A Study Iron Losses On the Cable Racks adjacent to Under Ground Power Cable (지중전력 케이블에 근접한 지지물의 철손에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is described on the eddy current for a peripheral magnetic objects of under ground power cable. The materials of cable rack is used FRP and SUS in the place of iron. Each specimen were measureed for eddy current loss and Hysteresis loss by Epstein's method. The results is compared each other. Hysteresis loss is inversely proportional to $\textrm{f}^{0.6}$ of frequence as supply voltage is constant. Also, iron loss is increased to 0.86 times for varinace of frequency from 60[Hz] to 50[Hz] as a maxium flux density is constant. In the case of Fe, Hysteresis loss is above 70[% ] of total iron loss. In the other hand, SUS is decreased to go[%] of Fe. by the simulation results using Loss Program Package. The iron loss of materials SUS, FRP is near zeor by Epstein's method.

Thin-layer Drying Kinetics of Robusta Coffee

  • This paper was aimed to study the drying kinetics of coffee and to investigate the thin-layer drying kinetics of coffee by using a convective air dryer. The coffee was dried for the temperatures of 40, 50 and $60^{\circ}C$ with relative humidity in the range of 14-25% the airflow rate fixed at 1 m/s. According to the experiment result, the drying rate curve showed that drying process took place only in the falling rate period. Seven thin layer drying models (Newton, Page, Henderson and Pabis, Logarithmic, Wang and Singh, Two terms, Modified Henderson and Pabis) were fitted to the experimental moisture content data. The Two-trem model was found to be a better model for describing the characteristics of coffee for the temperatures of 40, 50 and $60^{\circ}C$. The effective moisture diffusivity of coffee increased when the drying temperature increased. The value was in the range of $4.5028{\times}10^{-11}$ to $6.4803{\times}10^{-11}m^2/s$.

Continuous Rapid Fermentation of Sardine Soy Sauce by Using Column Type Reactor Packed Immobilized Yeast Cells (고정화 효모를 충진한 column형 reactor에 의한 정어리 어간장의 속성 연속발효)

  • This present study was carried out particulary focusing on rapid fermentation of soy sauce by using column type reactor $(30\;cm{\times}5\;cm)$ packed each immobilized cells of Pediococcus halophilus R-22, Saccharomyces rouxii R-60 and Candida etchellsii H-50. When immobilized P. halophilus R-22 by column type reactor was performed continuously fermentation, lactic acid was produced $0.62{\sim}0.64%$ during 25 days and then decreased gradually after 30 days. S. rouxii R-60 was Produced the $2.1{\sim}2.5%$ ethylalcohol constantly for 35 days and also C. etchellsii H-50 was produced $14{\sim}16\;mg/l$ 4-ethylguaiacol for 35 days and then this products were decreased gradually after fermentation of 40 days. Final Products of fish sauce contained 1,721.6 mg% total nitrogen, 1,584.1 mg% amino-nitrogen, 0.75% lactic acid, 2.7% ethylalcohol and 18.2 mg/l 4-ethylguaiacol.

Seedling Qualities of Watermelon as Affected by Different Raising Seedling Period and Growth Characteristics after Planting (육묘 기간에 따른 수박의 묘 소질과 정식 후 생육특성)

