about consuming marine products. The survey was conducted from April 10 to May 31, 2019 by using a questionnaire. The degree of preference of seafood was higher among individuals in their 40s than those in the other age groups. Among the women in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 70s, the reason for liking seafood was 'taste', and for those in their 60s it was 'nutrition'. Overall the most common reason for disliking seafood was the 'fishy smell (37.4%)'. Conception degree of nutritive value of seafood was higher among individuals in their 30s and 40s than that for those individuals in their 50s, 60s and 70s. As for the price of seafood, the wives over 40s thought seafood was more expensive than did those wives in their 30s. The younger the individuals were, the lower was the perceived degree of safety was 49.8% of the subjects reported that the main concern for purchase was 'freshness'. The perceived degree of safety for imported seafood was better for the wives in their 60s and 70s than that for those wives in their 30s, 40s and 50s. The confidence level for local Korean seafood was higher for the wives in their 60s than that for the wives in their 50s. The degree of preference for seafood was moderate overall, except for Jellyfish. Age was positively correlated with conception for safety and dietary attitude (P<0.01), whereas age was negatively correlated with monthly food expenditure, nutrition knowledge and intake requirements (P<0.01). Preference for seafood was positively correlated with conception for safety (P<0.05), nutrition knowledge (P<0.05), dietary attitude (P<0.01), awareness for nutritive value (P<0.01) and intake requirements (P<0.01). Laws and regulations should be reinforced in order to promote eating more seafood and periodic research to determine the actual amount of consumed seafood and people's preferences should be conducted.
