  • In this paper, we deal with performance improvement of OBE for automatic gate clearance system by using DSRC network of 5.8GHz ISM band. A data format is improved to represent Rx and Tx information which is need to perform clearance at the gate of container terminal. An error message caused by data discordance is added to Previous data format. A graphic LCD monitor is used to control a character font and use Korean.

AN UPDATE ON THE MOPRA SOUTHERN GALACTIC PLANE CO SURVEY

  • The 22 m diameter Mopra telescope in Australia is being used to undertake an improved survey of the CO J = 1-0 line at 3mm along the 4th quadrant of the Galaxy, achieving an order of magnitude better spatial and spectral resolution (i.e. 0.6 and 0.1 km/s) than the Dame et al. (2001) survey that is publically available for the Southern Galactic plane. Furthermore, the Mopra CO survey includes the four principal isotopologues of the CO molecule (i.e. $^{12}CO$, $^{13}CO$, $C^{18}O$ and $C^{17}O$). The survey makes use of an 8 GHz-wide spectrometer and a fast mode of on-the-fly mapping developed for the Mopra telescope, where the cycle time has been reduced to just 1/4 of a second. 38 square degrees of the Galaxy, from $l=306-344^{\circ}$, $b=0{\pm}5^{\circ}$ have currently been surveyed, together with additional 9 sq. deg. regions around the Carina complex and the Central Molecular Zone. We present new results from the survey (see also Burton et al., 2013, 2014). The Mopra CO data are being made publically available as they are published; for the latest release see the project website at www.phys.unsw.edu.au/mopraco.

Design of an Active Inductor-Based T/R Switch in 0.13 μm CMOS Technology for 2.4 GHz RF Transceivers

  • A high-performance transmit/receive (T/R) switch is essential for every radio-frequency (RF) device. This paper proposes a T/R switch that is designed in the CEDEC 0.13 μm complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology for 2.4 GHz ISM-band RF applications. The switch exhibits a 1 dB insertion loss, a 28.6 dB isolation, and a 35.8 dBm power-handling capacity in the transmit mode; meanwhile, for the 1.8 V/0 V control voltages, a 1.1 dB insertion loss and a 19.4 dB isolation were exhibited with an extremely-low power dissipation of 377.14 μW in the receive mode. Besides, the variations of the insertion loss and the isolation of the switch for a temperature change from - 25℃ to 125℃ are 0.019 dB and 0.095 dB, respectively. To obtain a lucrative performance, an active inductor-based resonant circuit, body floating, a transistor W/L optimization, and an isolated CMOS structure were adopted for the switch design. Further, due to the avoidance of bulky inductors and capacitors, a very small chip size of 0.0207 mm2 that is the lowest-ever reported chip area for this frequency band was achieved.

5 GHz 대역 무선통신용 SHP 혼합기 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of the SHP Mixer for the 5 GHz Band Wireless Communication System)

  • 본 논문은 APDP(Anti-Parallel Diode Pair)를 이용한 5 GHz 대역 무선통신용 서브 하모닉 혼합기를 설계하였다. 기존의 혼합기는 LO와 RF를 혼합하여 투 주파수의 차로서 IF 신호를 얻는다. 그래서 주파수가 높아질수록, 안정되고, 높은 출력을 갖고, 우수한 위상잡음 특성을 갖는 LO 발진기가 필요하다. 그러나 APDP를 이용한 서브 하모닉 혼합기는 LO 신호의 제 2 고조파를 이용하여 혼합 작용을 한다. 따라서 기존의 혼합기에서 필요한 LO 주파수가 1/2로 줄어드는 장점이 있다. 제작된 서브 하모닉 혼합기의 변환손실은 LO 신호전력이 3dBm일 때, 12.83 dB이다. LO/IF, 2LO/IF, RF/IF, LO/RF의 분리도 특성은 39.17 dB, 58 dB, 34 dB, 67.9 dB이다. 그리고 입력 IP3는 8 dBm이다.

  • 본 논문은 컨테이너 터미널의 게이트에서 컨테이너 차량에 대한 통관업무를 무정차상태에서 수행이 가능한 자동게이트시스템(AGS: Automatic Gate System)의 구현에 대한 것이다. 이 AGS는 5.8GHz ISM 대역의 단거리전용통신(DSRC: Dedicated Short Range Communication) 시스템을 이용하고, 통관에 필요한 정보는 게이트에 설치된 기지국장치(RSE: Roadside Equipment)와 차량에 설치된 탑재장치(OBE: On Boa.0 Equipment)간의 무선통신을 통해 송수신된다. 기존의 시스템은 프린트를 통해 터미널내 정차위치정보(Slip)를 발급받기 위해 차량이 게이트에서 일단 정차해야 하는 번거로움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 DSRC 시스템과 이를 이용한 AGS에 대해 고찰하고, 기존의 시스템과의 차이점을 고찰하고자 한다.

Microwave Hyperthermic Lipolysis Using External RF Antenna

  • In this paper, we propose a microwave hyperthermic lipolysis method to reduce subcutaneous fat without skin burn using external RF antenna. Since skin is closer to the antenna and has higher conductivity compared to the fat beneath, the temperature of the skin rises higher than that of the fat when the external antenna illuminates EM energy into a body, which may cause skin burn. In order to avoid the damages on skin, a skin cooling system is employed to the external antenna. The operating frequency is set at 5.8 GHz which is one of the ISM bands, to concentrate EM power efficiently on fat and not to heat up the muscle behind the fat. The operation time and RF power level has been determined based on experimental results with pork. The feasibility of the proposed method was shown by applying the method to the rat.

