An Improved Remote Sensing Image Fusion Algorithm Based on IHS Transformation

  • In remote sensing image processing, the traditional fusion algorithm is based on the Intensity-Hue-Saturation (IHS) transformation. This method does not take into account the texture or spectrum information, spatial resolution and statistical information of the photos adequately, which leads to spectrum distortion of the image. Although traditional solutions in such application combine manifold methods, the fusion procedure is rather complicated and not suitable for practical operation. In this paper, an improved IHS transformation fusion algorithm based on the local variance weighting scheme is proposed for remote sensing images. In our proposal, firstly, the local variance of the SPOT (which comes from French "Systeme Probatoire d'Observation dela Tarre" and means "earth observing system") image is calculated by using different sliding windows. The optimal window size is then selected with the images being normalized with the optimal window local variance. Secondly, the power exponent is chosen as the mapping function, and the local variance is used to obtain the weight of the I component and match SPOT images. Then we obtain the I' component with the weight, the I component and the matched SPOT images. Finally, the final fusion image is obtained by the inverse Intensity-Hue-Saturation transformation of the I', H and S components. The proposed algorithm has been tested and compared with some other image fusion methods well known in the literature. Simulation result indicates that the proposed algorithm could obtain a superior fused image based on quantitative fusion evaluation indices.

디지털영상의 저작권보호 라벨링을 위한 Reversible DTCNN(Discrete-Time Cellular Neural Network) 구조 (The Structure of Reversible DTCNN (Discrete-Time Celluar Neural Networks) for Digital Image Copyright Labeling)

  • 본 논문은 저작권보호를 위해 디지털영상의 라벨링을 위한 reversible DTCNN(discrete-time cellular neural network) 구조를 제안한다. 이러한 저작권보호 라벨링을 위해서 2차원 이진 pseudo 랜덤 영상열에 사용할 수 있는 새로운 reversible DTCNN의 구조와 개념을 설명하고 이에 대한 복잡행위를 보여주기 위해 reversible DTCNN의 서로 다른 방법들의 예시를 들어 설명한다. 또한 서로 다른 2진영상인 원영상과 복사된 영상은 서로 다른 2진 랜덤 영상키를 사용한다. 이 영상키는 원영상을 스크램블하는데 사용된다. 따라서 reversible DTCNN를 다시 역변환시켜서 저작권보호가 라벨링된 영상으로부터 복사된 영상임을 찾아낼 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 동영상을 처리하는 데는 S/W에서는 많은 시간이 소요되므로 고속 DTCNN 칩을 사용하여 실시간에서 동영상이나 비디오영상을 저작권보호를 위한 라벨링에 사용할 수 있으며, 이러한 결과를 컴퓨터에서 시뮬레이션됨을 보인다.

  • 계통연계형 분산전원 시스템의 제어 기술 중에 전기적 안전성을 확보하기 위해 계통의 이상을 검출하여 분산전원을 분리 시켜야 하며 PCS의 이러한 기능을 단독운전 방지라고 불린다. 수동적인 기법으로는 단독운전시에 전력생산량과 부하 요구량이 일치할 경우 연계점의 전압 및 주파수 특성이 변하지 않으므로 검출하지 못하게 되는 상황이 발생하나, 능동 방식 중 현재 널리 사용되고 있는 AFD와 RPV 방식에서는 인버터 전류제어를 통해 미소한 왜곡을 주입하여 전력평형상태에서도 단독운전시에 연계점 전압의 주파수를 변동시켜 단독운전검출이 가능하다. 이 두 방식은 기준신호에 주입하는 왜곡형태가 서로 다르지만 이로 인해서 무효 전력성분이 발생한다는 측면에서는 두 방식이 같다고 볼 수 있으며, 무효전력 성분의 비율을 같도록 설계하면 같은 양의 주파수 변동이 생긴다. IEEE 929-2000 조건하에서 해석 및 실험을 통하여 제안된 해석방식 및 설계법의 타당성 그리고 두 방식의 연관성 등을 검증하였으며, 계통연계시 신뢰도 측면에서 어느 방식이 더 우수한지를 밝혀 향후 단독운전방지를 위한 적합한 방식을 제시하도록 하였다.