  • This study was carried out to establish qualities of watermelon seedling (Citrullus lanatus) according to raising seedling period (RSP; 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, and 65 days) and was carried out to investigate growth characteristics after planting of the seedlings. In seedling qualities according to RSP, Plant height, stem diameter, leaf area of seedling with RSP 65 treatment were significantly increased. Fresh and dry weight in the above of corp showed a significant difference among the seedlings with RSP 40-45, RSP 50-60 and RSP 65 treatment, and that in of root were significantly higher in the seedlings with RSP 40, 45, 65 treatments than with other RSP treatments. S/R ratio was lower in the seedlings with RSP 40 and 45 treatments than with other RSP treatments. RSP affected to the leaf area and S/R ratio of seedling. After 11 weeks after planting of a various seedlings, except that height and node number of plant with 45 RSP treatment was lower than other RSP treatments, other growth characteristics were not significantly different amon RSP treatments. Leaf area, fresh weight, dry weight and S/R ratio were lowest in plant with RSP 65 treatment. Relative growth rate and net assimilation rate of planted watermelon tended to decrease and leaf area ratio was continuously increased until 9th week in the all treatments. The lighter and heavier fruit were produced in plants with RSP 40 and RSP 65 treatments (9.7 kg and 9.9 kg) and in RSP 50 and RSP 55 treatments (both 11.0kg), respectively. Fruit sugar contents was highest in fruit with RSP 45 treatment, and was lowest in RSP 50 and RSP 60 treatments. RSP showed a polynomial regression relation with the increment of fruit weight and the weight of harvested fruit. Considering the increment and weight of fruit, the most for RSP of watermelon seedling for planting were 50-55 days.

  • A total of 220 adult male mice (18-20g) of the S.M. strain were divided into ten experimental and control groups. The total-body X-ray irradiation doses used were 50 r, 100r, 200r, 400r, 600r, 800r, 1,000r, 1,200r, 1,400r, and1,600r. The respiratory arrest (mortality) caused by each irradiation doses were observed for 30 days. Relationships between irradiation doses and survival time and percentage of response were examined.   • The antibacterial activity of clove (Eugenia caryophyllata Thumb) in culture troth against S. aureus was tested at 35, 5, -20, 50, 55 and 60$^{\circ}C$. Tryptic soy broth(TSB) containing 0∼0.5%(w/v) of clove was inoculated with 105∼107 CFU/ml of S. aureus and incubated at each temperature. The growth of S. aureus occured at 0.1% clove after a prolonged lag period while viable cells of S. aureus decreased more than 2 log cycles at 0.3 and 0.4% clove during 12 hours storage at 35$^{\circ}C$. During 32 days of refrigerated storage at 5$^{\circ}C$, survivors of S. aureus were decreased with the progress of time and increasing clove concentration. At the presence of 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4% clove, bacterial cells were dead after 32, 20 and 16 days of refrigerated storage, respectively. During 32 days of frozen storage at -20$^{\circ}C$, survivors of S. aureus were decreased less than 0.5 log cycle at 0% clove. At the presence of 0.1∼0.4% clove, survivors were decreased 2.5∼3.0 log cycles after 1 day and then decreased 0.4∼0.8 log cycles through the frozen storage. There were small changes in populations of S. aureus in TSB between different concentrations of clove during frozen storage. The D-values of S. aureus at clove 0, 0,2, 0.4% were 28.53, 15.14, 8.9 min at 50$^{\circ}C$, 18.43, 10.32, 6.74 min at 55$^{\circ}C$ and 12.78, 9.88, 5.72 min at 60$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The D-values for S. aureus were decreased with the increasing temperature and clove concentration.

  • We studied on the decoloring effect of viscose rayon by vapor type ozone processing using ozone's strong oxidation. When ozone is generated, it becomes high concentration in vapor state, but in the insolving process with water, there are a lot of lose of ozone. As a result, a study using ozone in vapor-high concentration state is needed. So, in this paper, vapor type ozone processing is used unlike previous ozone treatment method-an aqueous solution method-to get a good effect from shortening the processing time. When vapor type ozone processing was directly treated to fabrics, high concentration ozone was generated then in a short time oxidized a dye existed in fabrics and finally decolored it. As vapor type ozone did not directly response to an organic dye, viscose rayon's decolorization was to be studied by changing pick up ratio(60%, 50%, 40%, 30%, 20%) using water as a medium. When pick up ratio of water was 40%, fabric's whiteness was improved but tensile strength and elongation were reduced. So 60 minutes was assumed as the most adjust time to minimize the reduction of fabric's tensile strength and elongation moreover of maximize the improvement of whiteness.