  • 본 논문에서는 DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) 시스템을 이용하여 이동하는 차량에 탑재된 단말장치(OBE : On-Board Equipment)와 도로변에 설치된 기지국 장치 (RSE : Road-Side Equipment) 사이에 5.8GHz대 ISM대역의 주파수를 사용한 무선패킷통신방식을 통한 차량위치 추적 시스템을 제안한다. 기존의 차량 위치 추적 방식은 차량위치를 파악하여 차량위치를 센터와 사용자에게 전송하는 무선 통신방식으로 단순한 센서만 사용되었지만, 본 시스템은 차량의 위치, 통관, 차량간 통신, 교통정보 수집 및 분배 등의 다양한 업무를 수행하도록 개발되었다. 또한, 빠른 처리를 위해 통신 계층 중 물리, 데이터링크, 응용계층으로 설계하여, 기존의 무선 통신방식 및 센서를 대체할 새로운 기술로 제안한다.

MOLECULAR OUTFLOWS FROM NEWLY FORMED MASSIVE STARS

  • We map 6 massive young stellar objects (YSOs) in the CO J=2-1 line and survey 18 massive YSOs, including the six, in the HCO+ J=1−0, SiO J=2−1, H2O 616 − 523 maser, and CH3OH 70 − 61 A+ maser lines. We detect CO bipolar outflows in all the six mapped sources. Four of them are newly discovered (07299−1651, 21306+5540, 22308+5812, 23133+6050), while 05490+2658 is mapped in the CO J=2-1 line for the first time. The detected outflows are much more massive and energetic than outflows from low-mass YSOs with masses >20 M and momenta >300 M km s−1. They have mass outflow rates (3−6)×10−4 M yr−1, which are at least one order of magnitude greater than those observed in low-mass YSOs. We detect HCO+ and SiO line emission in 18 (100%) and 4 (22%) sources, respectively. The HCO+ spectra show high-velocity wings in 11 (61%) sources. We detect H2O maser emission in 13 (72%) sources and 44 GHz CH3OH maser emission in 8 (44%) sources. Of the detected sources, 5 H2O and 6 CH3OH maser sources are new discoveries. 20081+3122 shows high-velocity (>30 km s−1) H2O maser lines. We find good correlations of the bolometric luminosity of the central (proto)star with the mechanical force, mechanical luminosity, and mass outflow rate of molecular outflow in the bolometric luminosity range of 10−1−106 L, and identified 3 intermediate- or high-mass counterparts of Class O objects.

Dual-Gate FET구조를 이용한 Concurrent 이중 대역 주파수 혼합기 설계 연구 (A study of Concurrent Dual Band Mixer Design Using Dual-Gate FET Structure)

  • 본 논문은 Local oscillator의 2차 harmonic 신호를 이용하고 Dual gate FET 형태를 이용한 이중대역 주파수 혼합기 설계에 대한 연구 이다. 기존의 회로 구조는 두 대역을 처리하기 위해 각각 두 개의 국부 발진기와 혼합기를 사용함으로 인하여 구조의 복잡함과 큰 전력 손실이라는 단점을 가지고 있었다. 본 연구는 하나의 주파수 혼합기로 두 개의 대역에서 동시에 적용할 수 있는 Concurrent 이중 대역 설계 연구를 하였다. ISM(Industrial Science Medical) 대역 인 912MHz, 2.45GHz의 RF 입력과 455.5MHz, 1224.5MHz의 LO 입력 신호에서 동일한 IF인 1MHz로 하향변환 했을 때 모의실험 결과 변환이득은 각각 7dB, 12dB로 이고 RF-LO 격리도는 -29dB, -24.7dB가 나왔다. 또한 두 입력 단에서의 반사손실의 -15dB 이상을 얻었다. 또한 각각의 대역에서 잡음지수는 8.5dB, 6.26dB이다.

Microwave Cavity with Controllable Temperature for In Vitro Hyperthermia Investigations

  • Hyperthermia is a form of cancer treatment in which affected human tissue is exposed to $>40^{\circ}C$ temperature. In this paper, our goal is to assess the efficacy of fullerene agents to reduce heating time for cancer treatment. Such agents can accelerate heating of cancer cells and improve hyperthermia treatment efficacy. Typically, in vitro testing involves cancer cell culturing, heating cell cultures in accordance to specifications, and recording cancer cell viability after hyperthermia. To heat cell cultures, we design and evaluate a 2.4-GHz microwave cavity with controllable temperature. The cavity is comprised of a polystyrene cell culture dish (diameter = 54 mm, height = 13.5 mm) and a printed monopole antenna placed within the cavity for microwave heating. The culture temperature can be controlled through the intensity and duration of the antenna's microwave radiation. Heating experiments were carried out to validate the cavity's performance for F-12K culture medium (Kaighn's F-12K medium, ATCC). Importantly, fullerene agents were shown to reduce heating time and improve hyperthermia treatment efficacy. The culture medium temperature increased, on average, from $24.0^{\circ}C$ to $50.9^{\circ}C$ (without fullerene) and from $24.0^{\circ}C$ to $56.8^{\circ}C$ (with 3 mg/mL fullerene) within 15 minutes.