  • Resident and user participation has been emerging as a hot topic and has been predicted to be popular and general in urban planning and regeneration, specially in housing regeneration in future. Also the number of the resident who are willing to participate in planning and regeneration process is expected to increase drastically as democratic and diverse society get matured. To enable a wide range of residents in planning process within a very limited time, effective and efficient communication tools need to be prepared. The purpose of study is to develop a set of tools for facilitating residents to participate actively in the process of exploring, consulting and decision making process in the street and regeneration. A realistic and feasible testbed site was decided. Developed tools were first, educational contents to empower resident capability to select a better design, second, three dimensional scaled model of existing site, third, floorplan and elevation of design alternative, forth, computer simulation images of both 3D & sketch-up for comparing wall heights and their effect. fifth, Two workshops among professionals and one workshop with residents were carried. Through the workshop, guidelines of developing communication tool for facilitating resident participation was developed. Its usage was summarized in both in further analog and digital tool.

  • The power of semiconductor laser diodes has been limited primarily by the heating effects which occur at high optical intensities. The actual limiting event can take one of a number of forms such as. catastrophic optical damage or filamentation. A general approach to this problem is to design a heterostructure which creates a high powered output while maintaining low internal optical intensities. A graded index separate confinement heterostructure (GRIN-SCH) is one such structure that accomplishes the above task. Here, the active region is sandwiched between graded index layers where the index of refraction increases nearer to the active layer. This structure has been shown to yield a high efficiency due to the confinement of both the optical power and carriers, thereby reducing the optical intensity required to achieve higher powers. The optical confinement also reinforces the optical beam quality against high power effects. Quantum dots have long been a desirable option for laser diodes due to the enhanced optical properties associated with the zeroth dimensionality. In our work, we use PICS3D software created by Crosslight Software Inc. to simulate the performance of In0.67A10.33As/A10.2Ga0.8AsquantumdotsusedwithaGRIN-SCH. The simulation tools are used to optimize the GRIN-SCH structure for high efficiency and optical beam quality.

LabVIEW® 기반 6축 수직 다관절 로봇(RS2)의 이종 모션 블랜딩 연구 (Implementation of LabVIEW®-based Joint-Linear Motion Blending on a Lab-manufactured 6-Axis Articulated Robot (RS2))

  • For fast and accurate motion of 6-axis articulated robot, more noble motion control strategy is needed. In general, the movement strategy of industrial robots can be divided into two kinds, PTP (Point to Point) and CP (Continuous Path). Recently, industrial robots which should be co-worked with machine tools are increasingly needed for performing various jobs, as well as simple handling or welding. Therefore, in order to cope with high-speed handling of the cooperation of industrial robots with machine tools or other devices, CP should be implemented so as to reduce vibration and noise, as well as decreasing operation time. This paper will realize CP motion (especially joint-linear) blending in 3-dimensional space for a 6-axis articulated (lab-manufactured) robot (called as "RS2") by using LabVIEW$^{(R)}$ (6) programming, based on a parametric interpolation. Another small contribution of this paper is the proposal of motion blending simulation technique based on Recurdyn$^{(R)}$ V7 and Solidworks$^{(R)}$, in order to figure out whether the joint-linear blending motion can generate the stable motion of robot in the sense of velocity magnitude at the end-effector of robot or not. In order to evaluate the performance of joint-linear motion blending, simple PTP (i.e., linear-linear) is also physically implemented on RS2. The implementation results of joint-linear motion blending and PTP are compared in terms of vibration magnitude and travel time by using the vibration testing equipment of Medallion of Zonic$^{(R)}$. It can be confirmed verified that the vibration peak of joint-linear motion blending has been reduced to 1/10, compared to that of PTP.