Inhibitory Efficacy of Smilax china L. on Pro-collagen Type-1 Activity and MMP-1 Gene Expression in Fibroblasts (CCD-986sk) (섬유아세포(CCD-986sk)에서 청미래덩굴의 pro-collagen type-1 활성 및 MMP-1의 유전자 발현 저해능)

  • The purpose of this study was to research the biological activity of ethanol extract from Smilax china L. which is a vine shrub belonging to the lily family. For antiwrinkle effects, elastase inhibition effect of ethanol and water extracts from S. china L. showed 41.1% and 16.3% at $1,000{\mu}g/ml$ concentration. The collagenase inhibition effect of ethanol and water extracts from S. china L. showed more than 96.6% and 60.0% at $1,000{\mu}g/ml$ concentration. As a result of having fibroblast measured cell viability on fibroblast cell of ethanol extract from S. china L., it showed 71.7% with cell viability at $100{\mu}g/ml$ concentration. At $50{\mu}g/ml$ concentration, the procollagen biosynthesis effect of ethanol extract from S. china L. was 139.86%. At the same concentration, the matrix metalloprotease (MMP)-1 inhibition effect of the ethanol extract was 74.9%. According to the results of Western blot of ethanol extract from S. china L., the expression of the MMP-1 protein was decreased by 35% at $50{\mu}g/ml$ concentration. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of ethanol extract from S. china L. showed that the expression of MMP-1 mRNA was decreased by 45% at $50{\mu}g/ml$ concentration. The findings suggest that 70% ethanol extract from S. china L. (SC) has great potential as a cosmeceutical ingredient with antiwrinkle effects.

Mannanolytic Enzyme Activity of Paenibacillus woosongensis (Paenibacillus woosongensis의 만난분해 효소활성)

  • The activities of mannanase, ${\beta}$-mannosidase, and ${\alpha}$-galactosidase were detected in culture filtrate of Paenibacillus woosongensis showing mannanolytic activity for locust bean gum. Optimal conditions occurred at pH 5.5 and $60^{\circ}C$ for mannanase toward locust bean gum, pH 6.5 and $50^{\circ}C$ for ${\beta}$-mannosidase toward para-nitrophenyl-${\beta}$-D-mannopyranoside, and pH 6.0-6.5 and $50^{\circ}C$ for ${\alpha}$-galactosidase toward para-nitrophenyl-${\alpha}$-D-galactopyranoside in the culture filtrate, respectively. The mannanolytic enzyme of culture filtrate hydrolyzed mannobiose as well as manno-oligosaccharides including mannotriose, mannotetraose, mannopentaose and mannohexaose. It could also hydrolyze ${\alpha}$-1,6 linked galacto-oligosaccharides such as melibiose, raffinose and stachyose to liberate galactose residue. From these results, it is assumed that P. woosongensis produces three enzymes required for the complete decomposition of galactomannan.

A Study on Mechanical Properties of High Strength Concrete Performed by Full Scaled Mock-up Test (1:1 실부재 Mock-up Test를 통한 고강도 콘크리트의 역학적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The super tall building above 100 floors is required that each floor's height is more than 4 meters, and each core wall's thickness is more than 60cm. Therefore, for the successive accomplishment of super tall building, the full scale mock-up test was required. The test results are as follows; Real strength of core wall was satisfied with design strength at 28 days regardless of types of strength, and according to the consolidation effect, lower part's strength was a little higher than upper part's strength. Lateral force of HSC was evaluated with max. $4.5ton/m^2$, and hydration temperature of mock-up test was evaluated that maximun heat of central part revealed about $80^{\circ}C$ at 70MPa and $65^{\circ}C$ at 50MPa, and, the difference between inner and outter part revealed about $30^{\circ}C$ at 70MPa and $12^{\circ}C$ at 50MPa. Also, no crack by hydration temperature was not shown on the surface.