Extended-FEM for the solid-fluid mixture two-scale problems with BCC and FCC microstructures

  • An aim of the study is to develop an efficient numerical simulation technique that can handle the two-scale analysis of fluid permeation filters fabricated by the partial sintering technique of small spherical ceramics. A solid-fluid mixture homogenization method is introduced to predict the mechanical characters such as rigidity and permeability of the porous ceramic filters from the micro-scale geometry and configuration of partially-sintered particles. An extended finite element (X-FE) discretization technique based on the enriched interpolations of respective characteristic functions at fluid-solid interfaces is proposed for the non-interface-fitted mesh solution of the micro-scale analysis that needs non-slip condition at the interface between solid and fluid phases of the unit cell. The homogenization and localization performances of the proposed method are shown in a typical two-dimensional benchmark problem whose model has a hole in center. Three-dimensional applications to the body-centered cubic (BCC) and face-centered cubic (FCC) unit cell models are also shown in the paper. The 3D application is prepared toward the computer-aided optimal design of ceramic filters. The accuracy and stability of the X-FEM based method are comparable to those of the standard interface-fitted FEM, and are superior to those of the voxel type FEM that is often used in such complex micro geometry cases.

하악골 재건을 위한 가상수술계획 시스템 (Virtual Surgical Planning System for Mandible Reconstruction)

  • In this paper, we propose a virtual surgical planning system specialized to mandible reconstruction surgery. Mandible reconstruction surgery is one of the most difficult surgeries, even for experienced surgeons. Compared to the traditional surgical procedures, virtual surgical planning can reduce the operation time in operating room while expecting better surgical outcome with optimized planning. However, with existing software systems, it requires much time and manual operations in virtual surgical planning. To reduce preparation time and improve accuracy of virtual surgical planning, we have developed optimized functions for virtual surgical simulation of mandible reconstruction with user-friendly interface. We found that the proposed system shortened the preparation time by half compared to the existing system from the experiments. The proposed system supports surgeons to make accurate plan faster and easier. The virtually planned results are used to make surgical cutting guide by 3D printing, and this will enhance surgical performance in operating room.

증폭 후 재전송 MIMO 중계 시스템을 위한 선형 전처리 기법 (Linear Precoding Technique for AF MIMO Relay Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 안테나 기반 증폭 후 재전송 중계 시스템을 위한 선형 전처리 필터 설계를 다룬다. 수신 신호의 평균 제곱 오차를 최소화하기 위한 송신 및 중계 선형 전처리 필터가 제안되며, 수신 단말에서는 제안된 전처리 필터에 적합한 MMSE 기반 수신기가 사용된다. 최적의 송신 및 중계 전처리 필터는 수식적으로 표현하기 어렵고 반복 과정으로 통하여 유도되므로 이러한 연산을 단순화한 전처리 기법을 제안한다. 모의실험을 통하여 제안한 전처리 기법이 최적의 전처리 기법과 거의 유사한 성능을 보이면서도 기존의 중계 전처리 기법 보다 우수한 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있다. 게다가, 신호 대 잡음비가 높은 영역에서 중계 수선 단말간 신호 대 잡음비에 비하여 송선 중계 단말간 신호 대 잡음비가 성능에 더 많은 영향을 미친다는 사실도 확인할 수 있다.

도시 경관향상을 위한 경전철 교각의 시각적 특성 (Visual Characteristics of Light Rail Transit Pier for Improving Urban Landscape)

  • Urban sprawl has been the limits of traffic accommodate and the supply road. Thus, Light Rail Transit(LRT) has been proposed as the best alternative. Owing to landscape damage from construction of LRT, landscape planning should be considered seriously in the urban planning step. This paper therefore seeks to determine landscape improvement direction of LRT pier. First, the methods in this study shared landscape improvement direction type of LRT pier through previous studies such as planting of surface(30%, 60%, 90% planting of surface), graphic(character, commercial advertising, symbol), and surface treatment type(exposed concrete, white painting, pattern dies). Next, respondent evaluated 3D simulated landscape image accordingly shared types by preference and landscape adjectives using in streetscape evaluation. As a result, visual preference was the highest in planting type of surface and the lowest in the surface treatment type. Covering 60%(4.48) in planting type of surface was the highest. Because it is similar to the golden ratio considering the visual principle, we will need to take advantage through the result of this paper. Also, most landscape improvement direction which satisfied with significant level showed a positive effect from landscape improvement. Comprehensively based on these results, it suggests desirable landscape improvement direction of LRT pier in the city for solution of landscape inhibition problem.
